The Trevi Fountain is the terminal point of the Vergine aqueduct, the most famous of Rome's fountains and the most famous in the world for its spectacular monumentality. Documented in the Middle Ages, its name derives from a place name in use in the area since the mid-12th century (regio Trivii), or from the triple outlet of the water from the original fountain. In 1640, at the behest of Pope Urban VIII (1622-1644), in conjunction with the enlargement of the square, Gian Lorenzo Bernini designed a new fountain oriented like the current one, whose construction was limited to the installation of an exedra base with a basin in front of it, leaning against the buildings that were later incorporated into the Poli Palace. Our guide was phenomenal and the Borghese didn't disappoint! She had a degree in art history and shared so much information about the artists and their techniques, as well as the stories surrounding the estate and Borghese family. To see Bernini's work up close was truly a treat.

Vatican museum fantastic but hot in mid August. Only downside tour guide was somewhat difficult to hear. Would suggest upgrade in microphone and headsets. The guide navigated the crowded Vatican expertly, being courteous but also aggressive in getting the best viewing opportunities.

Vatican Value

Given the summer crowds and heat, just being able to skip the line was worth the experience alone but we really appreciated our guide Rachel’s friendliness, professionalism and knowledge escorting us in to the Vatican Museum. And then of course seeing the Sistine Chapel and Basilica was awesome! Great overall experience!

Great Experience

Great experience. We met with our guide at the designated area and received our tickets and audio guide. Once received, we entered the Pantheon and followed with the audio guide. Don’t forget that you have to cover shoulder’s and knees to enter. I brought a scarf to cover my shoulders. I just packed it in my bag and took it everywhere.

Knowledgeable Guide and Great Tour

Overall, we really enjoyed this excursion. Our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and did an excellent job explaining the history and significance of the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica. Her enthusiasm and expertise made the experience much more enjoyable. The only drawback was the meeting location. The instructions for where to meet the tour group were not clearly explained and it was difficult to find the correct meeting point. More detailed directions, a map, or recognizable landmarks would make the start of the excursion much less stressful. Once we found the group, everything went smoothly and we had a wonderful experience. I would recommend this excursion.

Loved this experience!! The tour guide walked us right up to the entrance and did a great job explaining what the security would be like entering the Vatican! 2 things to know that I did not realize: - you need to pick up your tickets across the street before you head to the Vatican. So pay attention to the bottom of your Viator confirmation pdf. It has the address. - The tour company tried to reach out to me on WhatsApp the day before and I did not see their messages, which would have been helpful. That said, this was an amazing trip! My teenage boys agreed!

Absolutely Wonderful!

We had an amazing time on this tour. The hosts were so nice and friendly and spoke wonderful English. We enjoyed delicious fruits, appetizers and refreshments on board and got to swim, explore caves and see the gorgeous coastline of Cefalu. I would highly highly recommend this tour. Do not miss it!

Amazing!

It's very much worth the extra cost to have the opportunity to visit the underground areas of the Colosseum (and to get access to closed areas while other tourists look on in envy!). Our guide was excellent (sorry, it's taken me a few weeks to get a chance to write this, and I cannot remember her name). Definitely recommend doing this one, as you get to see many areas without crowds (and you can still freely visit the other areas after the formal part of the tour has ended, if you feel like braving the crowds)

Excellent tour - recommended

I would highly recommend this trip. It was a last minute booking and we had to accommodate some changes for a family member, but it was no trouble. The afternoon of our trip it was during a biblical amount of rain, but despite the weather, Serena made it engaging and very informative and was accommodating of my sons aged 11 and 8. She had so much knowledge and it really brought it alive, especially with the overlay of pictures that others have mentioned. I really recommend this tour.
