Wear warm clothes and coats! We were on 30th sept and hat and gloves were needed. Amazing sights and photo opportunities. You get to see a lot of ‘off the general track’ sights and insight to Native American culture. Marjorie was a great driver and guide.

Sunrise tour is best time to go great light. Marjory was fantastic, knowledgeable, and spiritual guide.

Sunrise anticipation

Wonderful experience in the Navajo Tribal Park watching the sun rise and learning about the Navajo people. Shadows on the rocks are constantly changing as the sun rises creating beautiful and serene vistas.

Getting out on tour early is the way to go! We barely saw another person. Also, the included back country portion was very special.

Response from Host, May 2025

So glad you enjoyed the early start, it really does make a difference! And we're thrilled you appreciated the backcountry portion; it's one of our favorite hidden gems. Thanks for joining us!

Once again, we had a beautiful morning. We wanted to share the valley and the sunrise with our good friends who had never been here before. We all loved the views, the stories, and the drum beating that welcomed the sun.

Ronnie_G, Dec 2024
“Bruce Lee” was amazing, took such good care of us, tour was informative and he graciously took loads of photos of us which we appreciate. Just the best!!! Would thoroughly recommend

Response from Host, Dec 2024

Ronnie, The Sunrise Tour is a must do in Monument Valley! The sunlight coming through onto the sandstone is spectacular, and having an amazing guide adds even more depth to the experience. We hope your photos and memories last a lifetime! Thank you for the recommendation we appreciate it greatly.

Not what was described in Tour info.

Donna_T, Oct 2024
Our guide Duffy talked way to much about politics, war, how to prep for the end of the world, how bad mobile phones are, told us we needed to educate ourselves..when we got to John Ford point we only had 7mins because of all the unnecessary talking and missed many other viewpoints. Where was the music and craft? So disappointing, it was a waste of money.

Fine arise tour plus educational.

Richard_L, Oct 2024
Duffy did a great tour! Left for a sunrise tour. The landscape & weather & beautiful area was a hit but Duffy also educated us on native history, culture, traditions plus geology.

Amazing Monument Valley

Philip_B, Sep 2024
Bruce was my guide and he was so knowledgeable and he made the trip the fantastic experience it was.

Near perfect!

Shelley_B, Aug 2024
Absolutely amazing tour! Unluckily the sun was partly obscured by cloud the day we went and just kept popping out, but the tour guide Jamison was fantastic!! Loved the singing and flute, one of the highlights of our 6-week tour!

Stunning

Pete_K, Aug 2024

Breathtaking Monument Valley

Debbie_Y, May 2024
Beautiful, spiritual place!!! The sunrise tour is well worth rising early for! Our tour guide shared her culture with us and welcomed the sunrise with us in her own Navajo way.

Response from Host, May 2024

Debbie, The Sunrise Tour is an excellent choice if you want to start out your day bright and early and with a one of a kind excursion. Our guides are the best of the best and will always make our guests experience all the more magical. Thank you for joining us and we appreciate you for sharing your experience.

A very enjoyable sunrise tour.

Victor_S, Apr 2024
We went off the main road to see a wonderful sunrise, and unique arches and formations. Our guide explained the importance of the sacred beliefs of the Navajo people. He also gave interesting insights to his peoples’ lives. As much as those were important and revealing, we felt that he dwelled on some points excessively which created a feeling of “stretching” to fill time. Otherwise, it would have been 5 stars. Consider this a 4.5+ review. I was also glad we rode in their van rather than our car. The road, and especially the side roads, really require an off road, 4 wheel drive. We got tossed around quite a bit in their van. Yet, overall, a very interesting, enlightening, and enjoyable experience.

Bundle up and enjoy the view

Patricia_B, Apr 2024
Gracious guide, beautiful sunrise, once in a lifetime experience but dress warm and it will be a bumpy fun ride.

Response from Host, Apr 2024

Patricia, The Sunrise Tour of Monument Valley is the perfect opportunity to experience the gorgeous landscape in such beautiful lighting. It can be chilly in the mornings so it's always important to check the weather and temperatures to dress for the occasion. Thank you for joining us and have a great day.

The best way to see and experience Monument valley,

Adrian_P, Mar 2024
Such a unique and wonderful experience bought to life by our guide Cheryl. You get to visits some of the best parts of the valley which are only accessible to tours, and this really makes the tour really unique. Learning so much about Navajo traditions and the importance of the tribal park made it really the best way to discover Monument valley. The sunrise was the icing on the cake!

