The staff was very informative and gave us the full background of the Iditarod and dog sledding in general. We got to meet our whole team of dogs, pet them etc and took a fun pseudo dog sled tour thru the forest. We then enjoyed puppy petting time and had a class on the gear and dog clothing used during the process. The entire staff was very friendly and anxious to share their knowledge. We were lucky enough to have one of the lead dogs that won an Iditarod on our team. We loved this experience and highly recommend it!

We had a great time! The wheeled cart thing is covered during rain, which was nice. Staff takes pictures and a video of your group during the ride and shares it with you at the end. I learned so much and playing with the puppies was an added bonus.

The ride is pretty rough in places so people with back or neck issues be aware. Snuggling with pups is so much fun!

Wonderful experience in a gorgeous forested setting! We loved seeing the dogs doing what they love, learning about the Iditarod and snuggling the puppies. If I could give it more than five stars, I would.

Very neat experience however the time on the dogs sled was short. Puppies were cute and dogs were friendly.
Response from Host, Jul 2025
Hi Jennifer, sorry you thought the ride was too short. Our Alaskan huskies best temperature to run is 0 to -10 degrees. It's necessary for the saftey of our dogs to limit the trail to a very short distance with lots of stops to keep them cool!

Extremely knowledgeable, accommodating, entertaining and friendly! Handicap accessible so highly recommend!
Kartick_S, Jul 2025

This will be an experience my family will remember for many years! A favorite excursion in Alaska. The crew was so kind and knowledgeable, the kennels clean and organized, and the dogs were absolutely magnificent. We got to cuddle puppies, take a ride through the woods, learn about the Iditarod race and how they care for the dogs, see the equipment used, and meet the dog crew. All the dogs were sweet, well behaved and beyond adorable. Highly recommend for all dog lovers!

Rhonda_M, Jul 2025
This was a great experience. The sledding (dry) is more a cart pull. While getting the idea of what the training that goes into the team. Fun for sure! Work out for the dogs none the less.

Carla_L, Jul 2025
Had a lovely time with the team at Iditaride! I was on a solo trip and had a free evening, so I went by myself for the 6:30pm tour. The dogs were so cute and so excited to run. I ended up on a cart with two other groups, but since I was alone I ended up standing on the back of the cart with the musher, which was actually pretty fun.

Absolutely fantastic. 100% worth the ticket! Such a cool, interactive experience. Our guide Hunter was great.

Had lots of questions about Alaska Husky and this group knew the answers. Dogs friendly and guides very knowledgeable. Bonus was seeing the puppies which melt anyone’s heart. Great history about Seavey family.

Had a great time with the sled dogs and learned so much about them from our group leader. Found out he will be a senior in high school and he has a bright future ahead of him. So knowledgable and friendly.

This is a fun and informative hour or so with not just the dogs but the people taking care of them all summer in the off season of racing. We started with a talk that introduced us to the world of the Iditarod. Then the team of dogs was hooked up to the summer "sled" and we were off for a 2 mile ride through the woods giving the dogs much needed exercise while we were able to ask questions and learn more about the sledding experience. The dogs loved the pets and scratches after the ride. Afterwards we were taken to a barn where we learned about the tools of the trade including the sled and gear.
As a side note, my husband is walking disabled (gets around slowly with a cane) and was able to walk the short distances and handle the bumps and talks.

Fun, educational & heartwarming all in one! Transportation drivers were knowledgeable about surrounding area and very accommodating to guests.
Our tour guide, Noah, knows his stuff! You’re going places, my friend. The dogs were excited to take us on a ride in a cart on dryland with beautiful scenery. Noah knew the history of dog racing and educated us all with amazement and love for the dogs. Holding a six week old pup, who could eventually be the next racing champ, was heartwarming and difficult not to steal one away, but mama Lulu watched on to ensure all her pups were safely returned to her after sharing them with us.
This tour was definitely worth it!
