I booked a ticket & transportation stood at the pick up location until it was clear no one was coming, got in touch with Crescent City tours who said it was canceled due to weather, but couldn’t refund my $78. Called the number I was given but no answer. Still haven’t received my money. Now I’m using the dang comment section as a customer service line. Booking #1412131469

Why would you leave a review like that? When I clearly let you know, we were completely powerless. And that I would do everything in my power to help you get a refund. I even gave you a phone number to call. And now you trash my company. The only way we can extend full refunds is if a customer directly books with us. If not, we faced the same issue, we have to go through third parties to extend refunds the same way that you do to book Tours, There are so many third parties that sell our tours. This is so wrong. I understand your frustration, but my hands are tied. This is so wrong on so many levels. If I could, I would give you a refund out of my pocket to avoid bad reviews. This is not who we are as a company. And after seeing your review, I immediately tried to call you back to continue helping you get your refund, but you didn’t answer the phone. As a matter of fact, you sent me to voicemail. I don’t know what more I could’ve done in this situation. I’m completely powerless. But this is so wrong on so many levels when I did everything I could to help you get a refund. This is so wrong and I’m heartbroken. I was a Tour guide for another company for 14 years. The primary reason I started Crescent City Tours was because I didn’t agree with the customer service policies So for you to come here and question, our integrity as a company is almost offensive.. These are the things that I lose sleep over as a business owner. All of us need to make a living. I have people that I employ but money was never the motivation for me.., We love what I do over here! And we are extremely proud of who we are as a company. And to anyone reading this review, I promise you and this is coming from the owner. You can expect the highest level of customer service from us!
Very moving. Learned a lot that is not completely taught in the classroom, but everyone should take note. USA claims to be so great, but we do have some very disgusting history.

First, pick a nice day. You'll be outside 95% of the time. Second, pick your tour package carefully. Some may just be a ride, others, like mine with Crescent City Tours, was fun filled and very informational not only on where we were going but what has happened in the area. Being at the plantation was an amazing experience. To be able to see and walk among where so many had been before and learn what actually happened to them and not some watered down version was very impactful. The last stop in the church was the hardest for me. When I was in there and everyone had left, the weight of the place came down on me and I was not able to stay longer. If you are at all sensitive to the blight of others, this will have a profound affect on you and your outlook on life from thereafter.

Our tour guide, Brian, was accommodating and knowledgeable. He shared information about the area and the plantations on the way there and back. He even stopped so that we get a quick bite to eat at a cafe before we headed back to the city.

Outstanding audio tour of plantation, with viewpoint of slaves.
Guide who drove minivan did not have many facts to impart. Just pointed out buildings as left city and sugar cane crops. When asked questions, she admitted she didn't know answers.

This tour was an in-depth experience of the true pioneers of this once great nation. It depicts the perseverance of a people who worked with their hands and were discriminated against because of the color of their skin, building wealth for generations that did not include them. I toured the Whitney Plantation yesterday and it was an incredibly powerful and moving experience. The Whitney Plantation does an excellent job of telling the story of slavery from the perspective of the enslaved, and it left a lasting impression on me.
Our driver, Bilal, was fantastic. He was professional, knowledgeable, and made the entire trip smooth and enjoyable. He shared helpful insights along the way and created a comfortable, respectful atmosphere for such an important and emotional historical site.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting New Orleans who wants a deeper understanding of history. Thank you to Bilal and the team for such a meaningful experience.

We weren't sure what to expect with this tour, but it turned out to be an amazing experience. Our guide was funny and made sure we knew great information along the way. The Whitney Plantation was very educational and worth the visit. However, we ended up at two other stops that were not mentioned on the Viator description. It was not clear what the lunch plans were. And, we got up early to be at the pick up spot by 8:00 and then waited for 45 minutes with no communication about estimated pickup time.
I have never spent so much time trying to figure out what’s actually happening on a tour I have signed up for.

The Whitney Plantation was amazing, it was very educational, I would recommend everyone to go on the tour of the Whitney Plantation it was the real deal the truth. And the driver of the van really knew his history. I would do the tour again.

Carl (the driver) was professional and punctual. He picked us up and safely drove us to the various plantations, swamps… he also shared short fun facts about some of the sites we were passing through.
The van was well arc’s and he drove really well. Thank you.

If you need transport to Whitney Plantation, don’t use Crescent City. 6 1/2 hours on the bus, of which we had 1 1/4 hrs at Whitney.

I’m sorry for your experience. I do not doubt that something happened on this tour that rubbed you the wrong way. But we always guaranteed two hours at the Plantation. And it’s one we always follow through on. But I do understand that some people get a little antsy because we make a series of stops at other plantations and other tourist sites. If that is the issue that you’re having, I would say to any customer that is reading this review. If all you want is a ride to the Plantation we are most definitely not the company for you. We clearly state in our itinerary that we make a series of stops. We bring people to see other plantations. We also stop at one of the plantations and give our guests 30 minutes to run inside and get a bite to eat. We are trying to do far more than just sell Tours. We are trying to deliver experiences. So if all you want is a ride to the plantation and back downtown to New Orleans, there are plenty of companies who are more than excited to accommodate that. But for us, this is a long way to come and all you get is a tour. Anybody can put up some pretty pictures on the Internet and sell a tour we are trying to deliver experiences. It’s clear that something went wrong on your tour. But I guarantee that you had two hours. Now,I do understand that some people would like more time at the tour that is something that I have run into before. But to say you didn’t get two hours highly unusual and not likely. Out of 23 people on the bus this is the only complaint I got for this tour. So it makes it hard for me to delve out any reprimand or punishment to our tour guides. I’m sorry for your experience., I wish it had been better.
Fun and informative driver, extra stop on Laura and Oak alley plantations for drop off of others which enabled us to get a glimose of them too. History at Whitney well told and described. A must!

Before our trip we did a little research on what plantation had more of a chance of educational impact, without the disrespect to the slaves.
The Whitney Plantation was one that focused more on the slaves rather than glorifying other aspects that shouldn’t be.
So much to see the tour was about 2 hours and we could have probably stayed there another hour.
Beautiful art!
Wished a few other stuff could have been open like the big house, blacksmith shop. The girls at the gift shop were so nice.
Bus driver was super friendly and funny.

The Rebellion display and the Field of Angels were the most memorable exhibits. So many people were abused and murdered at the hand of evil men.... just evil.
You can not be OK with this. I'm not sure why it went on so long. The greed and lack of respect for life is disturbing at best.
There was still so much missing and filtered. Hopefully visitors can understand how despicable the era was and how things have stayed the same.

This tour and transportation were excellent. The driver was great and gave us great information and pointed out some other points of interest on the way. The audio tour at Whitney plantation was really well done and informative and the location was really interesting to see. 100% would recommend this trip.
Crescent City Tours also has combination trips with airboat swamp tours, which I learned about from the driver. They very kindly got me squeezed into an open spot and let me join the Rajin Cajun swamp tour the same day and it was fantastic as well.
If my schedule permits, I plan to book another tour with Crescent City Tours to go to Oak Alley plantation while I'm here.
