But even without the tickets for 9.30 the tour will be done anyway, starting by Cascais and finishing in Sintra. But we'll visit the 2 palaces anyway. Tickets are not included : Pena Palace : 20€ Quinta da Regaleira : 20€
- Attention: If you have any problems walking or you walk slowly, we don't advise you this tour!
- Attention: You don't need to worry about the tickets for both palaces. We'll buy them for you and you''ll pay us in cash or paypal the day of the tour.
- Attention: the entrance in the palaces have a slot we must respect. We will not be responsible by any accidents or other reasons out of our control that can change the course of the tour or skip a palace if we don't get there on the expected time!

Lukas, the driver/guide was timely, funny, informative, and provided us with some great photographs (that was an unexpected bonus). My sister ordered the wrong lunch item and he quickly spoke to the restaurant staff and changed the order. He knew all the best parking spots to ensure a fast and easy in and out. Great day!

A wealth of information and so grateful for the early start to avoid the crazy long cues! Our guide Bruno was very knowledgeable, interesting and obviously passionate about the history and stories of the region. The lunch was authentic and tasty, very local cuisine. It would be difficult to get all the history in one day and the small travel group was great!

This was an excellent tour and we highly recommend it. The best perk of this trip was that they ensure that you are the first ones in line at the castle, so you have the shortest wait and best experience. Also, our guide, Bruno, was amazing, funny, and caring. He took the time to take photos of everyone at the various stops and share them with us, along with a great history lesson of everywhere that we visited. This trip is worth the time and money!

This tour was fantastic. Even on a chilly day we had a blast at all locations. Being the first people to enter Pena Palace was wonderful considering how busy it got shortly after. Lukas our tour guide had everything planned to a T and ensured we got the best photos and moments. The lunch restaurant was authentic and wonderful. We sat down right away and there was already appetizers and wine on the table! Highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see some great places and have everything taken care of for them! No stress, just a ton of fun. Thanks Lukas!

We had a great day with Eddy of Happy Tours. The itinerary was excellent. The early entrance to the palace got us ahead of the crowds. After the sights of Sentra, we enjoyed the stops along the beautiful coast. The pictures that Eddy took and sent to us was a plus.

I had a really great time on this Sintra tour with Happy Tours Portugal. Our guide, Lukas (with a “K”), was punctual, knowledgeable, and very funny, which made the day both smooth and enjoyable.
One of the biggest advantages of this tour was the organization. We were the first group to enter Pena Palace, which meant we skipped the queues entirely and experienced it before the crowds arrived. Being in a small group made everything feel relaxed and well paced.
The lunch stop was excellent because of both the views and the food, and the overall structure of the day was thoughtful and efficient. On top of that, the vibe was fantastic including some unexpected carpool karaoke on the drive, which added to the fun.
Between the early palace access, great food, seamless organization, and having such a great guide, it’s easy to see why Happy Tours Portugal is so highly rated. I highly recommend this tour, especially Lukas with the K.

We had an early start, but we’re able to get to Peña Palace as it opened, missing all of the lines! Our guide was very knowledgeable of the area and associated history. He took pictures and shared via WhatsApp. Lunch was delicious at a quaint Portuguese restaurant. The shrimp dish was amazing. As we visited Quinta Do Rogario our guide provided background information and a suggested route which included the well, the chapel, and the house. Onto Cassius to see the mouth of hell. It was one of the best tours that I have ever taken, our guide made it very special.

Duarte was an excellent tour guide. From Pena Palace to the Quinta Da Regaleira, look out points and a lovely lunch. Overall great tour. Glad we were first in line at Pena that place was packed by the time we left. Highly recommended.

If you’re in Lisbon for a short trip, you have to do this day tour, it’s all day but well worth it. You get a chance to see all the major castles in Sintra as well as the most western point in Europe and much more. The weather was super clear as well. Great day with our group and tour guide Eddy!

The hike up to the castle was a little more challenging than I expected. Also the hike up to the well. It was worth it though. Eddy was a great driver and tour guide. He made the journey entertaining and informative.

