- Route: 90% of this route follows the ancient Roman paving (basolato) of the Appian Way, where public car traffic is prohibited (resident access only). Only two brief road crossings are needed to navigate between the Appia Antica Regional Park, Aqueduct Park, Tor Fiscale, and Caffarella Parks.
- Itinerary Changes: The operator may substitute itinerary highlights (e.g., for public events or safety reasons) to ensure group security.
- Riding Experience: A basic-medium cycling level is mandatory.
- Guide's Discretion: A pre-departure test is conducted. The guide may deny participation (no refund) if a guest is unsuitable due to lack of ability or health concerns.
- Infants: Infants (up to 20kg/44 lbs) ride free in a provided child seat

This was a highlight of our time in Rome! First of all our guide, Guido, was fabulous- the e-bikes are a bit tricky to learn and he was so patient, pacing himself to ensure we were comfortable and managing our tour route to ensure we took route we were comfortable riding. The tour was beautiful- Appian way and acqueducts were stunning to see amidst all the greenery which is unexpected in Rome. Super enjoyable and highly recommend!

The tour of the catacombs was fantastic as was the basilica. The bike ride along the ancient path was great as were the incredible aqueducts. The countryside was beautiful. Our guide Nima was perfect!! This tour is a great way to experience the complete wonder of Rome if you have the time. We took a taxi to the meeting place and our guide helped us find the bus stop for the way back. All was very easy. Would definitely recommend!!

Our guide, Ricardo, was excellent and very knowledgeable. Riding on the Appian Way, the original road built the Romans, is bumpy making the bike ride more like mountain biking. We would do it again.

We learned a lot about Roman history while getting plenty of exercise. We saw parts of Rome that many tourists often miss, so we felt like this was a hidden gem of an experience. Our tour guide, Ileana, was knowledgeable, patient and very helpful. We ran into issues getting to the Basilica due to of issues with the city buses running late. Ileana was very understanding and greeted us warmly when we arrived a few minutes late.

Guide was good and group was small. A really fun depart from the business of city center Rome.
Note: The bikes depart from an unrelated cafe. Don’t plan on eating or drinking there - people are very rude. Just walk down the street to a family owned cafe and eat in their garden!

It truly was an amazing experience. We are 57 and not in the best shape physically so we were hesitant. Hadn’t ridden bikes in many years. All you really need is a sense of adventure! The bikes do the vast majority of work for you and it is a wonderful way to see sites you would otherwise not see! Emmanuel was a wonderful guide - very knowledgeable, supportive and genuine nice guy! Highly recommend a tour with him!

This tour was incredible. It was our first time using e-bikes and we absolutely loved it. They were super easy to use and even our 12-year-old son, who has very little biking experience, handled it with ease. Our guide was friendly, attentive, and shared great insights throughout the ride. We got to see so much with the e-bikes and covered more ground than we ever could on foot. It gave the experience a whole different feel. We rode through beautiful parks, saw the aqueducts up close, and explored areas that felt like we had stepped back in time. It was peaceful but still full of fun and adventure. We highly recommend it and it was truly a highlight of our trip!

Decent experience but understand that this is not for novice cyclists. The terrain is rough and the instructions on how to operate the e-bike were nominal. My daughter (18) had a tough time and fell multiple times with the “off road” terrain. She was not the only one that had trouble. Tour guide talked a ton about things that were not relevant to the tour. Still a worthy experience but tour could be way better.

It was a wonderful trip. With the e-mountain bike, it was easy to cycle over the cobblestones of the Via Appia Antica. Emanuele, my guide, was considerate and easy to follow. I am 62 years old and it was my first time on an e-mountain bike and it was no problem at all! Emanuele also told me lots of interesting stories. A great experience that I am happy to recommend!

Awesome experience riding through the Appian way and aqueduct park. There were even other ruins that we were shone. If you are looking at taking a day away from hustle and bustle of the city, I would highly recommend this trip.

I would have given 5 stars, but there were no catacombs and that is the reason we chose this tour. The company should update the tour description to be accurate.

For the one in the Ancient APPIAN Way there are 3 different options and just one includes Catacombs entry. I'm sorry if you make the reservation for the wrong option.

We chose this sunset tour as we wanted to avoid cycling in the heat of the day and also needing to navigate Roman traffic. They rent bikes right on the Appian Way at a lovely Cafe so need to navigate busy city streets. The 4pm 'sunset' tour on the hottest day of your trip was a perfect time to do the catacombs as we had the tour underground in the cool at the peak of the heat and then came out and did the majority of the biking afterwards. The biking part was lovely as the Appian Way feels like biking in the countryside. I was initially worried given reviews about how difficult the biking over the stones are but I was very impressed with the e bikes. Our family is active but not super sporty and we handled them fine. Our guide was great about showing us the smoothest places to ride and checking that we were ok, our teenage son ignored completely the advice but pronounced the tour awesome which is high praise. I also found the mix of riding and talking to be just right, we stopped for a quick break got some info about the road and key people then back on the bike.
