When we arrived to begin the guided torta the tour guide could not come and we were told the company had reached out to us, but they had not reached out to us by text. email or phone. So on arrival we were told we could do our own tour with the audio component. I would not schedule a tour guide. I would download the audio tour and walk at your own pace listening to that. Very comprehensive. It’s such a quiet reverent place that it would be difficult for a tour guide to lead a group anyway.

Terrible "tour" guide for US Tourists

Had us waiting during a massive heat wave, nearly an hour of waiting with no movement. Wrong meeting point and tour guide was moving around while leaving everyone behind. Extremely unprofessional of our guide Olena. It was an extremely unpleasant time. Requesting full refund

St. Peter’s Basilica snd Grottoes

We took taxi to meeting point which was easy for the driver to find and the tour guides were right there to organize the groups. We were in Sean’s group. He was kind, very knowledgeable and experienced. We gained a lot of facts and enjoyed our tour very much! We started our tour in the piazza then into the grottoes to see tomb of many former Popes as well as St Peters. We then walked up into st Peters Basillica and were shown around. It is easy to hear your tour guide with the ear pieces handed out in the beginning. After our tour we had an Oporto walk around on our own. Visit the gift shop. Be blessed by the priest. Listen to part of a mass going on. Then we went up into the dome after purchasing separate ticket for $10 but if you wish to use elevator you will pay $15 for the dome entrance. Our day was fulfilling!

My tour guide Volo was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. I really enjoyed learning a little bit more about Vatican City and St. Peter’s Basilica. Highly recommend!
