It would be very difficult to navigate the capital museums efficiently without a guide Vincenzo was knowledgeable, personable, and passionate. My wife and I had a great time with him and he was nice enough to take pictures of us near some of the displays.

The Capitoline Museums have an extraordinary collection, but it may not so accessible and understandable for many. We have been there several times on previous visits to Rome. This time we decided to visit with a guide. The experience of visiting the museums with a knowledgeable guide was outstanding. Vincenzo, our guide, did a wonderful job of helping us understand Roman history and the significance of the objects we were seeing.

There’s so much history that it’s hard to wrap your mind around some of it, but Max’s excitement about the collection was infectious and he helped bring it to life. Let’s start this review with a little more context. We had just arrived in Rome the day before and had already completed one tour and this was our second for the day and towards the evening. We arrived early and noticed a tall gentleman standing near the statue in the square holding up a sign…And sure enough it was our guide, Vincenzo. Right out of the gates, Vincenzo hit us with a high energy and excitement about the tour we were about to begin and blew fresh air into our wings and got us excited for our tour. Vincenzo has quite the passion for what he does and his energy and excitement was contagious. He offered us deep dives on topics (per our request) and thoroughly, joyfully and with a “WOW” factor that many people cannot provide. We learned so much and had a great time comparing notes with Vincenzo on topics of discussion. He ended our tour with a great view of the ancient Rome that will definitely be a wall hanger photo. Cannot recommend this tour enough and request Vincenzo as he will be the reason you remember your experience at the museum.

Vincenzo was passionate and animated, and engaged each member of our group in studying and discussing the important artworks of the Capitoline Museums. A great knowledge of history, architecture, and art history were all evident in his presentations. This was a tour that is not to be missed.

I can not even begin to tell you how happy we were w Vincent!! He was SO knowledgeable and so attentive to our needs without even saying anything! (Needing to sit or stretch) he even on the side said, I noticed u are taking all the pictures of the animals we pass! I said, yeassss! My favorite are animals! We booked a private tour of the Capitoline Museums with Vincenzo S. and it was one of the best tours/experiences we did in all of Italy (during our three week trip). He was incredibly engaging, knowledgeable and passionate about the history, archeology, and artwork on display. We were captivated from the minute we started. HIGHLY recommend doing the tour with him, you will learn a ton and have fun!

I am not one to gush but this was, without a doubt, the the most enjoyable tour I have ever had. This was primarily because our guide, Martina, was very knowledgeable and very engaging. She welcomed my questions and her answers were satisfying. Our tour (3 hrs) never dragged. Our group was small enough (3) that we could speak directly to each other... without headphones. Her English was clear and perfect. Her short discourse on the Roman view of the afterlife included interesting references to pop culture. Similarly her backstory on a very fine and rare bust of emperor Comodus, was very interesting and instructive. The role and life of the Vestigal Virgins was fascinating. Her explanation of design of the Forum now makes sense to me. I could go on. In short, it was a privilege to have had Martina as our guide.

If I could give this tour 15 stars I would. Victoria was splendid--she made our tour of the Capitoline Museum come to life this morning. My spouse and I were the only two on the tour. We had some specific requests in terms of the pieces we wanted to see, and Victoria was more than happy. to focus her tour on those requests. I would absolutely pick this tour and Victoria to lead it the next time we're in Rome.

When I booked this tour I thought it was a small group not a private tour. I was delighted when I realized that this tour was for my group of 5. The guide's name is Martina - she is a language expert and an archaeologist and is truly the best or at least one of the best tour guides I have had anywhere in the world. My group of 5 unanimously said she was head and shoulders above the other guides we had on a 17 day tour of Spain Italy and France. The Capitoline museum is NOT crowded, has a sublime view of the Roman Forum, and is loaded with Roman-era treasures. My three hours with Martina were one of the best experiences I have had in all of Europe.

This tour was GREAT! The museum contains so many of the amazing artworks and sculptures removed from all the surrounding ruins. It helps bring the ruins to life.
Our guide knew so much history and explained the art so well. We could appreciate what we were looking at. She also made it so accessible for our 13 year old. A very good story teller. The museum isn't crowded and is a real gem. Highly recommend. Possibly (?) the Vatican museum has more Roman statues, but it is much harder to view them there with the thousands of people crowded around you.
