Exceptional experience with well-known chef

Alyssa_H, Oct 2025
Such a great experiential tour/taste of Italy cooking with Chef Valter! The group size was perfect and promoted getting to know others while learning how to make fettuccine and ravioli. Valter was very attentive of us students and giving feedback to get the best outcome for our pasta dishes. I would happily recommend this pasta making class to anyone looking to learn about ingredients in their favorite pasta dishes and how to make a delicious dish (surely to impress friends and family!).

Rollyn_M, Jul 2025
We made pasta from flour to table! The group was about 10 people and everyone was very friendly. Our guide, Lauriana, showed us how to make the dough and helped everyone put it through the pasta roller and then cut the fettuccine and ravioli. The result was delicious! Our tasting at the Italian meat and cheese shop was fun, as well. We did not have much experience, but Lauriana guided us through the whole thing with laughs and support. Highly recommend for couples, families with kids 8+.

Wonderful experience. Enjoyed stopping at local store to pick up our ingredients and hearing the history and sampling different cheeses, pork/wine. The class was so fun! Perfect length of pasta making and enjoyed eating our creation. Ended with some fabulous gelato! Our guides Leo and V ( forgot her name) were fun, educational and wonderful to spend our evening with! Highly recommend!

Outstanding experience, great value!

Lisa_R, Sep 2023
Arianna was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable, gracious and patient! She went above and beyond, taking us to a variety of carefully selected food venues. Definitely not a touristy lineup, but quality places where the locals go. Not only were all the food and wine choices delicious, but the cooking class was outstanding as well. We learned how to make pasta, then enjoyed our delicious meal together. Great value for the money, and we highly recommend this tour and guide!

Wonderful guide

Maria_F, Sep 2023
We had a wonderful time. My husband and I have been on a lot of food tours and this one was definitely the best. Arianna was a fantastic guide, knowledgeable, warm and just charming. The highlight was the pasta making session. My husband, who doesn’t even boil water, can’t wait to get home and make some pasta with me. Arianna also gave us some great recommendations for bars and restaurants near our hotel and they were great.

Response from Host, Sep 2023

Really Enjoyed

Melinda_R, Apr 2023
Walter, our tour guide, was wonderful! Every place he took us had a great backstory, and we were really educated on the differences of the foods served in each region of Italy. Spoiler alert, you won't find any GMOs on the menus in Italy. The pasta making class was fun but I think I would have preferred skipping that part and visiting more places, sampling more local foods. We were a party of 8 and it was the perfect size.

Response from Host, May 2023

Thank you Melinda, for taking the time to leave us an amazing review! We're glad you enjoyed our Trastevere Pasta Making Food Tour and our Valter!

This is a must for a foodie!

Matthew_S, Oct 2019
Toni was phenomenal. She knew her stuff, was fun, engaging and I’d request her if you can! We learned Trastavere history, food, market tips, butcher tips, recipes and the food was delicious. Do not eat before this tour.

Fabulous and fun way to learn more about Italian culture

Same as usual, Nov 2017
We loved this food tour, we got to try the local favorites and our tour guide Domenico was phenomenal, he was the highlight of the tour. We had a small group of four and domenico explained to us that entering these shops and restaurants was similar to entering their homes and taught us phrases on how to great and thank them in Italian. We loved all the food especially the porchetta and were happy with such an authentic personalized experience.

This was a wonderful experience. Who doesn't want to try different food in Italy?? this tour covered so many restaurants and so much food it was amazing on all counts. Plus, the neighborhood of Trastevere is very special and a great difference from central Rome. Our tour guide was not only extremely knowledgeable,, he was so nice, funny and made the tour great. I would highly recommend this to all who visit Rome, love food and want to get a close look at the neighborhoods and the people who grow, make and eat the local food.

This was the best way to keep us...

William_S, Sep 2017
This was the best way to keep us upright after flying overnight to Rome. We walked around this small neighborhood and were wowed with the tasty items and the history of the food, shops, traditions. After the tour, we checked into our hotel had left luggage there earlier and were in bed by 5 pm but slept like babies through the night and then off to our cruise ship the next morning.

deborah l, Sep 2017
Francesco was an engaging group leader giving a bit of historical background to the various shopkeepers businesses. The food was great and a chance to spend time as a group enjoying the local area from a different angle than one normally would,

This tour was one of the highlights of my Rome stay. We had a small friendly group, and Dario, our guide, was enthusiastic and very informative about the area and the food tasting was excellent. Would highly recommend, and it's best to come a little hungry. Revisited some of the places in the following days after the tour and was not disappointed.

Awesome tour! Our tour guide, Sarah, was informative and very helpful. We toured the streets of Trastevere of some family owned bakeries, restaurants, a butchery, and fresh market. My two teenage daughters loved the tour as well-- we all had plenty of food! I would highly recommend this tour.

Amelia_V, May 2017
We loved this tour! Food was delicious. From suppli, prosciutto, porchetta, gelato, pasta, wine, desserts and more. Simply Authentic Italian. But what made this tour Great was the tour guide - Domenico. He is truly a Gem in Trastevere. He is very informative, funny, caring and very helpful. We learned a lot about the Roman food traditions and history of the area of Trastevere. We felt very satisfied. Domenico treated us like family, remembering all our names and the food we like. He even introduced some of his friends and relatives in the area. Lastly, before the tour ended, he took effort to call taxis for those who needed ride back to their hotels. He gave us directions to grocery stores, church and pharmacy. I would like to especially thank Domenico for helping me get a cough medicine for I was coughing really hard that time. My husband and I are very grateful to you and your company. We highly recommend this great tour. Small-Group Food Tour In Trastevere.

Jane P, Jan 2017
I am normally one of those lazy people who read reviews to decide what to do but never get round to actually writing a review on my own personal experiences - today I am making an exception. The tour was an amazing way to start our holiday, Domenico guided us through Trastevere introducing us to local vendors and restaurateurs, tasting the most fantastic foods on our way, learning about local traditions, history and delicacies with hints and tips on what to look out for, and how to ask for it during the rest of our stay. I truly can not recommend this enough - but be warned make sure you are really hungry as the food is plentiful, we didnt eat for the rest of the day!!
