What are people saying about Philadelphia

Great way to learn about Philadelphia
Randy did a great job of giving us some Philadelphia history and keeping a good pace between facts and food stops. There is moderate walking but it’s all flat so an easy stroll. The food stops were originated in Philly or just great places to try. Nice backstory to Insomnia Cookies and they were warm gooey. Wishbone had mac&cheese that was like a Thanksgiving dinner in one bite! Marimari was also a unique tasting. The last 2 were in the Reading Market. We had cheesesteak from Uncle Gus and soft pretzel from Millers. Luckily we were able to get seats at the market so our group of 12 were able to do a little more meet and greet. We had 5 tasting and it was 2 1/2 hours. On some of the other secret food tours we had a secret stop but not on this one.

Appetite Killer
Chris made the history walk interesting. I make it a point to learn at least two things from the tour.
1. I learned why the donut hole was introduced.
2. The William Penn statue is almost 50 feet tall.
3. 88 million in bricks at city hall.
4. I like the way he told the stories.
I would highly recommended the tour!

Steve Made Philly Come Alive Through Food & Stories
We took a Philly food tour with Steve as our guide, and it was one of the highlights of our trip! There were four of us in our group, along with another guest, and Steve made everyone feel welcomed right away.
What stood out most was Steve’s deep knowledge of the city—he shared fun historical stories that connected beautifully to the foods we were tasting and the buildings we passed. We especially enjoyed learning about the history of the Philadelphia pretzel and the cheesesteak. He also introduced us to dishes we may not have tried otherwise, like tomato pie, and helped us appreciate the traditions and flavors behind them.
Beyond the food, Steve kept the tour fun and engaging. He made us laugh often, walked at a pace that was comfortable for me (I’m 60), and showed a genuine kindness throughout the experience. His combination of storytelling, humor, and thoughtfulness made this so much more than just a food tour—it felt like exploring the city with a knowledgeable friend.
I highly recommend this tour, especially with Steve as your guide. You’ll leave with a full stomach, a lot of laughs, and a deeper appreciation for Philadelphia’s history and food culture.
