We must clarify that your booking was originally made for November 4, and upon your unstoppable requests we kindly changed it to November 11 without any fee.
On the day of the tour, you contacted us 10 minutes before the start time, stating you couldn’t find the entrance, later we discovered that you were still at the airport and hadn’t even arrived in Rome yet, that’s why you were making excuses like you cannot find the entrance!
Despite this, our team stayed in touch and provided all directions and assistance possible, but unfortunately, late arrivals or no-shows cannot join the group once the tour has started, as clearly stated in the instructions.
It’s disappointing when a review doesn’t reflect the actual events, especially after we went out of our way to accommodate your change and assist you.
Our tours are rated highly by travelers who join on time and truly experience the beauty of the Colosseum at night.
The Night Tour of the Colosseum is completely different from the regular daytime visit; it includes exclusive access to the underground and arena floor, areas that are not part of the standard entry ticket.
We understand you may have enjoyed a cheaper daytime ticket, but comparing it to the night experience is simply not accurate.
We always encourage guests to read the tour description carefully before booking to fully appreciate what they’re joining.

It was very cool to see the Colosseum at night, especially the underground level. The guide was not very engaging though.

The Colosseum itself was glorious in the evening, however, our guide made this tour such a disappointment. While he was an historian, he truly struggled to express himself in English.
Additionally, he rambled a few dry facts during each phase of the tour rather than give context to the history, its people, and culture. For over $350 (2 adults) it was not worth the cost for a 1-hour tour.
Earlier in the week we toured Pompeii and Herculaneum with an excellent guide who brought the cities to life with his knowledge and sense of humor (at 1/2 the cost of the Colosseum and for 7 hours). It was a real contrast to what we experienced at the Colosseum.
Viator, please do a better job at vetting the tour guides on offer.

Such a cool way to see the Colosseum at night. There was a bit of confusion about the meeting point. There was about 10 of us all at the same place which was apparently wrong, thankfully someone in the group found our guide and we worked it out. Apart from that it was a wonderful tour and our guide was great! I prefer this to the day time tour, which is always largely crowded.

We learned so much last night about the Colosseum. Highly recommend this night tour. You are allowed inside to meet the guide exactly 10 minutes before the tour. She took us through the most interesting areas that I would never have seen in the day. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Operator did not communicate with me the customer formally. Sent confusing whatsapp messages and failed to confirm details when requested. Cancelled night tour, rescheduled days, didn’t respond to messages requesting clarification. Ended up missing tour.

For the Colosseum Underground Tours, punctuality is absolutely crucial.
As clearly stated in the instructions we provided, it is mandatory to be at the meeting point 20–25 minutes before the tour starts. This rule exists because once the underground tour time passes, entry is completely denied by the Colosseum staff , there are no exceptions.
The photo you sent is almost ironic, as it shows that you completely CUT the exact areas we described in detail to avoid confusion. That's funny!
Moreover, you already knew you were going to be late before the tour started in the first message it is absolutely clear and once you had instructions and entry tickets in your hand written 16:50 , you asked if it will be at 16:50 or 17:00!!!!! Then your own message to us was sent 31 minutes after the tour had already begun. It means you were late for 31 minute + 20 minutes in advance to be at the meeting point! Total = 51 minutes!
This situation is entirely the result of not following the clear instructions provided.
We are not responsible for late arrivals, and the Colosseum rules are strict: once the tour begins, there is absolutely no way to access the underground section.

This was such a fabulous night! We had already been into the Colosseum, but getting to do it at night, with only a few other people in the entire place was truely something special. The underground area is amazing and just adds to the whole experience. With so few people there the photo opportunities are amazing. Our guide was so knowledgeable and passionate and taught us so much. Absolutely worth every cent!

Very expensive for what you get. Getting the tickets were very difficult and they were not clear how we would get them (text, WhatsApp, email). Several people were struggling with this. Also, no additional information was really given during this tour. I could have just bought a night ticket, walked around and read the plagues myself.

The time of the visit was changed by the providers the day before. I couldn't meet the new time. I messaged the trip organisers to either stick to the original booked excursion time or generate a refund. I didn't get a response and missed an experience I was looking forward to. No word from the organisers.

Very hard to understand the tour guide. There was also an issue with our tickets. We reserved tickets for one time, the ticket time was different than what we reserved, and we were not informed about the change. Colosseum was beautiful though.

Having access to the Colosseum at night was a truly unique experience. It was such a great way to see it without dealing with the heat and massive crowds of the day. Our group had about 20–30 people, which felt very manageable compared to the daytime crush.
The highlight was definitely stepping onto the arena floor and going underneath the Colosseum to see the staging areas and trapdoor mechanisms that once brought animals and gladiators into the arena. Walking those spaces at night gave the whole experience an atmospheric and memorable feel.
Our guide was friendly and engaging, but we did feel that the information shared was somewhat superficial. While the basics were covered, we would have liked more in-depth details, such as insights about the Ludus Magnus (the gladiator training school) and other surrounding facilities that were part of the Colosseum’s history.
Overall, the tour was highly worth it—even if a little on the expensive side. The nighttime access and smaller group made it a special way to see one of the world’s most famous landmarks, and we’d recommend it to others who want a more intimate experience of the Colosseum. A bit more depth from the guide would have made it perfect.

The night time tour was cool and quiet..our tour was supposed to start at 9.15pm but at least 3 days prior to our scheduled date we were informed that the time was reschedule to 10pm and we could accept or cancel. We accepted as it wasn't an issue. The tour was 1 hour long a.d we learned copious amounts in this time. We went to ground level where the gladiators walked and the original floor can be seen. The tour was extremely informative and the guide was great. The tour was cool and we were 1 of only 2 groups there at the time.

I will give this tour a 3 star because the tour guide was so very sweet and her helper was amazing and helped me with an issue I had but overall the cost of this 45 min tour was simply not worth it. Tour guide spoke good English however she spoke so fast to give us all the information that at times her strong accent was hard to understand. Going down in the tunnels was cool but after you saw it for a few minutes, I was ready to look at more. The small video they showed you was confusing only showing Gladiators in different attire. It costs us over $300 for both of us for 45 minutes of rushed information and really nothing to fascinating that would justify the price. Stand out side, take you pictures and move on. Save yourself some money and pay for the golf cart tour which wad absolutely amazing 👏 🤩
