A wonderful tour of fabulous street art in the neighborhoods around South Street. The tour mostly focuses on the elaborate and prolific mosaics by artist Isaiah Zagar, but you also see many painted murals along the route. Our tour guide,Tate, is not only knowledgeable about the art and the artists, but he knows the neighborhoods so well that he greets the residents on the streets by name. Truly, you get the local insider’s perspective. The tour ends at the entrance to Magic Gardens. Be sure to dedicate some time inside to appreciate the magnitude of Zagar’s immersive mosaic constructions.
Packed full of tidbits about the neighborhoods as well as the artists. You do walk for the two hours with only a small “sit down” break. Tate our guide was excellent!
I enjoyed the tour, and Tate was a great guide. I knew nothing of Isaiah Zagar before the tour, but am marveled at the artistic impact one person can have in literally shaping how their community looks. Meeting people that knew the artist added a personal touch to the tour. I really enjoyed the tour as it highlighted a vibrant community and art scene.
Took the Philly art mural tour on a beautiful Saturday afternoon with guide, Tate. He was great- personable, knowledgeable, funny. He engaged with locals in the neighborhood which gave a fun insight to the Philly vibe and artist he was discussing. Would highly recommend booking this tour with Tate.
She shows you unique interesting mosaics and murals that you may never see without this tour. She gives a rich history and first hand knowledge as a Philadelphia resident who spent time in the area at its heyday
It was interesting but it lasted too long. By the time we got to the magic garden, it was 4:00 and most people were tired from all the walking and stops. It needs to be a more concise schedule. We did not just stop at all those stores. It should be 2 hours with sufficient time at the magic garden.
Tom was a great tour guide. Although I have been a resident of Pennsylvania for many years I learned so many fun details about the historical history of Philadelphia. Highly recommend him and this tour.
The trip was really informative. There was a lot of walking just FYI. saw a lot of the city. Our guide, Tate was very knowledgeable of the city and all of the murals highly recommend.

A fantastic combination of art, story telling and Philly spirit. The murals, art and neighborhood were all so interesting. Our guide was just wonderful. His passion for the city was contagious and we learned a lot on the murals and their history.
I found the tour guide hard to understand. Enjoyed seeing the mosaic art but found that there were not many morals to see on the tour.
Excellent tour of South Street and the sorrounding areas. Chuck was an excellent guide. Knows the area and people really well. Showed us good art - mosaics and murals, and had good stories. Really enjoyed.
Our tour guide was very sweet and kind, but it was a bit hard to hear them. If you are hard of hearing, this tour may be tough for you. The focus was mostly on one artist who has a lot of mosaics around the city, the same artist who created the Magic Gardens. I would say this tour is nice if you have never been to Philly before and would like to see different neighborhoods. I would also suggest asking a lot of questions! I may have found the tour more engaging if I had asked for more specifics.

Really great for a date night or a family excursion. Chuck was detailed and friend he took us to see all of the local art, murals, and shops he was kind enough to lets us take a second to grab a bite to eat and re-join the group it turned out to be an amazing day.
Tour fantastic. Dale amazing. Nice group. Beautiful day. Learned a lot about artists and neighborhood. Highly recommend for locals and vistors. Finale at Magic Gardens wonderful treat to an already wonderful afternoon.
The tour guide was really patient with the five students I had on this tour, but this was not what I expected the tour to be and he ignored me when I tried asked a couple questions a few times which I found pretty rude since I am the teacher/ I booked this tour. Up front, our guide said this was NOT a shopping tour but half the tour was him bringing us into stores and shops and we didn't know if we were supposed to roam around and purchase things or not. It was very odd. It also seemed like he was trying to get us to purchase things from places his friends worked at. The wall murals were cool, but we were given not a lot of information besides him reading off the names of the artists who made the murals. Would have liked more substance. Ending at the Magic Gardens was cool, but this was overall not a great tour.
Nice tour of south Philly area around 9th. Saw some murals and mosaic murals. Learned some new history on the area toured.
Though we have lived in Philadelphia for decades (and my wife was born there) we have to rave about what we saw was a total surprise! Martin was a wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide, and his blend of history, art and neighborhood made the city come alive

I found this tour online while looking for options to entertain an out of state guest. It was a home run. Both my guest and I were enthralled. Our tour guide, Carla, was exceptional. As an artist herself she had a unique perspective to offer. I learned so much about Philadelphia and the South Street neighborhood that I did not know before. I highly recommend this tour and Carla as a guide.

James, our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. Provided a lot of South Street history. We met Julia Zajar at her store eyes gallery and Isaiah Zagar at the Magic Gardens museum. The murals and museum were breathtaking
