Would not recommend

Jenna_L, Jun 2023
While everything worked out ok and tour guide was sweet I would not recommend this experience. The pizza experience we expected was cancelled so the tour guide was able to locate a replacement tour at a restaurant on a commercial street. It did not feel very authentic, though the staff was pleasant. The timing was changed so that we had pizza mid way through the tour which was not optimal because there was an hour of walking in the heat after the pizza. Our guide was very sweet but kids couldn’t understand her so did not absorb any of the history. She had printed some facts about each site but it we probably would have learned just as much if not more if we googled them ourselves. The tour guide was not a historian but rather an outdoor adventure guide so was placed in the wrong role by the company. This tour is not worth the money.

Response from Host, Jul 2023

Dear customer, your review is confusing and in some places completely unfounded. 1. You start your review by saying everything went well and the guide was sweet, and then you say that you would not recommend this experience???? This is not to our understanding. 2. In your review you say that the experience you expected has been cancelled. It's completely false. The experience you have had is identical to the description of the product purchased. Perhaps you got confused with another service purchased from another company. 3. The restaurant has never been changed! It's another lie. It is in a commercial street, exactly, located in the historic centre that produces hundreds of pizzas a day, it is an authentic Italian pizzeria. 4. The product is entitled "WALKING TOUR and pizza making", therefore the tour guide has to be an outdoor adventure guide and not a historical one. Among our products we have the guided tour of the Vatican Museums, in this case, you would have found a historical guide. It is not our understanding how you judge the proper role of the guide for the different experiences. 5. Your children were very young, which is why we believe that it was difficult for them to understand the information that the guide said, but we hope that they enjoyed making pizza. 6. When you return to Rome, we recommend that you search for the news on Google, they are free, in this way, you will have a tour where the value for money will be exceptional. Best regards, 1 City Tour
