Approximately 20% A busy of the ride is in city traffic.
Guide Chris was excellent in informing us of the history. To ride next to the ancient aqueducts was simply amazing for me.

Imon with Starbikes was amazing. Gorgeous landscape and great e bike. Highly recommend. I’ve been to Rome a few times but had never seen the aqueducts. Truly great experience. It felt empty as we didn’t see many other people while on the tour.

What a great e-bike tour!! We booked a private tour for two. We didn’t start off on the right foot as we had difficulty with our transportation from our hotel to the Starbike location. But we sent a message to the Starbike team and told them we would be about 10 minutes late. They quickly replied, “No problem. We will wait for you.” Once we arrived, we met our guide, Valerio. He helped us get fitted to our bikes and helmets and off we went. Valerio was outstanding. Not only was he an extremely knowledgeable historian and guide, but he was so patient and kind with us. We learned so much from Valerio about the ancient Romans, dating back over 2000 years ago. We travelled through streets, cobblestone roads, and off-road through parks. The ruins we saw were impressive. By the way, who knew Rome had so much green just outside of the craziness of downtown. I would highly recommend this tour and Valerio. A couple words of warning, though: During parts of the tour, you will be riding on heavily trafficked streets, sharing the road with crazy Rome drivers. If this makes you nervous, this may not be for you. In addition, although these are e-bikes, there is no throttle on the bikes. It is pedal assisted so you will have to do a lot of pedaling. It’s not difficult pedaling but just be aware.

We cheated. We ended up on a private tour with Nico, a great, fun and engaging young man. He also happened to have studied ancient Greek and Latin, and had a degree in ancient history. Talk about someone who could bring your bike tour of the Appianway to life! We don’t have the words to say how much we enjoyed this tour, and this day, and our friend Nico.

We took this tour with our 11, 9, 7, & 5 yr old children & it was a wonderful experience! 14 miles on e-bikes were a wonderful way to explore this historical portion of the city. Our young children did not want the tour to end!

Great way to see the Appian Way. Tour guide was very knowledgeable - we loved the experience and the sharing of the wonderful history that is so much part of Rome.
Found the e-bikes an easy, very manageable way to travel on - the stops were well thought out and informative info was shared.

Our guide Claudio, was absolutely the best. We had a wonderful experience, and could not possibly capture with cameras, or describing words everything he showed us on this perfect day. If we had any days left on this trip, we would rebook the same exact tour with Claudio, and go again.

One of my favorite tours from our entire Rome trip! It was away from crowds and surrounded in beautiful scenery! We experienced the greenest parts of Rome. The aqueducts are, like the rest of the Roman architecture, towering and magnificent - and we saw one still functioning (many centuries later)! Sara was our guide and she really made the trip great!! She was fun and super knowledgeable - she showed us parts of Rome (filled with historical stories) that we would not have seen without this unique tour. Thanks!
