This tour is so much fun. Marina was such a good tour guide and very knowledgeable. The ebikes were in good shape and very easy to use. If you don't have an ebike now..you will want one after this tour.... The tour focuses on some stuff that you probably would not normally get out to see while in Rome. We think this tour is a can't miss...

Itinerary

Your electric, pedal-assisted bike tour starts at a central Rome location, where you meet your guide and ride out of the city center to the Appian Way. Dating back to 312 BC, the Ancient Appian Way was constructed to connect Rome to Southern Italy and became one of the most important thoroughfares in the Roman Republic.

When you arrive at the start of the ancient road, you can relax and enjoy the scenery while riding on your electric-assist bike—allowing you to cover a lot of ground with minimal effort while you enjoy the fresh air of the Roman countryside.

Follow your guide past ancient sites like the Thermal Baths of Caracalla, the Aurelian Walls, and the Park of the Aqueducts.

Admire rural Italy, and hear stories from your guide about the centuries-old ruins. During the longer tour option, enjoy a guided tour of the catacombs and learn about ancient Roman burial traditions as you delve inside the subterranean tunnels.

Your tour concludes when you return to central Rome.

I cannot recommend this tour enough. It was a fantastic way to see and experience Rome differently. It was the highlight of Rome for my two teenage boys. The bikes were top quality and our guide Bita was fantastic. We really enjoyed the ride through Appian Way and Aqueduct park with so much history.

Highly recommend!

Christa_R, Apr 2026
This was such a fun and neat experience! Our entire family enjoyed this tour, and the time flew by. Our tour guide was fun, knowledgeable and everyone was so nice. Highly recommend and is definitely worth the money. You will ride in the city a bit and then there is riding just on the outskirts of the city which is a nice change of pace and scenery. We did lunch in the park by the aqueducts. You really get to see so much more doing this tour via bike.

Great family activity!

Natalie_Y, Apr 2026
We absolutely loved this bike tour of the Appian Way and Aqueducts. The four hour option was the perfect length for our family — myself, my husband, and our 11-year-old son. (I think the six-hour tour would have been too long for us.) My son loved his first time using an e-bike! It was easy to figure out and he got used to it quickly. Our guide Cas was fantastic; knowledgeable, engaging, and full of fascinating history about the area. We're so thrilled to have had this experience, and we highly recommend it to any family looking for a unique and memorable way to explore Rome.

Loving Ebike. I love them

An Excellent Day Biking Appian Way!

Darin_F, Apr 2026
We had 3 full days in Rome, first time here. We did the Vatican, then the Colosseum, and picked this E Bike tour as our last major event. So Worth It! Arena was a great guide. We saw the Appian Way, Catecombs, Ancient Viaducts, ate Amazing Pizza at our lunch stop. It was biking, history, and sightseeing all combined. The E Bikes were top notch. We went a full six hours. I would do this again!!

Great experience

Great quality bikes and Good sights!

David_P, Apr 2026
I’ve been wanting to do this tour and glad I finally had the chance. I come to Rome often and feel like I see the same things each time so it was great to get outside the city center. The bikes and checkin went very smooth. I’ve done quite a few of these city e-bike tours and these were they best quality bikes I’ve ever had. They take the time between every tour to service and charge the bikes. I was impressed. The tour guide, Zak, was very knowledgeable, professional and safe. We had mostly advanced riders in the group but he did an excellent job making sure everyone was safe, knew where they were going and answered any and all questions. The highlights were the 40 min catacombs tour, bike down Appian Way and the aqueduct park. Zak did a great job with history and stories on each stop. My only frustration and reason for the star reduction was there was entirely too much stopping and wasted time. These bikes make riding the 13 mile loop almost effortless. Adding stops every 3-5 minutes got annoying. We only had 5 people in our group and every 5-10 min we stopped. Took off our helmets. Talked for 5-10 min and then got back on and went another 5-10 min. It would have been so much more enjoyable to just talk while we ride, pull over and stand on our bikes for a min or reduce the amount of stops. I get having rest breaks but we rode less than 90 min total over 6 hours. If you’re looking for a good exercise and bike adventure this is probably not it. It’s a good tour and I enjoyed getting out of town and seeing new things but this 6 hour bike tour would easily be 2-3 hours at a very relaxed pace and still cover all the content. Half the day was wasted getting on and off the bikes and regrouping. I think next time I’ll just rent the bike and do my own sightseeing course hitting 2-3 times the locations in the same amount of time. I get they have different skill levels but our group was obviously bored and a little annoyed with the excessive wasted time we could have been actually biking.

Don’t miss this e-bike tour!

The tour guide was amazing. Very knowledgeable and engaging. Would highly recommmend this tour. Especially enjoyed picking up lunch and having a picnic under the aqueducts.

Peter_W, Apr 2026
This tour was worth every penny paid! Sami, our guide, was wonderful, and knowledgeable about the Apian Way and the aqueduct. He was able to safely navigate us through 13.5 miles of traffic and rough terrain, which is not easy with 6 adults, but we also had a young kid with us, so it was an extra challenge! Sami didn’t break a sweat, and we all made it safely to our destinations, and were wowed by the views and history that we saw on the tour. Would go again in a heartbeat! My only gripe is that toward the last couple of miles of the tour, the seats started to get uncomfortable, which is no fault of Samis or anybody. Perhaps offering a cushion may make the ride 100% perfect instead of 99%!

Great tour of the appian way

George_L, Apr 2026
Enjoyed this bike tour very much. Bikes were great and so was everyone at the tour company. Brilliant way to say the appian way. Andiamo!

Amazing way to experience the catacombs, Appian way and aquaducts!

Amy_M, Apr 2026
We did this tour with our four kids aged 7-13 years old. The 7 year old rode in an extension with her dad. The rest of the kids managed well on their own bikes, including our 9 year old. They gave us a water bottle and bikes had zippered bags for storage in the front. We really loved the tour. We wish we had brought gloves because it was still a bit cold at the end of March. We brought our own helmets but didn’t need to - they had plenty in good condition that would have fit all of us as well.

Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re so happy the whole family enjoyed the tour 🚲We hope to see you all again soon!

This was amazing and such a fun way to see part of the city we otherwise wouldn’t have gotten to see. Our guide was fantastic and was also so great with our younger son to keep him interested throughout. The bikes were super easy to use and the route on the city streets was well thought out with lots of care and help crossing busy streets. Beautiful sites and scenery and it was so fun to see some of these important sites away from the busy and crowded areas of the city.

Bike Exploration

Hannah_A, Mar 2026
You get to see a lot of out of the way sights and learn the history from a knowledgeable guide. They help keep you safe on the bikes and the biking is a lot of fun! Our guide took us to a great pizza spot for lunch that we never would’ve found on our own. A tip for female travelers, make sure you have the support you need to ride over cobblestones!

There is biking on city streets and on rough dirt or stone roads. Some biking experience is necessary.

An up close experience - magical

Anna_D, Jan 2026
This is a fantastic excursion. Accessing the ancient road, the catacombs, and the aqueducts on bike is so up close and personal, and many spots would not be accessible by car. There are narrow bike paths through tall grass in open fields along the aqueduct. It was magical.

A different kind of tour experience.

Jacqueline_M, Jan 2026
This bike tour was one of the highlights of our visit to Rome. Getting to see the aqueducts close up and ride the Appian Way was a important item to check off out list. The e-bikes were comfortable and made the ride very easy, even over a total distance of about 16 miles. Our tour guide took the time to share interesting information at various points along the route and was always attentive to our safety, especially when crossing streets. Overall, it was an enjoyable and well-run experience that we would highly recommend.
