Cruise depart from the Kenai Fjords Tours Office:1304 W. Fourth Avenue, Seward AK. Free parking is available in our private lot with a free shuttle to the dock, starting May 1st. Lot is located just a few blocks north of our check-in center behind the Marina Motel, located at 1603 Seward Highway.

Itinerary

Your 4-hour gray whale–watching cruise leaves midday from the designated Seward harbor and docks back here in the late afternoon. Tours depart daily in the summer and free parking is provided for guests during peak season tours.

Your tour operator has been in business since 1974, employs some of the most experienced and knowledgeable captains around, and offers the newest fleet of custom sightseeing vessels operating in Kenai Fjords National Park. So you are in good hands as you journey into Resurrection Bay and Kenai Fjords National Park.

Learn about the plentiful wildlife out here. In addition to gray whales, you may see humpbacks, orcas, and Dall’s porpoises. Snap photos of sea lions on rocky outcrops, rookeries teeming with Arctic bird life, and Bear Glacier in the distance.

A light lunch is included during the cruise, and at the end, enjoy a freshly baked chocolate-chip cookie.

Even on a cloudy, rainy day, it was wonderful. The crew was friendly and knowledgeable. The light lunch provided was great and filling. We saw humpback whales, otters, sea lions, Dall’s dolphins - in short did not disappoint.

While in port on a cruise, I decided to book this tour. Weather was cool (about 40 degrees and there was a light rain throughout the day. Check in was quick and easy. Boarding started about 30 minutes before the scheduled tour. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. During our tour, we saw a couple of eagles and humpback whales, as well as a number of sea otters, seals and mountain goats. They served lunch on board (chicken burrito with chips and salsa). They also had an alternate selection for those with meal restrictions. As we were sailing back to the port, they served freshly baked chocolate chips cookies. Despite the less than ideal weather, it was a wonderful tour.

The entire trip ,right from the start. The captain backed the boat out of a sardine birth. He was very engaging and knowledgeable about the whole area we were in. His boat handling skills are 2nd to none. The crew was courteous and professional. The fresh cookies were a very nice touch. All in all it was a very engaging experience.
