I surprised my wife with a 2hr horseback tour. We were greeted by Nelson who was very kind and knowledgeable about the horses and the area. The views and the experience were stunning to say the least. Couldn’t be happier with how this turned out. Thank you Nelson and Sacred Monument Tours! We will be back!

This was a wonderful ride led, for us, by Ezekiel. The ride got close by the west mitten and along sentinel mesa, down in the wash and back up on sure footed horses (Mack and Kansas). You won’t regret this ride.

Amazing experience

Marco was amazing and it was a magical experience! We walked right through Monument valley and got great photos. He was very helpful.

Do it!! Highlight of monument valley

Kimberly_S, Feb 2026
Our horseback tour through Monument Valley was the highlight of our trip. There’s something so surreal about being right up against the red rocks instead of just looking at them from a car window. Our guide was also fantastic. He didn't just give us facts; he shared personal stories about Navajo culture and what this land means to them. The horses were incredibly sweet, the pace was nice and relaxed, and the views were just unbeatable. Five stars doesn't even do it justice!

Serene, surreal and...

Serene, surreal and blissful. We had an out of the world experience, what a great way to experience monumental valley. Highly recommend. P.S - it was not first time on a horse and yet it was an easy and fun experience.

The best

I recommend this to everyone. My husband and I had an amazing adventure. The guide was fantastic and everything was exactly as it should be. I warmly recommend it — don’t hesitate.

Unique Experience

Michael_M, Oct 2025
Whilst we enjoyed our ride - we didn’t learn anything about the history of the land or Navajo people. There needs to be time planned between groups - so individuals riders / bookings get value for their booking ie full 2-hour ride.

Wonderful!

Miranda_V, Oct 2025
I booked the tour for my myself, my dad, and my sister for my dad’s bucket list trip and it was flat-out amazing. What a wonderful experience! The tour guide was nice and knowledgeable and took our pictures for us. It was great!

Horseback at Monument Valley

Nice views of the Valley. Nice time. The tour guides were a bit quiet but helpful. The guides allowed for plenty of photo ops.

Amazing experience

Valentina_R, Aug 2025
It was amazing! Highly recommended to anyone who loves horse riding in the nature and wants to see unacessible areas of the monument valley😍

Awesome Horseback Riding Experience right in Monument Valley!

Sean_T, Jul 2025
Excellent opportunity to ride right into Monument Valley, hear some history and hear some great singing Marco was a great young guide with a lot of knowledge.

Marco was a great guide...

Julen_B, Jun 2025
Marco was a great guide and explained everything we requested. Dont expect trotting nor running, is just a very chill/slow pace but still it was good!

most memorable experience!

Judith_v, Jun 2025
fantastic horseback riding trip through monument valley with experienced guide who is also navajo. Very comfortable experience also.

Awesome

Coen_v, Jun 2025
Great experience. Our tourguid Ranger (nickname) was awesome. Had a lot of knowledge about the valley. The horses were great. You feel absolutely free over there. 5 stars by far.

Be careful

Gareth_L, May 2025
Safety is not a priority. They are only interested in getting you to sign the waiver No practice before beginning the tour. Our guide was young and a bit of a show off. He fell from his horse a number of times during the tour. About three quarters of the way through, the horse I was on reared up & threw me off causing injury to my lower back.

Great guides! Fun adventure!

Teresa_M, May 2025
Ranger and Logan were great guides. They shared stories about their heritage and their desire to teach others about it. They were both great guides and very patient with us novice cowboys! The horses were gentle. We enjoyed seeing some of the monuments very close. Would recommend to all!

Monument valley horse back riding

It was absolutely magical. It was my first time horse back riding and the guide was great. My horse was amazing. She was gentle and lead very well. The views are magical. Highly recommend it.

Horseback in monument valley

Teresa_S, May 2025
We had a very windy day , I asked if they were still going out & he said if I still wanted to. I said if he was willing I was too. They had good horses, clean equipment & the place & the horses were well taken of. I go with them again!!!

