Amazing Tour!

Somone_B, Mar 2026
Nina was absolutely amazing. If I could give her six stars I would. She was very attentive, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to explain the history of Philadelphia. She pointed out extra features that were not on the tour and the food choices were delicious.

Philly, food and fun!

I was just excited to do a food tour as I’ve never done one before. I don’t fault the guide because I’m sure he doesn’t plan the locations, but they were lack luster, had no history or backstory. Dale came to the meeting spot with local soft pretzels, but they were nothing special. It was a pretzel. Maybe 10 minutes later, we stopped to try something he purchased from the Reading Terminal Market called an Irish Potato (a small ball of coconut rolled in cinnamon). We then walked about 30 minutes to a Federal Donuts location for a donut. At this point, half the group was slightly irritated because of the minimal food and the distance/time spent already. He then brought us to Carvers for a Philly cheesesteak (finally!). I had asked, “what’s the significance of this place?” No, historical significance or fun backstory, just…a place to bring us. Never having tried one before, I liked it, but it was just okay? We went to MiraMira after and whatever we tried there was good. I got something with scallops. We ended at the Reading Terminal Market and I had wished we had stayed there because of the incredible variety. Again, I’m sure this was the fault of the company, but I was disappointed overall with my experience.

Great way to learn about Philadelphia

Randy did a great job of giving us some Philadelphia history and keeping a good pace between facts and food stops. There is moderate walking but it’s all flat so an easy stroll. The food stops were originated in Philly or just great places to try. Nice backstory to Insomnia Cookies and they were warm gooey. Wishbone had mac&cheese that was like a Thanksgiving dinner in one bite! Marimari was also a unique tasting. The last 2 were in the Reading Market. We had cheesesteak from Uncle Gus and soft pretzel from Millers. Luckily we were able to get seats at the market so our group of 12 were able to do a little more meet and greet. We had 5 tasting and it was 2 1/2 hours. On some of the other secret food tours we had a secret stop but not on this one.

Yum!

Fantastic Food Tour — Barry Made It Special

Noah_C, Mar 2026
We had a fantastic time on the Center City Philadelphia Food Tour with Reading Terminal Market. Barry was an outstanding guide — knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about Philadelphia’s food scene and history. He struck the perfect balance between sharing interesting local stories and making sure everyone in the group felt included and comfortable. The stops were excellent and offered a great variety of foods, and Barry gave helpful context about the vendors and the city along the way. Reading Terminal Market was a highlight, and it was great having someone who knew exactly where to go and what to try. The pace was relaxed, the portions were generous, and the whole experience felt well organized and thoughtfully curated. If you’re visiting Philadelphia (or even if you live nearby), this tour is a great way to experience the city’s food culture. Highly recommend — and if you can get Barry as your guide, you’re in great hands. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A great food tour! A+

Wonderful tour with Barry. We learned so much about the city/ Barry is a passionate and informative tour guide and showed us so many things about Philly we would not have learned on our own! Many thanks.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and took us to some cool spots. We were happy to share and have sample portions but the splitting was kind of strange. Our tour guide used her hands and personal kitchen shears to cut the cheesesteaks into smaller pieces. It was rather unsanitary. One of our group members wasn't willing (understandably) to eat her quarter of that sandwich and another one of us just picked at the untouched part. It unfortunately really ruined that part of the experience for us.

Tasty Tour

Kristin_C, Feb 2026
We had Barry as a guide and he was fantastic. His knowledge of Philly went beyond just the food scene. We got lots of history mixed in as well as ate some delicious bites. It was just our family with him and we have a very picky teen. Barry modified our stops to pick places that had something he’d be willing to try. Blown away by how he went above and beyond. Definitely take this tour!

Delectable, informative and great value!

David was an awesome guide- friendly, knowledgeable, and very adept at finding seating for our group at Reading Terminal Market in a crowd!! The food selection was yummy, diverse and we enjoyed the interactive conversations about local history. We can see why this is a popular tour!

Our tour guide, Barry, gave us a lot of interesting historical and architectural facts along the tour, and we sampled five food items that were all delicious! The tour focused on local spots and gave us an excellent introduction to the city. When one store was still closed because of a snow storm, Barry was able to pivot quickly and bring us to another local restaurant that was also great.

Tasty and Scenic Food Tour

Alex was knowledgeable and cool. A great tour guide! Food choices were diverse and tasty. 10 over 10.

Philly Food Tour

Thomas_C, Jan 2026
Alex was an excellent tour guide. You can tell that he knows and loves the city of Philadelphia. He covered a lot of fun history as we walked the different neighborhoods. The food on the tour was excellent as well.

Poor Choice of a Tour

Vera_T, Jan 2026
Expecting the tour to discuss the Reading Market and take us through the market to different locations. This did not happen. The tour guide sat us down and brought us food. I was extremely disappointed with the tour. Also, the few places outside of the Reading Market visited were not worth the price of the tour. Find another company for this tour.

Knowledgeable local guide

MaryEllen_M, Dec 2025
This was a family activity for the holiday week. Barry, our guide, was great. His obvious enthusiasm for his city was evident as he presented great information about the architecture and history of the area. Our tour included 5 food stops and we were full by the last stop. 2 food items came from the Reading terminal market. Barry was able to accommodate our traveler who had many food allergies at most of the stops.
