Itinerary
Your journey of New Orleans’ rich and storied architecture begins with morning or afternoon pickup from your central New Orleans hotel. Climb aboard the comfortable tour van for a small-group sightseeing trip through the city. As you wind through the French Quarter, admire the fusion of Spanish, French, and Creole design styles that give the area its distinctive architectural flair. As you exit the quarter, you’ll pass the Cabildo and the Pontalba Apartments at Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral, and the bustling French Market. As you cruise along Esplanade Avenue, soak up the beauty of oak-lined streets and stately Creole mansions.
Your first stop is St Louis Cemetery No 3, where you’ll witness some macabre and magnificent tombs. Enjoy a guided walk, during which you’ll learn about the above-ground burial system and see several enormous society tombs, such as the Dante Lodge of Masons. Then head by bus to New Orleans’ celebrated City Park, passing the lovely 18th-century homes of Bayou St John along the way.
Continue north for views of Lake Pontchartrain, including the world-record Causeway and the surrounding levees,. You will reach the London Avenue Canal and see its two floodwall breaches and witness the complete destruction Hurricane Katrina caused to the neighborhood of Gentilly. You can also stop to walk through the Katrina memorial and Levee Exhibit Hall and rain garden alongside the London Ave. Canal Breach.
Back aboard your van, marvel at the beautiful colonial homes along St. Charles Avenue and through the Garden District on your way to your hotel.

Vanessa was so knowledgeable and was so helpful and personal. We learned so much history and saw much more than expected! She’s great.

Isabelle the tour...

Isabelle the tour director is very knowledgable and makes the tour fun and a learning experience.if you have limited time there is a lot to see.
Our guide Gisele was bad.
Ken_R, Dec 2025
Our guide Gisele did a bad job with us. The tour was an hour late and she forgot all about our post tour reservation that she knew was important to us. Then to make matters even more frustrating, even though i was showing her the simple map directions on my iPhone, she dumped my wife and I off 5 blocks away from the restaurant. We had to walk alone in the dark and arrive over an hour late for our reservation for a table so we could watch our college football game. So we only caught the last few minutes.
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Good morning Ken, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your experience at the end of the City Tour. We normally bring our guests back to their hotel. Traffic and road closures downtown on that busy Friday after Thanksgiving can create delays at the drop off time. We are sorry for the delay, miscommunication, and not being able to drop you off closer to your dinner destination, that is highly unusual for us, as you can see from 99% of our reviews and does not reflect the standard of service we have strived to provide for the last 46 years!.
We take your comments seriously and will be addressing this directly with Gisele and our team to ensure better coordination and care for future guests. Your post-tour reservation was clearly important, and we apologize that this impacted your evening and plans. If you are willing, please contact us directly so we can discuss your experience further.
Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.

Our tour guide picked us...
Debbie_W, Aug 2025
Our tour guide picked us up at the hotel . She was very happy and upbeat. Very knowledgable of the history of New Orleans. She is a fantastic story teller. We would recommend this tour. One of the best tours we have ever been on. On a side note the van was brand new and very comfortable.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Thank you so much, Miss Debbie. It was a pleasure to give you your historical New Orleans city tour.
You all were such a great attentive audience!
We can’t wait for you to come back to visit Louisiana soon.

Enjoyed the Experience
Donna_W, Mar 2025
The hotel pickup was wonderful and took some stress off by not having to find the tour start location. Ellen was a great guide and had a lot of first hand experience with many of the city and cemetery sites. She also followed up and sent us a picture taken during one of our stops. It was a very good tour and we enjoyed our experience.
Bilingual tour
Susan_D, Mar 2025
I think we should have been told it was a bilingual tour. There was one woman from Montreal and 4 Americans. It was very difficult for the tour guide to switch back and forth from English to French. Not much time for her to answer questions. She would have been a great tour guide if she didn’t have to keep going back and forth.
Response from Host, Mar 2025
Thank you Ms Susan for your review, I am happy you found my tour guide to be "a great tour guide". You are right, we usually tell our guests when a tour is bilingual, but this Canadian lady booked at the last minute, and there was little time...I appreciate the reminder! Please come back to NOLA soon!

One of the best tours we’ve taken!
Lori_S, Nov 2024
Rene was such a wonderful guide. A Nee Orleans native, he was so easy going funny and very knowledgeable about the history of New Orleans. We appreciated the
in-depth info as to why Hurricane Katrina was so devastating. Really enjoyed learning more about NOLA. Highly recommend!!
Just okay
Stephanie_F, Oct 2024
Tour was okay, but a little long and not engaging. The driver did not adjust the indoor temperature, so it was a bit oppressive in the van initially. Much of this tour is driving, and very heavy in the architecture of the city and the homes. The cemetery tour was good, but the guide didn’t know many the questions our group asked. The driver had us walk around a sculpture park without much instruction about the park. Time would have been better spent getting beignets and not rushing thru that experience.
Response from Host, Oct 2024
Hello Stephanie and thank you for your review, I am so glad you thought the cemetery walking tour was good, indeed this is a 4 hour complete driving tour of New Orleans, with emphasis on history and architecture of our many beautiful old homes. I am sorry you felt the AC in the van was not cooling enough initially! We will give our guests more time to leisurely enjoy beignets in the future, thanks for that suggestion.

Fun, informative, well worth it.

We are so lucky to have him on our staff!
We hope you come back to visit us soon.

Isabella small tour group of city andCemeteries.
Mary_B, Apr 2023
Our tour guide (Ellen, I think) was a local and was a wealth of information about every area we visited. We especially liked the small group of 10 we were with so you could socialize. Her experiences made the tour very more personal and fun.
Response from Host, Apr 2023
Yes, Ms Mary, your driver-guide was Ellen, and we call her "The Gem", and we are so happy you enjoyed her so! We always pride ourselves on having smaller groups, as you are so right, it really makes for a better experience! We go for quality not quantity!
Thank you so much for your comment, and please come back to NOLA soon!

Renée was an amazing guide! He was very friendly, personable, and educated. I would definitely love to have him guide us again on a different tour next time! Isabelle communicated our plans for pick up very clearly and where we were set to go, and how long it would take. It was a wonderful trip!

Giselle was a wonderful tour guide who made the whole tour very interesting and memorable. Hard to pick just one thing, but I did really enjoy learning about some of the history of the city. It was so nice to be in a van with a smaller number of people. It felt like driving around the city with a very knowledgeable friend!

Totally enjoyed the Longue Vue tour and the cemetery tour where we could get out of the van. It was a tour by van mostly. I would recommend it but be advised that its mostly looking out of your van window.

Yet another hit in the tour...
CarlA_J, Jan 2018
Yet another hit in the tour catalogue. Ellen gave us the grand tour of New Orleans. It was way more than what we expected and we were very pleased with the whole thing. She was very informative, cordial and the pacing of the tour was just right. We were glad this was our first tour of the city as it really gave us a handle on the city layout, it's history and some very interesting sites.
