Super fun! I 100% recommend this and I’ll be coming back when I’m in Oahu next! This is a must do, photos were amazing and the experience is amazing as well. If you want to do more active things you are able to walk further around, or if you are more relaxed or limited you can still see tons. Pickup was in a van and they called me when they got there so I wouldn’t miss them, which I appreciated. We stopped at three places, took lots of photos and got to try Malasadas! They have different flavors and are similar to donuts or beignets. It’s a small tour group and there’s plenty of time to get all the photos you want. Great tour, and amazing price for what you get in my opinion.

If you are solo and thinking you’d get photo shots of yourself by the guide (although he says it), you won’t. This trip was entirely focused on a group of 2 while us (solo people) sat back watching what seemed just a private photo session for the two people. It wasn’t until I said something that he tried to rush photos, but sunrise was done…. That’s the purpose of a SUNRISE PHOTO.

This tour is a great value for solos and groups. We want to clarify that our tour is not a personal photo shoot which is about $300/$400 but a guided photography experience designed to help guests capture the beauty of Hawaii’s landscapes. While our guides do take some photos, they focus on the scenery, and their primary role is to assist guests in getting the best shots themselves.
Sunrise is a stunning time to photograph, but the lighting remains excellent even after the sun is up, allowing for more incredible shots throughout the tour. Our guides do their best to divide attention among all guests, but we also respect when someone expresses they don’t want photos taken of them, as was the case during your tour. The guide was told you didn’t want photos after the sunrise. The can’t be in two places at once.
We appreciate your feedback and hope you were still able to walk away with beautiful images of Hawaii’s sunrise. If you’re ever looking for a dedicated personal photo session, we’d be happy to recommend photographers who specialize in that experience.

Kurt was great, highly personable and prompt and funny! The tour was even better than I could have asked! Had a great time, seen a beautiful sunrise & sites too. Kurt also had tons of knowledge about how to take good pictures and videos on your phone, while taking some amazing images of your party as well. He also went out of his was to accommodate our entire group, while not losing any of the adventure or fun of the trip. Highly recommend if you want to take a quick tour of parts of the island and catch some amazing views. Thanks Kurt for a great tour & the masalada!

I had a great time on this tour and got some lovely photos. We visited some beautiful spots for views of the sunrise and morning light, and received great advice and lots of photo ideas. This was my second tour with Oahu Photography Tours (the first was a full day circle tour) and both times I felt like I was learning how to take better photos while also exploring. I was so happy to have the same guide, Kurt, on both tours -- he's super friendly, very knowledgeable, and makes the time fun.

The sunrise photo tour was our favorite part of our Hawaii trip! Even though we aren't morning people, the early start to see the sunrise was well worth it. Kurt was so nice and did everything he could to make it a great experience for everyone. He taught us a lot about photography as well, to help everyone take some memorable pictures. The malasadas at the end were a delicious treat!

Though we went to popular places (not off the beaten path or anything), this tour offered a unique perspective because we got to be on the beach for sunrise and actually have someone with us who could show us how to take the best pictures. Our guide was so friendly and helpful, and definitely made the experience. Would recommend.

I didn't know what to expect from a "Sunrise Tour." The experience had its own special surprise. The Guide had a diverse knowledge of Hawaii, and background information, that heightened the pleasure of each stop along the way. There was an unexpected detour, that brought us on a collision course with cream-filled, fried dough delight. I can no longer imagine this trip without this tour. The Sunrise was a next-level experience, and his narration was superb. If you have a chance to take this tour, don't think twice. *****
