This was a very strenuous adventure. I recommend that you wear good waterproof hiking boots for this activity. Our guides were great and went at our pace, which at times were much slower especially on the way back. The glacier was amazing and beautiful. I highly recommend this activity just be prepared for a long day.

I’m writing this review years later since I am in the app and I just want to say that my husband and I still talk about this tour. This was one of the best experiences on a trip we’ve ever had and we are always trying to top this epic experience and it is difficult! Our guide was so awesome and the views and hike were incredible.

This was a very strenuous adventure. I recommend that you wear good waterproof hiking boots for this activity. What an incredible experience!! Our guide, Dahlia, was so awesome! It's a 2-hour hike up and 2 hour hike down the mountain - with some steep areas - to get to/from the glacier. That part itself was breathtaking, and words and pictures can't describe being on the glacier itself. There's an opportunity to lean over to peer right down into a crevice, fully harnessed. I opted out of that. I felt safe the entire time - Dahlia was great with explanations and instructions!!!

Strenuous hike up and down the glacier but the views and the guide assistance were magnificent! Emily took great care to ensure we made it up and down the trail and safely walked on the glacier.

This was an amazing hike with even better views. I would rate 6 stars if I could. Jack, Dahlia, Emily, Rebecca, and Caroline were beyond professional. They made us feel safe and were amazing guides teaching us about the native plants and the national park along the way. They didn’t hesitate to answer all of our questions. This hike is a tough one even for average hikers. It’s long and up hill, will challenge you and keep you humble. Come with correct foot wear, and clothing. The gear will be provided beyond that. Highly recommend!

Walking on a glacier to look into a crevasse is not for the faint of heart, but we are four very active 60-somethings and it was not too much for us. Make sure you have good lace up hiking boots, and likely also waterproof layers for top and bottom. Challenging all day hike up, up, up (and then down, down, down) with 95% of it on uneven ground. Guides Rebecca and Jack were fantastic. Glad we challenged ourselves and did it.

We had the very best experience with Tate as our tour guide!! The hiking pace was perfect. We felt safe the whole time on the glacier. So grateful that it came with a Turkey wrap for lunch. Tate was super knowledgeable about plants, wildlife and history. She also knew the perfect spot for my boyfriend to propose to me! :) She took some awesome photos, capturing a huge moment in our lives. 10/10 recommend this experience. We had so much fun!

When they describe this excursion as strenuous, they’re not kidding! You definitely have to be fit to do this. I would also add that if you have a fear of heights, you will be even more challenged! I would caution anyone if they have a big fear of heights. Our guide was great and found easier paths for me to follow to help me get down some steep climbs. And if you go in late May, like we did, more than half of the hike is in pretty deep snow. We felt this one for a couple of days.

Don't hesitate and book this hike! It was an incredible expererience and the views make it all worth it! Our guide Tate was the BEST!!! She was incredibly patient ( this was our first experience hiking on ice), very skilled, super kind and motivated us the entire ride to keep pushing! By far the best tour we have ever taken! Ps... wear good snow/ thermal shoes to avoid getting your feet super cold like mine!

Our Exit Glacier hike was the most amazing thing we’ve ever experienced! Our guide Brandon was super friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure we were all safe and comfortable during our hike. Kenai Backcountry was very good about returning our calls and answering all questions/concerns about fitness and equipment for the hike. We had Al as our guide, and her Environmental Science degree was evident in her excellent knowledge of the plants and landscape. Her enthusiasm was infectious. It was an uphill climb and she had several scenic snack stops planned for us. The trail leading to the glacier was a steep downhill. She was a huge help to me there as well as on the glacier. I would not have been able to do the full hike without her help. Thanks Al, for a truly unforgettable experience and lunch on the glacier. We safely explored moulins and waterfalls with helmets, crampons and harness that was provided by them. She taught us how to use all the equipment. They even had poles and backpacks for our use. Highly recommend them for your next adventure.

My family (including two boys - 16 and 13) cannot say enough of great things about our experience! Exit glacier is such a unique place that is changing rapidly that our trip would not be complete without experiencing it. Brandon was a fantastic guide with a true passion for this beautiful place and has made our hike simply unforgettable. I am afraid of heights and was a bit nervous initially but Brandon's simple instructions have given me confidence and helped to really enjoy our hike. Thank you!

If you are lucky enough to get Al as your tour guide, you will have an incredible time exploring Exit Glacier. We automatically felt so calm and trusting of Al to show us the ropes on how to safely tour the glacier. We learned so much from Al about the terrain, and the history of the area and even the future of how things are evolving. This was an awesome activity!!

This was definitely a very difficult hike. It’s the only reason I gave it 4 stars, because I was not prepared for exactly how hard this was going to be. It’s 2.5 hours of uphill hiking with treacherous rocks, then it was 2 hours of hiking on the glacier, which requires stamping and adjusting your gait so your crampons catch the ice properly, then it was 2.5 hours back down the same treacherous rocky landscape. My knees were killing. But We did it! it was tough! Exhilarating and exhausting all wrapped up in one. We do feel super accomplished after completing it and it was worth it.

Fun day! Worth every step! Do it! Our guide picked us up at our motel in Seward. All ice equipment was provided. Felt safe the entire time. The hike is strenuous but worth it.

Chance to see close up the glacier before it gone, about 7 hours moderate hike on ice and land with an experience and friendly tour guide, Adrian! It helps if warn about mosquitoes pray or net.

This was so awesome. The views were outstanding, and the staff were helpful and patient with the clients. Being able to hike on the ice was an experience of a lifetime, especially knowing you were witnessing history. NOTE: This is not an outing for the faint of heart. It is very physically demanding. The guides were flexible and strong. Make sure you are conditioned to make this excursion!

Adriana and Joe did an amazing job on our Exit Glacier hike! They were both really fun to talk to, very knowledgeable about the glacier AND the trail that takes you there. Joe told us about some of the plant life along the trail and Adriana pointed out some bear claw tracks on trees along the way. It was really cool. They showed us around the glacier and showed us so many features of it that you would never know about if you did it on your own.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to get out on the glacier. Thanks, Joe and Adriana!!
