Itinerary

Meet your guide at your Rome hotel, hop aboard the minivan and soak up the scenery on the journey to Florence. Along the way, pass through the heart of the Tuscan countryside, crossing the green valley of the Tiber River to the slopes of the Apennines, then winding through the vineyards of the Chianti wine region.

On arrival in Florence, make a beeline for the city’s most popular attractions, including the magnificent Duomo Cathedral and the medieval Ponte Vecchio. Follow your guide to the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, with its beautiful dome by Brunelleschi, and admire the Baptistry and Giotto’s bell tower. Learn how Florence earned its nickname as the ‘Cradle of the Renaissance’ as you admire works by Michelangelo and Botticelli and visit the world-renowned Accademia Gallery (entrance included), home to Michelangelo’s ‘David’.

Enjoy a quintessential Italian lunch and tuck into delicious pizza before heading to Piazza Santa Croce to see the spot where Michelangelo is buried.

Finally, after a day of discovery in the Tuscan capital, jump back aboard the minivan in the late afternoon for the journey back to Rome.

Florence with a small group

Lezlie_S, Jan 2019
We loved the small group experience with the private van. Gulliana was a wonderful assistant who provided us with background information and the personal touch on our trip to and from Florence. Larissa was a skilled tour guide with lots of great information. She, however, didn’t have the personal connection and was more about relating information and staying on schedule. Afterwards we ate at a darling restaurant and were able to do some shopping. It was great. Glad we did it!

Great time

Can’t say enough about this tour. Our tour guide was great as well as our driver. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company.

The actual tour was awesome. We met our tour guide Giovanni in Florence and he was great. The reason for only 3 stars involved the driver Pedro and assistant tour guide Julianna. We had van problems on the way. The ride back to Rome involved sitting at a mechanic shop for an hour. It was not good.

The van that drove us to Florence only used the white lines on the road as a suggestion and the other cars continued to honk at him, so for a 6 hour journey to and fro was concerning. The guide for Florence was good and it was a good overview tour of the whole city.

One of the best tours we signed up for. We were picked up at our hotel by our driver, Stefano, and our first guide, Emiliano. During the 2 1/2 hour drive, Emiliano told us about the Roman countryside. When we arrived in Florence, we meet our in-town guide, Giovanni. He was born in Florence, grew up in Florence, and it was easy to see that he loved Florence. As we walked the streets, it was clear that Giovanni was well known in town.. I only wish we had allotted more time for Florence. One day is not enough!.

We enjoyed the tour because we had a very kind driver. We like the tour because we like Florence very much and has plans of going back next year for sure. However the guide that was assigned to us there was not ok because we felt he was in a hurry to finish the tour, we didn't even have the time to take pictures. He would say to just take pictures later because we will have our own time. Not happy with this. But our driver going there was very kind. We like him.
