Lots of walking but all guides are knowledgeable, helpful and make the experience so much better than not booking a tour.

Wear running shoes walking is on cobblestones marble slabs . Our tour guide Marcello V very knowledgeable and made people feel comfortable. Learned lots in 3 hours.. loved it

Very interesting! Our guide was informative and kind. It was hot and sunny throughout the tour and she was always looking for places to talk in the shade. The sites themselves are amazing!

The topic and sights are hard to beat! Our guide did well keeping us in the shade, but did not have great strategies for keeping the group together or speaking to us. Simple things like counting family units instead of individuals can really make a difference!

Great tour guide and visit to the ruins. Well organized distribution system that made going on the tour easy. One word of caution that was not stressed by Viator but other guests who booked on different services were aware of--it pulled my name from the profile and did not reflect the passport (Bill vs William). Took a supervisor at the coliseum who understood that it was a nickname and allowed me in. Not the tours fault, and we really enjoyed the day seeing the highlights. Guide was very knowledgeable and kept it interesting and helped the stressed participants in the high heat to get water and shade.

Tour guides make or break an experience. Unfortunately, our guide was just plain boring. My group also had a lovely elderly woman with us. It seemed as if everyone in my group was much more concerned about whether she was okay, than my tour guide was. None of us were in a rush and were happy to move slow enough for her to keep up. Well no one except our guide. And the fact that she was rushing so that she could say, "Go over there and look at FILL IN THE BLANK" as opposed to sharing any valuable information, made it all the more lackluster. There were a few bright moments, but overall couldn't say that I would wholeheartedly recommend this tour. I say that with the realization that a different tour guide at the same company who might have done a stellar job, just wasn't my experience.

The guide, Daniel, was fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. The tour path was well thought out and skip the line tickets were worth it. While the pick up was a good idea, we were told to be ready at 13:30 and were not picked up until 14:15. Otherwise, would have been 5/5!

Yuri, the guide, was ineffective in providing the complete. He had a difficult time keeping the group informed and became agitated when several members were not engaged. Yuri’s presentation speed and language delivery was hard to understand.

We were in group 11 and our tour guide was wonderful and knowledgeable! I forgot her name but the group number was 11 and we had English speaking guide!

Wouldn’t recommend the specific guide not sure if other guides are as bad. The guide kept saying that she wants to retire and is annoyed about doing the tour. Tour consisted of standing for 20 minutes at a time in the sun (could have told the stories in the shade) listening to descriptions of materials used in the construction rather than the history of the location. Half the time the guide was practicing French with a few people that spoke it. Did not give any time for pictures, or show us to scenic area for photos. Missed many opportunities for pointing out sites , as we noticed on our way back other tour guides describing. At the end of the tour many of the people were asking how to get back from the park or recommendations for lunch which she either ignored completely or said she doesn’t know. Also the pickup from our hotel which was a 10 minute drive was scheduled 1 hour before the tour started which wasn’t told to us until the day of when we received a message from the driver that he had waiting 10 minutes and left causing us to pay for a taxi.

Our tour guide Rita was absolutely fabulous, super knowledgeable and so much fun to be around! We loved that she showed us pictures to depict how it looked originally to how it looks today.
I’d go as far to say as for a tour with Rita!! Thanks for a wonderful experience in Rome.

The pick up was great to have from our hotel but the van was filthy. After getting to the Colosseum the tour was really good. It’s very hot and no shade so bring hats sunscreen and water.

Tour was great and recommended. Roger our guide was great. Explained everything well with the appropriate amount of detail and humor to keep us engaged even with tweens. Appreciated how he gave clear instructions, water breaks, made sure group was together and made all attempts to keep us in the shade during the intense heat.

This was a great tour, the hotel pick-up was key. It set the tour off on the right foot. The communication for the tour office was excellent.
The guide was knowledgeable. There is a lot of walking involved.

We had an amazing tour with Rita! She is passionate, energetic, upbeat and funny! I was ready to give up on guided tours after a very bad experience luckily Rita made me change my mind! At the end of the tour she took pictures of every single family in a nice spot in the colosseum! It was a great ending to an AMAZING tour! Thanks Rita! You are the BEST!
