A must do experience when visiting Seward, you will not be disappointed!! From the pick up to drop off the whole team provided an excellent service. Special mention to “Matt the Musher” for allowing us to experience his unique work. His devotion and knowledge of his dog team and sledding shone through and enabled us to immerse ourselves and learn about a world that we didn’t know existed! Certainly one of the highlights of our Alaskan land/sea tour!!

We highly recommend this excursion. It is well worth the cost. Very exciting and the staff do everything they can to accommodate. It's a definite "must do" if you can afford it.

This experience was incredible! John, our helicopter pilot took us up to the glacier while showing us the sights from the air. The weather was drizzly and cold-perfect for meeting Matt, the Musher, who introduced us to all the amazing dogs, and then took us for a true dog sled ride. Afterwards we met 7 pups who will be trained for the Iditarod. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience all the way around

Everything was great, very organized and quite interesting. I would like the girls at the reception to be a little more friendly and offer coffee.

Helicopter ride was amazing. The operator did an amazing job taking off and landing the helicopter. The Huskies dogs and puppies were so sweet. Absolutely loved holding the puppies. They were so cute! The energy and excitement of these huskies was so exciting. The crew taking care of the huskies were incredible. Our musher was student in college studying to be a vet. What an incredible experience for him. I would highly recommend this excursion. I would love to do this again!

Helicopter ride is very scenic and the top of the glacier looks surreal. The dogs are beyond impressive and the puppies are adorable.

Book it!!! This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us! Everyone was so friendly & kind , the views are amazing, the dogs all well loved & cared for. We really enjoyed our adventure.

What an amazing morning! From the helicopter ride where we spotted two moose and just the most incredible views to the thrilling dogsledding ride. It’s not every day you get to dogsled on a glacier and this was an absolute blast! Meeting all the dogs and getting to hold the puppies was just the cherry on top! It’s clear how much the team loves the pups! Our two teens still talk about this adventure!

From the moment you take off in the helicopter as you fly up the mountain through the glacier is a scenic experience like no other. Upon reaching the top of the glacier, all the dogs are waiting excitingly to provide you experience a lifetime. The staff is simply fabulous.!

The 10-12 minute helicopter ride is great, but the experience with the dogs is incredible. You’re given a full hour experience on the glacier. Amari was my guide and he was very kind and knowledgeable. I got to spend a lot of time with the 5 week old puppies who wanted cuddles and attention.

A short scenic helicopter flight followed by some adventurous dog sledding in stunning surroundings. We also got the opportunity to play with the puppies. A truly unforgettable experience, which is worth the price tag. All the staff were very dedicated and enthusiastic.
We were picked up directly from the cruise terminal and everything worked flawlessly.

Absolutely an experience of a lifetime! Summer training camp for Iditarod race. Spectacular weather and plenty of time with dogs and handlers.
Timothy_k, Jul 2025
The sled ride is in a large loop on the glacier ice field we had 11 racing sled does pulling the sled

We loved everything about this excursion. The helicopter ride was fun and then landing on the glacier and seeing the sled dogs was amazing. We had such a great time interacting with the dogs and playing with the puppies. This was a highlight of our trip!

If you've helicoptered to a glacier before, and gone dogsledding, then this may not wow you. But for the rest of the planet who haven't, you're in for an experience.
The crew lives on this glacier in the summer and takes care of and bonds with the amazing dogs. Amauree was our guide and he is a gentle soul; not only with the dogs but with us.
We were blessed with amazing weather and very comfortable temperatures with little wind.

Was not rushed. Breathtaking views. Felt very safe - the staff was engaged the entire trip. Dogs were incredible

This was the best thing we have done!! The dog handlers just love their team. Scenery was spectacular. Thank you so much
Beverly_K, Jul 2025
It was wonderful overall, but Amari promised that we could change places on the sled. I never got a picture or video of the dogs when they were moving.

Unique and incredible experience! Stunning helicopter ride up to the dog kennel on top of the glacier! Loved the entire crew and pups! Book this trip!!!!!

Highly recommend this amazing tour operator! Excellent experience from beginning to end! Pro tip: if you are embarking on a cruise in Seward, ask for early boarding, drop you bags, and Seward Helicopter Tours will pick you up at the port for your 10 min helicopter ride to Godwin glacier and the dog camp surrounded by mountains. Rachel and her team at Turning Heads Kennels took us on a mile long loop on amazing snow, followed by meeting the puppies. Spectacular weather, spectacular five star service!!! Quick helicopter ride back to base - 90 minutes total. Shuttle ride back to port and back on ship after the highlight of our Alaska experience!
Erin_G, Aug 2024
Incredible experience! We had absolutely perfect weather, which made the helicopter flight so beautiful both to and from the glacier.
The time with the huskys was so precious. Much praise and cuddles, which we loved. We also enjoyed learning and seeing each dog's personality both during our up-close interactions and during the ride. (King, Georgia, Yogi, Daisy..etc...loved them all! )
And it was so impressive to hear the Iditarod stories for those on our team who had run the race numerous times. Can't wait to follow the dogs and the Turning Heads Kennel team in future races!
The mushers, pilots, office staff were all so kind and helpful! Thank you!!

OMG we spent two weeks in Alaska, and this was the high point of the trip. A 100% must do. The location was great, very clean and very professional. We did not feel rush at any point and the dog camp and getting to ride on the back of the sled was way more than we could have hoped. Yes you do get to stand on the back and drive the sled. On the way down they took us out of way to see a bull moose that they had spotted. The expense is well worth the expense of this excursion

spectacular experience w four wows in one. the dogs, the sled ride, the glacier and the helicopter each were special. tip, when they ask if you would like to . . . just say yes. would you like to meet the dogs, would you like to take some pictures, would you like to meet the puppies, would you like the special helicopter ride back to seward. we did this on our last day and we probably saved the best for last.
