This excursion is a venture. A venture for all parties who would make an attempt to join a search party with its entire focus on witnessing earth's rarest celestial light show. On this tour you will be taken to some of the most spectacular locations along the Seward Highway from Whittier to Anchorage. Our guide will be looking for ways to make each and every experience unique and exciting from stopping at creeks to see the Salmon run, we will be on the look for Alaska wildlife in the wild!!! A fully narrated tour by a local guide along Turnagain Arm offers stunning views of rugged mountains, glaciers, and Alaska flora and fauna (i.e., wildflowers, bald eagles, Dall sheep, beluga whales). We will stop at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center (AWCC), where visitors can get up-close viewings and pictures of Alaska's most iconic animals, including brown bears, moose, caribou, and muskox. From there, the tour will continue down the scenic Portage Valley, where visitors can take in spectacular views of towering mountains, cascading waterfalls, the beautiful Portage Lake, and numerous glaciers, including the Explorer and Byron Glaciers. On the return trip, visitors will enjoy a provided lunch in Girdwood, a quaint town surrounded by the northernmost temperate rainforest. We'll keep you as clean as possible as we drive around the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and introduce you to our favorite furry friends, making sure to save time for all the muculent photo ops. On our way back to Anchorage we'll stop in Girdwood for folks to grab snacks, souvenirs, and more as this fun, forest town decides it's just not that into Winter anymore. This tour will probably be the highlight of your trip since someone lied to you about April being a great time to come to Alaska, but we won't make any promises.
