The tour was very very good. John, our guide, was most personable and took extra care to be sure each participant had the ultimate experience. The Valley is majestic and John took time to explain the different formations, Navajo believes and practices, history and lore of the Navajo Nation. We recommend both the tour and John as your guide.

This was such a great tour. We had Joe as the driver and guide. He explained different parts of the Navajo culture both past and present. Helped us with camera angles and settings to get the best pictures. He was funny and knowledgeable. I took my older parents who stayed in the transport at the stops. Climbing the 2 step latter type steps was a little hard for them. Be careful on the rocks, with sand on the bottom of your shoes makes the rocks slippery, which Joe did warn us about. I would definitely take this tour again

Very good tour of Monument valley

Shirley_K, Jul 2026
The tour was very good, we drove around the 17 Mile drive and into private restricted area and told us about the sites we were seeing. Water was supposed to be included but we didn't get any, we might have if we asked for it but no one did. Finding the tour at the View Hotel was confusing because we didn't know the name of our tour other than Three Hour Monument Valley Tour but we needed the company name because there are many tours meeting at The View Hotel.

Incredible tour. Would recommend to anyone to take this tour. We had the whole family including my 82 year old mother. Everyone loved it.

Great time was had !

Laura_F, Jul 2026
Our 3 hour tour in Monument Valley was incredible. Our Navajo Tour Guide Bobby was very knowledgeable and shared his heritage with us. At one point under the Arch, he began to play his Indian Flute. He truly made our visit even more memorable ! We would highly recommend Bobby from Monument Valley Safari !

Fascinating and Worth While Tour

Tammy_K, Jul 2026
Joe is an excellent tour guide who has first hand knowledge of Monument Valley and Navajo life. He is fascinating to listen to and offers an experience to the valley that you can’t get from driving around on your own. Joe gives a mixture of history, tips on photos, and behind the scene highlights that without this tour would be missed. We had 12 people in our group and we all agreed this was a worth while 3 hour adventure!

Fantastic Tour!

This tour takes you back into the far reaching portions of Monument Valley where you see Arches and canyons and native settlements. It’s so much better than just driving the short tourist loop by yourself. Our tour guide Jim was excellent and really gave us a great tour.

Helps you fully appreciate the majesty of Monument Valley!

An incredible way to see the beauty and hear the history of Monument Valley. Our tour guide John was informative and funny. He knew more about our phone cameras than we did!

More Than Just a Tour

Steve_G, Jun 2026
Don was awesome. He showed us how to take beautiful pictures. His knowledge or the past, various movies stars and such and what all they did. Showing more detail in the area that I am sure not everyone else knew about and quite sure the other guides did not nor could not tell. In all, at the end my wife and I thought we just had a three hour college course. Unbelievable and remarkable. Many thanks to Don.

Fantastic tour

Gorgeous scenery and a wonderful tour guide named Joseph. Highly recommend! Able to see areas that the public can’t access.

3 Hour Sunset Tour

Lizard_M, Jun 2026
The tour was very informative. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable of the area. He told us family stories and took us to spots that can only be seen by taking this tour. The stop where they play the flute and sing was amazing. Really enjoyed that. The reason for only 3 stars was because this was advertised as using an open air truck for the tour. What we got instead was an old Chevy Suburban. We were a party of 3 and 2 of us had to sit in the back where we couldn't really see clearly and the windows did not go down. It was also hard to hear the tour guide from the back. I was very disappointed as this was not the vehicle that was listed in the description of the tour and getting in and out of the Suburban throughout the tour was quite challenging. I have read other reviews and someone else had this same issue in May. So buyer beware.

Amazing insight to monument valleys secrets

What an amazing experience!!. Tour guide was so knowledgeable and happy to share it with us. So much more than we expected.

Valley tour

PHILIP_U, May 2026
If you want background & information about the valley as well as better photo opportunities a guided tour is the only way to go. We visited a family homestead & learned about beliefs & interpretation of their art. You get to restricted areas only available to tour buses. Our guide Derek was informative & obviously proud of his heritage. Highly recommended.

What an amazing tour (and guide) we had in Monument Valley! Yvonne took us all around the 17 mile loop, making sure to let us stop for plenty of pictures and informing us of all the formation's names and history of the Navajo people and the valley. She also gave us tons of helpful photograph tips to make sure we captured the best shots possible. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone!

Joseph was AWESOME!! He was so knowledgeable and gave us so much information. We are so glad we chose to do the tour. It was great!

Wow!

Claudia_F, May 2026
Our guide, Bobby, was very knowledgeable. He provided interesting information not only about the natural structures but also the Navajo and other Indian cultures. He and another guide performed a very moving set of native music with guitar, flute, and drum. The echoing music was almost spiritual. I'm not easily impressed but I would highly recommend this tour. We did the 3 hour tour that started at noon. The sunrise and sunset tours would probably also be excellent but midday was great.

The tour operator vehicle...

edward_c, May 2026
The tour operator vehicle was a old suburban suv when my wife getting the inside of vehicle was very difficult to get in because the suv too high and without a step or small chair to get in, so she was getting hurt and bleeding on her leg , then the driver/tour guide didn’t provide any first aid support, and he was so rude to my wife saying if she didn’t like the tour, the driver said he can take her back to the meeting point and get a refund, we have been so many Viator tours since 2014, we are a loyalty customer, I am demanding a refund and apology from the tour operator and your company

Response from Host, May 2026

I’m really sorry this happened. As the owner of Monument Valley Safari, I take full responsibility. An older SUV shouldn’t have been used on that tour, it was too high and lacked a proper step, and that’s on us. Your wife getting hurt and then not getting any first aid or kindness from the driver is completely unacceptable. That’s not how we treat guests, especially longtime loyal ones like you. I’m refunding the full amount right away and I’m sending a personal apology to both you and your wife. This should never have happened, and we’re already making changes so it doesn’t happen again. Thank you for telling us. We value customers who’ve been with us since 2014, and we hope you’ll give us another chance to get it right next time.

The Monument Valley tour was a wonderful experience. Our guide Joseph was very informative and I loved the stories he told. He was also great with capturing the best photos to highlight our trip. We got to experience Monument Valley in a way we wouldn't have seen otherwise. I am so glad we were able to spend the time to see it this way versus just driving through. Would highly recommend!

The guide was fabulous and told us all about Monument Valley. The open air vehicle was very comfortable and we got to go to areas that are off limits to the public.

Bright morning tour

Charles_F, Apr 2026
It is an open air Jeep but they provided blankets on this chilly morning. Guided were knowledgeable and the sights were well worth the trip. I believe the guide provided insights that wouldn’t be available to a self guided tour

Beautiful and Amazing

Chip_C, Apr 2026
Phots and various movies do not due justice to the beauty and serenity of this place. It’s remote and it’s a bumpy ride in spots but worth it!
