Very fun and unique experience! Loved seeing the raccoons up close and doing a quick paddle through mangroves. The paddle is pretty short, good for new kayakers as well as experienced ones. Dylan, Francis, and Captain Chuck were great. All were very knowledgeable about local wildlife and good kayak instructors. I would definitely recommend this tour to those who want to see Raccoon Island and paddle on Biscayne Bay.

This was perfect. Parking was free, they texted us before we arrived to make sure we got to the right place. Our tour guides, Alejandra and “Tony Montana” were extremely knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the eco systems. I didn’t realize this tour included a jaunt through the mangrove forests, and wow, that was an excellent addition to this trip. Tony also knew where to find the raccoons on the island, and Alejandra was able to point out many fish to us, including pufferfish, a baby barracuda, and a huge hermit crab. Our boat driver Matt was hilarious!

Thanks to Matthew, Francis and Adam for a fun trip. The kayaking was straight forward (it was a beautiful calm day) although we had some people on our group who struggled which meant there was a lot of hanging around which was frustrating. Enjoyed the trip round the mangroves. The raccoons weren’t quite as plentiful as I’d hoped but there were adorable and enjoyed the cat food more than the fruit!

Alejandra, Tony, and captain Matthew were perfect tour guides. It's an incredible time. Expect a kayak workout.

I booked this for my daughter's 10th birthday. We had so much fun! Adam and Sean were great guides and made sure everyone had fun. We enjoyed the racoons very much. If you are looking for a fun experience this one is it!

Shawn and Adam are awesome guides, me and my friend got lost on the raccoon island and it was Shawn who found us and took us back, so warm!
Y_B, Mar 2026
Kayaking and island were great. Be sure to bring a treat for the raccoons. They really seemed to enjoy cat treats. Go as early as possible the later in the day the more people.

It was a fun little trip but don’t expect to be bombarded with racoons. I was a little disappointed there isn’t more on the island. Our tour guides were great (alijandra and I forgot the other one) very knowledgeable and interactive.

Boat to an offshore site. Kayak around island and mangroves. Kayak to Racoon Island and feed the creatures. Kayak back to offshore boat. Guides and crew members are very helpful. Our crew was Adam, Matthew and Sean. Nice guys!

Great crew, any sunny & warm day on the water is wonderful but the activity itself was underwhelming, crowded and not worth the roughly $100/pp. And, in retrospect it should have occurred to me raccoons are primarily nocturnal.

The trip was really fantastic and worthwhile on a sunny day. Angie, Ashley, and Chuck are amazing leaders. Be prepared for some legit kayaking, it could be a bit challenging to kayak to the island from open water when there’s strong morning tides that push you back, but it’s definitely good exercise. The watermelon, soda, and water supplies were very timely!

Ashley, Angie, and Chuck were such great tour guides and crew! We had so much fun. Thank you guys!!!

Tony and Alexandra and crew were wonderful and overall it was a nice experience. My only complaint was that there were too many people in the group.
Jamie_N, Feb 2026
Captain Matt, Tony and Alex were amazing and funny. The experience was so much fun. The raccoons don’t have a lot of fresh water on the island so we brought water bottles and they drank right out of them! Highly recommended trip!!
Robert_K, Feb 2026
Adam, Matthew and Sean were very fun and friendly. We got to see some furry friends. It was too cold to kayak. Come when it is warm!

Really great experience, please read all the information sent prior to your excursion as this will speed up boarding.
Some signage in the marina would be useful as there were a number of us that arrived and wasn’t really sure if we were in the right spot
We arrived as recommended at 8.30, with a start time of 9am. However the guides didn’t arrive until 9am, this coupled with no signs had people anxious that we weren’t in the correct location for the tour
I would say a certain level of physical ability is required due to the distance required to kayak
Also useful to take bottled water, grapes etc for raccoons once on the island, the raccoons loved drinking from bottles of water and made for a fun interaction
Would absolutely recommend, we travelled as a family, 2adults and 2 lazy teens 🤣

Kayaking through the mangroves was esp compelling Really liked our spirited guides who enthusiastically lead our group

So fun! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the ecosystem. Enjoyed kayaking and the island itself was so cool.

