Took the Sunset Tour and it was perfect. Small group, great guide, perfect lighting. Strongly recommend doing a tour over self drive-allows you to relax, enjoy the sights, hear stories you would otherwise miss and go places only the guides can go. Highly recommend!!!

We love Larry!! Larry was great at informing us of the history of the area and also at taking great photos.

Wonderful Sunset Tour

Shannan_B, Apr 2026
Larry was amazing and he played his wooden flute for us. The ride was very bumpy, so be prepared, but we had a good time. There were several wild horse sightings. We had a chance to get fry bread and look at what local vendors had for sale. The sunset tour was beautiful.

Plan extra time for the line to get to The View hotel meeting location. Might want a scarf or mask for dust. The tour is amazing and I would do it again!

Travis is a truly terrific guide. He was very knowledgeable and his playing music for us was an expected delight. The drum at sunset in the sandbox was truly a moving and spiritual experience.

Amazing tour that took us off the beaten path to some very cool spots within Monument Valley. Our guide Nate was knowledgeable and very talented with a flute.

Memorable sunset tour - thanks Travis!

Sunitha_B, Apr 2026
The tour started off very quiet - I was nearly disappointed, but Travis and his fellow guides put on an unforgettable performance- sharing their beautiful music with us at various points in the tour. Just before the final stop, Travis shared great stories about his heritage, lineage and philosophy. Highly recommend this tour!

Great experience. We had already driven the loop but the off road experience takes you places off the loop and you’re able to see arches not seen on the road. Our driver Travis was outstanding and shared his personal family story and how he is connected with the area,

The only way to experience Monument Valley!

Sarah_C, Mar 2026
Our tour was a full three hours and explored parts of Monument Valley that are not viewable on your own. Our guide, Travis, was amazing. We never felt rushed, he took us to the most photogenic spots and he shared his vast knowledge of MV and the Navajo people. It was a very spiritual experience we will never forget!

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Sarah, We highly appreciate you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review as well as a five-star rating. It sounds like your sunset tour was truly unforgettable! Travis’s ability to share the beauty, history, and spirit of Monument Valley while giving you time to fully take it in makes all the difference. Exploring hidden corners with a knowledgeable guide like him turns a simple visit into a deeply memorable and spiritual experience. We’re thrilled you had such a meaningful adventure and hope the memories—and photos—stay with you for a lifetime!

Chengxi_L, Mar 2026
Travis made the sunset tour a truly memorable experience. He had a deep understanding of Navajo history and culture and a knack for storytelling. He is also a talented musician, and we were blessed with his songs at multiple points along the trip. This tour took us to sites not accessible to the general public - highly recommend taking this tour rather than just driving through Monument Valley on your own.

Travis is an awesome tour guide

Cynthia_S, Mar 2026
We had the best Navajo tour guide named Travis. He was awesome and very knowledgeable about the history of Monument Valley. I would recommend him to anyone.

Spectacular!

CAROL_C, Feb 2026
The company was extremely flexible about our tour times and went the extra mile to accommodate us. Travis was an exceptional guide. He made our tour unforgettable with his music and insight. Seeing the petroglyphs and formations accompanied by music and stories was powerful. Highly recommend

Carol, We always try our best to accommodate our guest, it’s our mission to make every trip smooth, fun, and easy going! Travis is truly one of a kind and we will be sure he hears to keep up the fabulous work. The musical performance is a heartwarming moment in our tours that we feel everyone should get to experience. We highly appreciate your recommendation and are so thankful for the five-star rating as well. Thank you once again Carol for joining us and we wish you the very best.

Please ask for Travis as a guide!

Manny_A, Feb 2026
Wonderful visit! Travis was a great guide and an interesting human being which the experience even better. Lots of understanding to the Navajo culture was left with us, as he educated us with spoken history accompanied with his music talent. He played for us in 3 different location, and listening to him play traditional Navajo song standing next to this giants red rock felt very spiritual. The only reason I give it 4 stars and not 5 is the logistics. The Viator ticket doesn't indicate the name of the company and identifying Travis took a call to the Viator support. Completely uneeded. Regardless, once we were hooked and traveling in the park, everything was exceptional. Highly recommend ♥️

Great Experience

Deborah_E, Jan 2026
Great Tour! Travis was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable about the Navajo People, their culture, customs, etc. Added bonus, he is the grandson of a World War ll “Code Talker”.

Best Guide EVER

duffenuff, Dec 2025
Travis was a super guide. As a musician he performed for our small group (7 in a van) more than once. He played a flute blessing in our stop at the hogan and the flute and hand held drum while singing a blessing at the Big Hogan. He was extremely knowledgeable and shared his love for his heritage and people and the land. Really aren’t enough superlatives to describe this experience. Felt very personal and special.

Travis (Dark Sky) is the best tour guide!

Akiko_R, Nov 2025
Our tour guide is Travis ( Dark Sky) took us a great tour. He explained the history, geography very well. Showed us the best picture spots and took a lot of great pictures for us. He plays flute and drum. It was absolutely beautiful! We were able to capture many pictures! Thank you!

Tribal Tours was the way to see Monument Valley!

Bill_W, Oct 2025
Travis was a great guide with Tribal Tours. He played a flute that echoed through the canyon and told us about how his father told him the stories of their people through the petroglyphs. The sun setting through Monument Valley was spectacular. My brother wanted to do it, now I need to come back with my wife and daughter. It was well worth it!

Amazing opportunity to see Monument Valley

Gail_M, Oct 2025
We had a wonderful tour with Jameson. He shared great information about the land formations, his culture, music, and history. It’s a bumpy ride and you are sitting outside so dress appropriately.

Jaw dropping

Tejal_C, Oct 2025
The monument valley is jaw dropping gorgeous and thanks to our guide we had a wonderful tour of the valley. Our guide gave us a taste of the local Navajo flavor by singing a couple of beautiful songs . An experience that will stay with us for a long time

Trip of a Lifetime

Bonnie_C, Oct 2025
If you’re a senior, a pillow helps with the many, fun bumpy trails. It can get chilly. A beanie and vest works.
