The experience was incredible! Chef Jackie was so genuine / informative /engaging/authentic and I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn the true history of South Philly and the plight of the Italian people. She is also very kind and generous. We had a great time!!

Our guide, Alma was wonderful (and related to almost everyone at the Market!). She was so organized and we loved all of the different stops. Our tastings were delicious. She knows the neighborhood well and we enjoyed her stories. It was a perfect Saturday outing!
Jacqui’s tour was terrific. We went to all of the important local shops while she gave us a deep dive into the history of the area. But the most important thing was how accommodating she was. We were about a half an hour late due to traffic and she made up the time and took care of us so that we didn’t miss anything on the tour. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to know a little bit more about Philadelphia and the Italian food market area.
Great area to explore with so much history. Great to chef’s perspective on growing up in that area. Disappointed we had no pasta or pizza. Minimal food tastings- the Barbados was good, but if I am on an Italian market tour…I want ITALIAN food.
It was fun, very interesting and very enjoyable food. Jacqui really knew the History and made it all come to life!
Fun, casual tour of the Italian Market with great stories/history along the way! Each spot we stopped was set up for us making the tour run smooth and efficiently.
We went on 4 different tours this week with our teenage grandson who was visiting us from California. This one was the best and all 3 of us enjoyed it. The food was great and so was Jackie who kept everyone engaged throughout the tour.
This felt like it was a travel back in time to the 1940’s and 50’s with the street vendors and window display at the butcher shops. Definitely feel the “old neighborhood “ vibe. Jackie was great. Lots of energy and stories having lived in the neighborhood her whole life.
Alma was a wonderful tour guide. She grew up in the neighborhood and her family owns many of the businesses, so she knows everyone and knows the history of the market very well. Plus she is super personable. Note: The name of the tour seems to be "Chef-led tour" - ALma isn't a chef but I believe another tour guide is a chef.
What a wonderful time with chef. Great history lesson of the neighborhood with someone who grew up there. Nice mix of foods and local merchants.

Highly recommend this tour! We had a great time and learned so much. Chef Jacquie is a local celebrity :)- knew all the shop owners, and taught us so much about the history of the Italian Market. We tasted great food along the way and even bought some fun things to take home. This was such a unique and enjoyable experience, you won’t regret booking it!
The tour was wonderful! The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour was made better by all the locals who would stop by to say hi, giving an authentic community feel. The food was too notch! A great mix of history, eating, and culture.
Alma was fantastic, and the whole tour and experience was fantastic! It was a great mix of food and an insider view of the market.
We decided to take the Italian Market Tour with Chef Jaquie at the last minute. As locals we weren't sure what to expect, but Chef Jaquie represented our city and the Italian Market perfectly. It felt like a stroll out with family and friends, while eating some of the best food in the city. We learned a lot of history too. I definitely recommend taking the tour and enjoying everything the Italian Market has to offer.

Wonderful tour through the Italian Market. Alma was a wonderful guide, having grown up right there! We tasted great cheese at the Bruno brothers, balsamic vinegar and infused olive oil, hand pulled mozzarella balls at a deli, chips and guacamole, an amazing pork sandwich at Paesanos and delicious cannoli at Isgro’s. So much fun and great stories.

Jackie and Alma were excellent guides who were knowledgeable about the area. all of the stops on the tour were excellent and after the tour, we went and spent more time shopping. Sandwiches at Paesanos were 10 out of 10! will definitely be back to this area of Philly!

Many of the places that were part of the tour typically give out samples. The chef showed up late without any apologies. The tour was definitely not worth the cost.