Response from Host, Mar 2024

Adrian, We highly appreciate you leaving us a five-star rating. We are so very glad you had a delightful time in your sunrise tour. The sun along with the monuments makes an absolutely stunning view. Cheryl is awesome and we will be sure to let her know she’s doing a great job. Have a great rest of your evening and safe travels!

Beautiful country and scenery.

JoseL_G, Nov 2023
The sunrise and the monuments. Our Navajo guide was pleasant, knowledgeable and knew the attraction of each stop and directed us where to go to enjoy the unique character and sight of each location.

Sunrise with Margery

Greg_J, Oct 2023
Our guide Margery was wonderful. She took time to tell us of her personal native history and the people that live in the Valley. I would highly recommend asking for her. There were so many wonderful experiences but 2 that stick out were experiencing the sudden explosion of the sunrise into the Valley. The second was experiencing the viewing of the petroglyphs and the arches.

Response from Host, Feb 2024

Hello Greg, Thank you so much for joining us on the Sunrise tour. The tour is a great way to be able to see the spectacular views of the valley. We are so glad you had a wonderful time with our guide Marjory. We will be sure to let her know that she is doing an amazing job. We are so glad that you were able to leave the tour with more knowledge about the Navajo tribe and take some beautiful photos of the landscape. We appreciate this great five-star recommendation and hope to see you again soon.

Good Day Sunshine!

Linda_C, Jul 2023
Sandrea was an awesome guide. Her personal stories mixed with Navaho Nation history plus the breath taking rock formations and sunrise made it an unforgettable experience. Visitors should bring a jacket even in summer due to wind from the open trucks.

Response from Host, Sep 2023

Linda, We are always so happy to hear that our guest had a great time on tour. Thank you for letting us know how our guide Sandrea is doing, we will be sure to let her know she’s doing a fantastic job! The Sunrise Tour is an amazing experience that is filled with adventure and stories. Thank you so much for joining us, we hope to see you again soon.

Excellent photo ops

Lisa_W, Jul 2023
Enjoyed this tour. Bring water and snacks. Dress warm (layers) because it gets cold in the moving truck at lower elevations surrounded by the rocks. (If I did it again I’d wear a winter hat for my head/ears.) The meeting point is not clear in the voucher instructions — the truck is parked in a designated tour loading area opposite the guest parking lot near the front entrance. You have to walk down a flight of steps to get to the truck. At 4:45 am it’s dark so there’s no way to see that’s where you’re supposed to go. Margorie was a fantastic guide and helped us get some great photos.

Response from Host, Sep 2023

Lisa, Hello we are glad to hear that you had a good time. It can be chilly as the sun is setting so it is a good idea to bundle up a little bit. We will let Marjory know that she did a great job on tour for you guys. Thank you for leaving this great review and giving us a 5-star rating. Have a great day and we hope to see you again soon.

Great Tour of Monument Valley with Marjory

John_C, Jul 2023
Great tour by Marjory - early start! Sunset tours all booked. Got up at 3am for 5am an hour away. I checked for time differences as I saw that some had misinterpreted the time. There was no time difference between bluff Utah and Monument Vally Arizona. Has to be seen to be believed - photos I have seen do not do it justice. Marjory was a happy guide and we went on rods not assessible to non tour travelers. Lots of information given, Well worth the early start.

Response from Host, Sep 2023

John, Yes, our Sunset Tours start early in order to experience that magical moment of the sun shining onto the valley. Here at Monument Valley Tribal Tours, we acknowledge the daylight savings time! Which is why we follow the same time zone as Utah. It is truly a breathtaking view and a scene straight out of a movie. We are glad you had a great time with Marjory, our guide. We hope to see you again soon, have a great rest of your day.

Majestic

Kevin_P, Jun 2023
One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. Beautiful sunrise and unforgetable sunsets. My favorite is the Sunrise Tour.

Response from Host, Sep 2023

It was early, but it was...

Mary_H, May 2023
It was early, but it was worth it. Our guide was wonderful. She even provided us with blanket Come the morning cold. Will not regret going.

Great tour!

Sheng_W, May 2023
We had a great time and enjoyed so much watching sunrise at totem pole. Thank our tour guide Marjory so much for sharing interesting stories about rocks.
