I bought three tickets skip the line Vatican museum. I received an email from the company confirming full payment and other information. I arrived at the Vatican skip the line entrance an hour earlier . There are three entrances. I approached one of the entrances and showed the guard the email I received from Viator . He asked me to call the company and request the electronic tickets. I called the company many times without any success. Then I had no other choice but to buy three other tickets from a nearby travel agent . Whoever is managing the company is doing a lousy job. I send an email using Viator website demanding a full refund.

This was not a real “skip the line” experience. I am still not sure why we paid extra for this. We were actually in the longest of the three lines and waited over 30 min in the hot sun. This is totally overpriced, I would suggest just going online and buying a ticket directly from the Vatican site.

Mistakenly booked a week out and tried to cancelled but couldn’t. Be careful booking on Viator since they will cancel on you last minutes without rebooking for you. And not helping when you are mistakenly booked something. Will never use this service again.

It is hard to find the starting place but there are a lot of guys selling tickets to see the Vatican so I got directions from them. ,The museum takes at least 2 hours and is full, full, full of art and history. Also, I found it nerve wracking on both my Viatar tours to get my tickets at the last minute. A street seller helped me to find it on my phone.

Our guide was very informative and the experience was amazing. However, it was hot and there were lots of people. But in all, it was a great experience.

Fraud, rubbish site, the meeting place was like a market, no representation from the company at all, just a crazy mess of people, no information, just a joke. Then my bank blocked my credit card because this company has a red alert on it. Totally lost the day and the money. Unacceptable.

Skip the line was great but we lost our tour guide straight away, we got stuck behind some people on the escalator on the way up as it was very busy, by the time we got to the top, the group was gone and we couldn’t find them. We spent 1 hour trying to find our guide. We ended up having to pay for some audio headset. Disappointed we were not waited for as we were only a couple minutes behind. I understand the place was busy but I seen other tour guides wait for the group at multiple stops.

You, in fact, WILL NOT skip the line! After downloading the voucher, the seller has to send you another ticket….you have to stand in another line to retrieve another ticket.. then stand in line for your audio headset. The tour guides, while very polite, don’t allow much time for you take pics as they are on limited time to herd everyone through the museum. Oh and should you receive your ticket BEFORE arriving to the meeting point (had to request it once we got there) , please be aware of the dress code/rules for the Sistine Chapel. We feel like $175 for two tickets was wasted.

Huge museum before you get to the Sistine chapel, well worth a visit, really can’t do the ceiling of the chapel justice, it’s just fabulous. Also the map room is awesome & the room we called the ‘globe room’!
Skip the line is a relative term!, your put in a line with others with the same time ticket & then all go in together so although it says be there 15 mins before your ticket time that’s just the que for your actual time and then it was probably around 20 mins after that we actually got in but it was well organised and I would def recommend.

The skip the line tickets are overpriced. We paid over 50-75 euros extra per person for skip the line with a guide tickets only to not have a guide in the end and have to navigate the museum ourselves.

Basically, all this tour does is allow you to skip the line, which is admittedly quite long. But I'm not sure whether that was worth the rather high ticket price. Better instructions for redeeming the tickets would be helpful, as this was somewhat confusing.

Great experience at the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. We only waited about 15 min to get through security, thankfully because all the other lines were so long!
Be aware when you buy these. You need WhatsApp. I was sent the tickets 2 days before entry through WhatsApp and we got in smoothly.
Would absolutely recommend these if you can’t get a timed entry directly through the Vatican.

Official tickets on Vatican website were sold out, so we had to purchase them secondhand on Viator and pay extra, which, setting aside moral objections with ticket scalping, was acceptable to us since we were booking relatively last minute and wanted the convenience of not waiting in any lines.
Ultimately though, the “tour operator” sent us the tickets 24 hours in advance via WhatsApp and we entered directly into the Museum (obviously you still go through the security line - which was like five minutes) and skipped the day of purchase line (which was very long).
The only confusion was that the “tour operator” was clear in their instructions that they are not operating an actual guided visit, and that you are not meeting anyone on site. But our tickets were technically for what was maybe a Vatican Museum-led tour, so there was some confusion about needing to go to the tour group ticket counter (and waiting for your tour guide) inside versus going straight through the turnstile by yourself. But there wasn’t any issue actually getting the physical tickets when we said we didn’t want to go on an official tour, we just wanted to visit at our own pace. Just check the tickets you receive via WhatsApp to see whether they are self-guided or an official tour and proceed accordingly.

Don’t buy skip the line tickets for the Vatican. And if you do, make sure the Sistine Chapel is actually open. Tour group should have notified us as it was apparently known by other operators.

THIS IS A SCAM. I paid 5 tickets but they ONLY sent me 4 tickets. the actual ticket was only sent an hour before the timed entry. I had to follow up a thousand times. I also paid 89 euros each ticket when it actually costs around 20-25 euros each. just go buy direct. the local tour operator is RELIANT TOURS. Avoid them at all cost they are unresponsive and a scam.

This is not the Bazilica ticket. For sure you dont beed to buy tickets for Bazilica (St.Peters Church) But only the bazilica visit is not enough, you need to experience guided tour of Vatican Museum an Sistine Chapel and see all the freskos. (We had a chance to do this with a very professional guide…Thanks to her.)

Extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with Viator.
We booked a Vatican Museum tour through Viator and received an email instructing us to go to a meeting point before entering the museum to collect our tickets and voucher. However, on the morning of our visit, we suddenly received another email saying there was no meeting point.
As a result, we were left completely confused and stranded outside the Vatican Museum with no proper guidance. The museum staff refused to let us enter because we did not have the required voucher, despite following the instructions we had originally been given.
We spent nearly 3 hours walking around, trying to figure out what was happening, and dealing with unnecessary stress and frustration. Eventually, we found a Viator staff member near the entrance, only to be told that the email we had was not sufficient for entry. After contacting another team member, they finally sent us the correct voucher. This entire situation completely ruined our day in Rome and caused us significant stress and disappointment. We are requesting a full refund for the money we paid due to this unacceptable experience. If Viator does not resolve this matter appropriately, we will have no choice but to file a formal complaint and consider legal action.
This level of poor organization and lack of communication is unacceptable, especially for an experience people plan and pay for in advance. A large part of our entire day in Rome was ruined because of Viator’s mistake and mismanagement. We are requesting a full refund for this terrible experience and the inconvenience caused. If this issue is not resolved appropriately, we will consider taking legal action.
We expect accountability for the inconvenience, stress, wasted time, and poor customer experience. Based on this experience, we would not recommend booking this Vatican tour through Viato

What an amazing place to visit!
The skip-the-line tickets are absolutely worth it - even though you do still have to wait in line, that line is exponentially shorter than the main one! Don't arrive too early though, as you'll be asked to leave and return perhaps 15 minutes before your entry time as the area simply cannot hold people who arrive too soon.

This was quite disappointing to us as most of the items in the museums don’t have anything to do with the Vatican. We expected to be able sit and pray in the Sistine Chapel but was herded through like cattle and there aren’t any pews in the chapel for prayer or meditation. We spent a lot of money for very little in return.

Lovely day out but the beat the queue tickets still involve a huge queue! We also used this complaint to book tickets for tomorrow at the Colloseum but despite paying weeks ago, they have cancelled today. Very disappointing
