Doing this tour on a golf cart is brilliant. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable. Very personable and made the experience a lot of fun. We learned a lot while throughly enjoying ourselves. Strongly recommended!

Fredrick and his trainee were amazing. Full of historical knowledge. The tour was great and I’d recommend it to anyone.

Had a blast on this tour. The Appian way is LOOOOOONG so the golf cart gave us a real sense of the distances travelled by the Romans. Great guide as well with interesting facts and history.

We loved our Appian Way golf cart tour. It is a great way to experience both the Appian Way, catacombs and many other fantastic sights along the way. Our guide Flavia was the best, so knowledgeable and passionate. We would highly recommend this tour.
As an aside it is a great alternative to the huge crowds at other main sights in Rome and easy to get to by bus

Its a great learning experience. Well worth the visit, away from the crowds of Rome. This should be on your list of musts.
Sandra_P, May 2025
It should have been a wonderful tour. However, the tour guide spent most of the time with one person in our tour of 5. She ignored the rest of us most of the time.
Response from Host, May 2025
Hello Sandra, I'm sorry about that. We will double check with our guide to find out what happened during your tour.

Fascinating. A gem tour that is not widely known. Guide was excellent. Well worth the effort to get there and away from the city center.

Unfortunately the weather was not good showers of rain and cool. However, we enjoyed the tour immensely and we would not have been able to see as much as we did without the golf buggy. We've wanted to see the apian way for some time and it didn't disappoint. It will be even better when all the monuments are renovated and the scaffolding comes down

My husband and I were received by a young guide Federico who invited us to take seat in the golf cart and start the visit. He began telling us the history about Vía Apia Antica.
He was skillfull and well prepared. He explained everything during all the trip, walking among tombs, buildings, ruins and chuchs, and answered all our questions very detailed and with great willingness.
We highly recomend this tour.

This is a wonderful activity for someone who been to Rome before and already seen the main sights. I am personally very glad that we did golf cart instead of bikes because we could enjoy sightseeing without being tired or concentrating on riding. The catacombs impressed me more than I would think. And of course our guide was on the point!

The best part of the tour was our guide Alexander. Amazing guy, funny and well informed. We learned so much from him especially because two less about the Appian Way. He explained so much and took the time to answer our questions. It was supposed to rain but we ended up having a spectacular day weather wise. So glad we took the golf cart tour as we wouldn’t been able to walk it.

Excellent tour of the Appian Way including a visit to the St Sebastian catacombs. Our guide gave an excellent commentary and plenty of time was allocated to stopping and viewing major sights. We also visited a beautiful 5th C church, St Giovanni a Porta Latina. There were only 4 of us on the tour which made it very personal. The guide also very kindly took as back to the Circus Maximus and gave us great advice on other things to see. A great way to get a feel for the Appian Way.

Sara, our guide, was amazing. She was very informative and made sure we were having a good time hiring the golf ride. The catacombs were very interesting as well.

Meeting point was a bike shop on the Appian Way where the people there welcomed us warmly to wait and told us where we could catch a bite to eat. Our guide Frederico was simply the best guide ever. Showed us so much history of the land and shared his awesome knowledge with my friend Linda and me. His love of Rome and its history is evident! Simply a magnificent guide and tour! And his care for the customers shines!
Joseph_C, Aug 2024
The catacombs and the most descriptive details of the tour by guide Flavia. The Appian way was most historicall.

Fabulous!! If you’re passionate about history, you cannot miss this and my guide, Sarah, was wonderful!
Judi_M, Jul 2024
This was an interesting tour that I would recommend. Most people were saw were on bicycles to see this amazing area. I was thrilled we chose the golf cart. Our guide showed us so many details we would have missed. I highly recommend this tour if you want to get away from the tourist area for a day.

Very knowledgeable guide. The catacombs were amazing. It is hard to hear the guide when in the 3rd row on cart.