We had a great time on this tour. We have used Viator for a few other tours when vacationing and all of the tours were great! Eddy was our guide and he did a good job of driving us all around, leading us through the Peña Palace ( wish we had more time there!), taking pictures of us at all the stops, and even made a little video for us. We were among the first people to enter the Peña Palace which was wonderful as it got very crowded quickly. It’s a great place to see. We also loved the drive along the coast and stopping for the views in several places. Cabo da Roco was great to experience also. I could have used more time at Peña Palace and less time at lunch but that is just me. The lunch stop was very good food. It was a long but very enjoyable day. I wanted to see as much as I could since we were flying home the next day and this tour provided exactly that. Eddy, the guide, was very personable, outgoing, and funny. You will need to bring some cash with you to reimburse the guide for the tickets for the Peña palace and Quinta da Regaleira. For us, the cost was $35E per person for the two sites- very reasonable.

Amazing tour with a ton of things to see and experience! Rodrigo was very knowledgeable, helpful and funny! Great storyteller! He certainly offered a VIP experience with great photos spots (he is also a great photographer), maps and pictures. Even though the tour was in English, he speaks 4 other languages, making everyone feel quite comfortable. Highly recommend!!!

Lukas was awesome! He was entertaining with amazing sense of humor! Very accommodating and knowledgeable about the history of Lisbon, Sintra and Cascais! We had a fantastic day trip to Sintra and Cascais with Rodrigo from Happy Tours. Although our visit to Pena Palace was unfortunately delayed due to an unexpected closure, Rodrigo handled the situation with great consideration and resourcefulness. He quickly adjusted the itinerary to ensure we still experienced the charm of Sintra, including some hidden gems we might have otherwise missed.
The trip was well-organized and absolutely worth the money, with thoughtful touches throughout—especially the surprise gift at the end, which made the day feel extra special. Rodrigo’s knowledge, friendliness, and ability to turn an unexpected challenge into a memorable experience truly stood out.
Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting a stress-free and enjoyable day in Sintra and Cascais!

Overall my entire family had fun during the tour. But to warn you it’s a great deal of walking up an elevation. Lukas and Rodrigo are awesome tour guides. Very personal and entertaining. We started off rocky since entrance to Sintra was blocked but they were persistent in getting us in. It’s a lot of go, go, go so if you want plenty of time you might want to break up the tours into days. Otherwise our group, which included others had a great time. We all had plenty to converse so that made it more enjoyable. Lunch stop was great and Lukas/Rodrigo can take awesome pictures. You won’t be disappointed if you have limited time.

Getting up early definitely was worth it in order to be one of the first in line at Pena Palace! Our guide Javi was knowledgable, charming and helpful and made the experience worthwhile. He pointed out many details we would have missed otherwise and provided context and background information. Would definitely recommend!

First of all our guide, Eduardo was FANTASTIC! He gets 5**. However, I had MAJOR issues with the company, which is why I gave 3 stars. Here's why...The van was very cramped. The seats are not for Americans, they are suited to small children, and the pack the vans tight. Even the front seat, where I sat was so tight. The lady and I next to me, were uncomfortably squished for hours. They need to either get bigger vans, or book less people.
The main problem with this tour is false advertising! It said the entire day was supposed to be completely guided. It was not. Eddie dropped us off to wander, at one of the castles. As a solo traveler-no bueno!
I called Viator to complain and to request a PARTIAL, not full refund.
The owner got wind while I was on the tour and the owner was on Eddie's phone. The owner proceeded to YELL at me and told me to get off the tour. This is unacceptable and I am going to report him to Viator.
In terms of the actual tour, it was great! Got to see a number of places and Eddie made all the difference.
If they change the "all guided tours" verbiage, and get bigger vans or book less people in the vans, this would be an awesome tour.

Beautiful places and lots of walking, amazing scenery.
The only point you need to know is that you the tickets for both palaces are 35EUR per person, they tell this in advance only one day before the trip. It would be better to mention this so groups or families know beforehand what to expect.
I also learned later that children have discounted tickets and also families of four have discounted tickets, but when I asked our tour guide about how much do we owe him, charged us full price for both kids (35 x 4) which we felt not cool.
Also he asked for extra 10 EUR if sending by PayPal, for currency conversion which doesn't make any sense, since PayPal explicitly says the he receives in EUR. So I am not sure but something smelled funny.
Also the place they took us for lunch felt a overpriced at 27 EUR per person for ok food. Didn't seem reasonable at all for us.
Overall, nice scenery and places but we feel we were ripped off in the tickets and lunch.
