    Amazing tour! Amazing tour guide!

    Corin_S, Dec 2024
I learned so much! Doug is a fantastic guide—very knowledgeable and friendly. Although this walking tour definitely lives up to the dark moniker, Doug relayed these stories in a compassionate and humanizing way. As a history nerd, I can't recommend this tour enough!

    A Tour Worth Repeating

We went on this tour 2 years ago and returned again with friends this year. Jonathon does an amazing job! He made the history come alive! We love the pace, the facts, and his enthusiasm. His passion for history and New Orleans comes through with each stop we made.

    Thought the tour guide...

    WILLIAM_J, Aug 2023
Thought the tour guide was very rude and condescending Didn’t appreciate him make fun of the people from Mississippi being our friends we were with were from Mississippi. And running down Texas as we are from Texas

    Response from Host, Aug 2023

Hm. Well, the guide in question is from Mississippi, so I doubt he was making fun of himself. That being said, you were the group that refused to stop blocking the walk, even when repeatedly asked, ignoring city ordinance as well as the common courtesy that used to be standard in people from Miss., and Texas. We will not miss your custom.

    History tour

I went to see this tour years ago and it was amazing. It was truly the dark history tour. It was led by Jonathan Weiss. I boasted this tour to all my friends and they seem to have gone soft and left the “dark” part out of the tour. My entire group left halfway through. Embarrassed I suggested it.

    Response from Host, Sep 2022

Huh. I don't see any reservations for Dark History in the past thirty days, and certainly no "Jessica". So, you didn't go on a Dark History Tour. So, why would you write a fake review?

    A walk in time

Jonathan is a wealth of knowledge as his heritage dates back to the area he is personally invested in the history of his community. He truly brings it to life and if you listen, have an imagination you can definitely get a glimpse of what it was like and the suffrage and determination the people had

    Great tour!

Fun tour with interesting stories that were not any I'd heard on previous tours. The guide was very knowledgeable and knows the city well. My son and I really had a great time.

    Response from Host, Jun 2021

I am so glad to hear that you all had a great time, and that it was material new to you! Thank you for coming and for taking the time to review!

Tour guide was very long winded an would ramble a lot and get off target

    Latrese_G, Apr 2021
Some of the stories /half were interesting the other half we couldn’t understand what exactly he was talking about . Tour guide was informative however very long winded and would get off track a lot . Also he didn’t hv good positive things to say about our next tour

    Response from Host, Apr 2021

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the tour. There's a lot of ground to cover, and when answering questions, I have to go "off track" and I tend to give honest opinions when asked.

    Great tour guide

To take in the history of New Orleans with someone who knows what they are talking about, without all the extra gimmicky theatrics, was a breath of fresh air. We had a small group and still showed us the attention we deserved and answered all our questions. I walked away with a new knowledge of an old town.

    Response from Host, Apr 2021

Thank you so much Charity for taking the time to review and for such kind words. I really enjoyed y'all, and am so glad you got so much from the tour!
