We got lost on the way to the meet up spot. Completely GPS fault 😂. Hannah waited on us which was so sweet because it was cold and raining. With that being said it was cold and rainy and she did the tour with no complaints at all. I learned so much about the houses and buildings in the city. Hannah was so sweet the entire time. She was professional, personable, funny and so upbeat. She made it so interesting. I loved the experience!

Very informative, but not too scary. Had a good time exploring the western portion of Old Portland after dark.

Would love to provide a review, but since the operator never showed we did not get to experience the ghost tour. No communication or response to any messages. Maybe an emergency occurred, but I don’t know.

For future reference, the starting location is clearly noted in the confirmation details as being by the tall green clock and lighthouse monument in Monument Square—an easy-to-spot landmark in the heart of downtown. Our guide was great! Wish we could have gone into some of the buildings adds that height of scare but it was very good. Be prepared to walk a lot and to walk back to your car alone. My only complaint.

We're so glad to hear you enjoyed the tour! Your concern about walking back to your car alone is very valid. Guides have been trained to offer to walk our guests back to the starting point of the tour. If this did not happen than I'm deeply sorry and I appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Our guests safety is first and foremost.
At present we don't have the opportunity to tour the inside of any of our haunted locations at night. However, many of the locations on our tours are accessible during the day. We hope you have the opportunity to explore more of Portland's haunted locations in the future.

The history was very interesting, but would have liked more details on the ghost. For example, at the Gould house, what experiments did dr Death conduct on people. The guides were very engaging and knowledgeable.

Sam, our tour guide, was great!! This tour is great for history lovers with overtones of an Interest in macabre. Good tour, even for families. While there are mentions of ghosts and other entities, there was equally stories of the history, destruction, and rebirth of the town.

My advice is make sure you will be getting Sam leading your tour. I say this because of reading all of the great reviews about him. We had his wife leading our tour. She seemed very scattered the entire tour. Everyone else seemed to be as bored and disappointed as we were.

It was determined that she wasn't up to our standards for leading excellent tours. As you pointed out, Sam is a fabulous tour guide with many years of experience. He's an asset to our company. We also have Shelia who always does an excellent job and never disappoints her guests. We have two additional guides starting soon who are nothing short of fantastic. The guide couldn't remember the details and had to keep relying on her husband with the tablet and told very few actual ghost stories. It was more "this place could be haunted". The older gentleman that was part of our group was more interesting giving us actual history of the area than the guide with the so called ghost stories. Also, kind of weird to not start and end in same spot or at least somewhere a little easier to get back to the main area of town.

We’re sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy the tour. We never seek to disappoint our guests. Thorough research has been conducted at each location we bring guests to. At no point do our guides simply say “it might be haunted” without a further explanation as to why. Each stop on our tour includes both historical and paranormal information.
The older gentleman you mentioned is a guide in training and that’s why he was included in the tour and asked to share historical information with the group.
Our ending point is expertly planned and clearly documented on the itinerary. The tour ends at a different location than the starting point (as most or all walking tours do) so guests can get the most out of their experience by seeing more of the city.
As a courtesy, all of our guides offer to walk guests back to the starting point of the tour (which is highly unusual for a tour of this nature). Most guests take the guides up on this offer and enjoy the FREE extra 15 minutes of the tour where guides continue to share information on the history and hauntings of Portland. Other guests opt to walk a couple blocks down from our ending point to the busy Old Port and enjoy some nightlife. We like to give our guests options so they get the most out of their experience in Portland.
