A remarkable tour made more so by a remarkable guide.

The tour includes a drive along the ocean's edge and coastal towns. Once in Sintra, a walk, a good deal being a lengthy incline in order to reach a castle and its gardens. There was another attraction which also required an walking up a rather steep incline along with stairs. I was sore and somewhat worn, however it was well worth it. Domingos, our tour guide was the best guide that I've ever had the pleasure of engaging with.

Emilio and team were great guides and great fun ☺️! The Pena, Regaleira, Cabo Roca Coast and Cascais sights were amazing with the warm weather and the timings for each tour were just right. Comfy and informative bus ride back and forth to Lisbon. Tip: To travelers taking the trips to Pena and especially Regaleria please note the terrain requires some medium to heavy incline walking during the given window, so be aware of your health limits. The coast and coastal city of Cascias are just picturesque and sweeping views. We definitely recommend this team, they were great! Here's to Portugal and Ronaldo 😜!

This is a beautiful tour of Sintra, Colares and Cascais. We learned so much from Mauro. His passionate storytelling brought to life the historical figures and story of all the places we saw. He also recommended places for us to try, like Piriquita and their pastries - Tavesseiros and Queijada de Sintra. Both amazing treats. We also went to Restaurante Adega das Azenhas for authentic Portuguese food for lunch, which hit the spot! Our family (with teenagers!) found this tour informational and fun. Highly recommended!

Bruno provided a wonderful small group tour. His history knowledge is exceptional and he added facts about things that you might not know about. Asked the group questions about architecture, etc that made us think broader. I would highly recommend taking a tour with him. This half day tour was perfect. Going early in the morning was key…didn’t have the amount of people around that come later in the day.

A Wonderful Day Trip!

We had a fantastic day with Perri (sp?). She made sure everyone in the van was comfortable before we set off, which set the tone for a great experience. Our tour began in Fátima, where she shared the history and then gave us time to explore at our own pace. We arrived as the rosary was being recited, which was a very moving moment. From there, we continued to Nazaré, where Perri gave us a great overview of the town’s history and recommended some excellent spots for lunch. Our final stop was Óbidos, where we learned about the castle walls and the town’s past. I chose not to walk the walls, but others in our group did and said the views were incredible. We also enjoyed a delicious shot of ginjinha served in a chocolate cup—a fun treat! It was a full day, but we learned so much and covered places we never could have managed on our own in such a short time. If you’re looking for a well-rounded introduction to these destinations, this tour is an excellent choice.

Nice day tour

Lane Tours provided this day trip. For the most part, they were efficient and friendly. Our group of about 25 required four different languages which, while impressive to hear, resulted in fewer details and history about the places we visited. The time spent in Fatima and Nazare was more than sufficient but we would have liked more time in Obidos as we only had an hour there before returning to Lisbon. All in all, we felt the tour was money well spent.

Sintra Day Tour- A Magical Experience

My family and I had a wonderful experience on our first trip to Portugal. Our private tour guide Felipe was an absolute treasure. He was informative, friendly, down to earth and detail oriented. He spent the whole day with us taking us to various sites which included the gorgeous seaside town of Cascais and the fairy tale storybook village of Sintra. We also toured the National Palace of Pena which was exquisite and enchanting. Felipe paced our day incredibly well and was a wealth of information throughout the day. He took great care in making sure we were happy. I was recovering from a calf muscle strain and he made sure I could navigate the hilly terrain, where needed, successfully. My family and I highly recommend this day trip of Sintra and Felipe.

Firs thing, this is not a private tour but a shared tour with a group in a bus. It was a great experience despite the weather. The guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. They made sure we had enough time in all our stops and ensured everyone enjoyed. Few things to note : there is a LOT of walking. The food options for vegetarians are very limited in Sintra. For Pena Palace, skip the interior unless you really want to visit it. The "gardens" are a walk to the Palace.