Amazing...

Amazing experience. The guides explained everything well. Overall we will never forget this sacred place

Such a great experience <3

Angela_R, May 2025
Our group loved this tour! There were 6 of us, and our guide was Adam. We arrived at 1:30, but we didn’t actually start riding until 2:30 by the time the horses were saddled up. So the actual tour was about an hour and 30 minutes which was perfect. We all felt like that was an enough time so if you’re doing this for the first time and you’re unsure whether to book one hour or two, go ahead and do the 2 hour. You won’t be disappointed! Got to see several monuments up close, learned about some movie scenes shot there and also some of the local plants. Awesome experience and the best way to see the monuments in places you cannot reach with a car. The horses were tame and well behaved except one of the babies which was so cute. He was frisky but a good listener and just needed a little pat here and there. I’d take my family back another time, it was great! Thanks!!

The Perfect Valley Tour!

Carrie_G, May 2025
This was our favorite tour! A perfect way to explore the Valley and really feel like a part of it. The horses were wonderful and the guide also great. He also took pictures for us which was nice!

Not a 2 hour tour

Luc_M, Apr 2025
It’s a 45 minute tour not a 2 hours. Better to know before booking. It’s a good tour but very expensive for 45min

Beautiful adventure but FYI

Jacob_J, Apr 2025
The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Horses were gentle and sturdy. Such a beautiful time to do the ride is in the evening. One major problem was that we booked the 2 hour ride but we came back 1 hour early. Very frustrating. I would advise others to confirm with your guide before you leave that he is aware of the length the ride is supposed to be. Major bummer for our trip because we paid for 2 hours but only got one.

The overall riding...

Wang_Y, Apr 2025
The overall riding experience was fantastic! The horses were gentle and easy to handle, and the guide was very professional and friendly. The views along the way were beautiful and made the ride truly enjoyable. However, although we booked a 2-hour ride, the actual riding time was only about 1 hour. It would have been even better if the full time was provided. Still, it was a wonderful experience, and I would definitely recommend it to others who love horseback riding

The best time!

Cassandra_I, Mar 2025
My partner has been talking about living his cowboy dreams of riding horses, but has never been on one- neither have I. I read about this experience and booked as a birthday surprise for him. No regrets! Although, I may have seemed like I didn’t enjoy it, because I was concentrating really hard to not fall off or piss off my horse(who was having a “little attitude”, which I thought was the cutest thing)- I had the best time. We are definitely going back SOOOON! Other than my horse having a little cute attitude, they were well behaved and knew the way back to starting point without Logan’s guidance. Thank you to Logan for being super patient & taking our pictures. Thank you especially for the stories/history lessons.

Perfect way to see...

Sheryl_G, Mar 2025
Perfect way to see Monument Valley. Better than a vehicle tour. You see the different dry creek beds and gullies from a horse.

Amazing experience itself but the guide was not so good...

Maria_M, Mar 2025
The experience itself is amazing. Horses are very good and the place too! We just didn't like so much our guide which didn't explain anything to us and we found her a little bit rude and bored. From the beginning and immediately she also asked for a good tip. I think that the tip should depend on the service and in any case it is very rude to ask so directly for it and even before the experience has started... she was just always checking her phone in silence and when she said something seemed so much bored...! Despite this, at the end we left her 10$ and she said that if we really didn't have more cash we could also leave more tip with the card. I was very irritated because she didn't deserve not even a dollar from my point of view and we gave the tip anyway. I think that if you want a good tip (which she had anyway) just commit to give a good service at least...!!!

Awesome.

SamuelLeite_D, Mar 2025
Logan was our guide, and he's responsible for giving us a life experience that we'll never forget. If you like horses and a beautiful view it's a great tour. But if you're a western movie's fan, brace yourself and don't get a heart attack.

Logan is the Best

Robert_C, Mar 2025
2 hour horseback ride. Our guide Logan was excellent. He talked about all the monuments, and took excellent care of my wife and I. Highly recommended.
