Absolutely worth it!

Chef Jackie was amazing! She was so friendly, knowledgeable, and kind and really set an amazing tone for the evening from the very start. Everyone in the tour became more and more friendly as we ate together and it was a great way to meet new people while on vacation. We were taken to some top quality gems in the area and all of the food was delicious! We certainly ate more than our fill and would definitely come back and do it again the next time we are in Philadelphia!

Little Italy in South Philly

We had a wonderful afternoon and early dinner. Jacquie is a lifelong resident of the area and knew so much of the history and evolution of the market area. She made yummy recommendations for snacks at the shops and for dinner. I loved the Nutella Cheesecake. Plus, her suggestion for Cheesesteaks was right on. At the end of the tour, other guest member and I mixed up our purchases. Jacquie helped us get in touch, so we could switch out.

Highlight of our weekend in Philadelphia. Jackie's knowledge was impeccable. The flavors of Philadelphia's Italian heritage that she guided us through were amazing! We will repeat this anytime we return. The food and conversation were irreplaceable. Cucini Maria restaurant, OMG!

Now that’s Italian!

Chef Jacquie helped me make my wife’s birthday special by leading us on a walking and tasting tour of the iconic Italian Market in South Philly. It was a group tour, but it became a private tour since we were the only ones who signed up for the weekday tour. We sampled cheeses and other goodies from two cheese shops; pastries, candy, tea and espresso at a coffee shop, and enjoyed a leisurely dinner of salad, crusty Italian bread, melt-in-your mouth gnocchi, and tasty meatballs at Cucina Maria (plus our BYO wine). Throughout the walking and the eating, Jacquie educated us about the history of the Italian Market from the first immigrants to today. She was the perfect host and guide, and we’ll probably take another tour she offers of a nearby neighborhood. She also inspired us to attend the Market’s annual festival in the third weekend of May. Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

My husband, son, son's girlfriend and I took this tour this past Sunday and absolutely loved it! Jacquie was very knowledgeable about the area as well as the food. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with her and the food was amazing (I will never use regular American balsamic vinegar ever again!). I highly recommend this tour! Sue