This was a perfect trip. Amazing tour guides - Ashley, Angie, and Chuck. The mangrove kayak part was a great little tour with info about the land and the raccoons made me want to cry with joy

Wear water shoes and expect to operate a kayak, just as the description says. Raccoons are so cute and will eat anything. Tony and Francisca were awesome.
Ashley_R, Feb 2026
Overall it was a great experience. You take a boat out to a spot near the island and you kayak through mangroves and then to see the raccoons. The only negative is that the group is too large. It takes a long time for everyone to get their kayaks and then give them back. It should either be less expensive or the group size should be limited.

We really enjoyed the tour it was super fun. The guides were great, and the mangrove kayaking was an unexpected highlight.

The tour was great! One of the best things we did in Miami! Alejandra and Tony took our small group of 5 out to kayaking passing through the mangroves and explaining a lot about the area and ecosystem. We then made our way to Racoon Island, greeted by the friendly Racoons who were soooo cute and loveable! We also spotted different types of fish, huge sea snails and crabs as well. Highly recommend!

I loved this activity! I would’ve done it again the next day if I weren’t leaving for a cruise. The raccoons were so adorable and they came out from wherever they were hiding the second the kayak landed on the island. They were a little “aggressive” at first but that was a me-problem, not a them-problem, they were just excited for whatever I had in my goodie bag (Reese’s Puff cereal and apple chips). The raccoons were so sweet and gentle once you started feeding them. They ate directly from my hands and I had my face so close to theirs that I literally could’ve kissed their noses if I wanted. No worries with rabies. The kayaking was relaxing in the mangroves and a little tougher heading out to the island, but totally doable. I would’ve preferred to have been on the island with the raccoons the whole time, but they can’t keep eating and eating what tourists bring, else they’d be huge, and probably lazy. I would definitely do this tour again!!! Captain Matthew, co-captain Alejandra, and first mate Tony were all great.

Ashley, Angie and Chuck all made sure we had a great time. They even threw in extra information about the area, trees and animals! Great experience!

We were running behind due to Uber issues and tried to contact the vendor thru the Viator app without success. Messages were sent at least 15 mins before the excursion time. They never responded. At the location the was no signage where we were supposed to meet and we missed the boat searching for our meet location. The address was to a large marina. I had to Google to find the So Flo Water Adventures phone number and when I called they advised I couldn't get a refund ($400 for 4 people) and it would cost another $200 to reschedule. They also said the messages sent thru Viator were emails (not text messages as the app appears) and they didn't check them until the afternoon. Overall we were very disappointed that we couldn't attend and opted to not rebook.

Our family of five loved this tour. The boat was clean and lovely, the kayaking was so fun, and the raccoon experience was unique and adorable.
Beth_D, Dec 2025
The website is misleading, paddle boards are used by the guides only. The excursion is not for only 11 people, we had closer to thirty on our boat. The staff told people to sit anywhere, which lead to groups of two sitting at tables meant for four or more people. Parties of 5 can be split up leaving one member of the party making a new friend ( at least that is what the crew told me). Photo ops for families of four work great not so much for bigger parties. The guides suggested leaving phones on the main boat but that limited the amount of photos my family could take on the island. The kayak tour through the mangrove to the island was beautiful and the guides had fun facts about the surrounding nature. Raccoon Island had a small beach littered with plastic garbage, it was unfortunate that the guides didn't encourage the guest to pick up some of the litter. The kayak trip back was serene. For the price the level of service to all guests was low. The staff catered to families they thought would tip well. Angie and Alyssa did provide the group photos via Whatsapp but they could have easily been loaded to a website.
