Everything was amazing. Very cool experience if you are interested in learning about fishing or are new to fishing. Also cool if you are great at fishing! Staff was professional and the lady was so helpful!!

There was no trip. We show at the pier and they cancel on us without warning.
Were unprofessional way to do businesses like that. We were really looking forward to this trip.

We are sorry to hear that you showed up and didn't get to go fishing. Our process is to inform guests immediately of any changes that may affect the tour. One of the ways is by phone. Please check your phone for any missed calls. Did you speak with the crew when you arrived? Unfortunately, somehow, we miscommunicated with you. In addition to full refunds, we offer to take you on another date and time if that works for you.
Such a wonderful experience! I have no experience with fishing, and honestly, was very intimidated to do so. But the guides were very patient and helpful with easing into the experience! Would definitely book again.

While on board, the crew began heavily cleaning the boat and explicitly instructed passengers to move out of the way to the other side of the vessel so they could continue scrubbing. Doing routine maintenance and cleaning while clients are actively enjoying a paid experience felt disrespectful and disrupted the entire trip. Cleaning should take place after passengers disembark, not while we are still on board.
Given that this significantly impacted the quality of our excursion

I see your point of view. Cleaning the vessel while returning to port is standard practice, and before doing so asking the passengers to relocate for a few moments is what we have found to be acceptable for our customers.
I am more than curious if just this item was worthy of a poor review for the whole experience? Was the crew friendly and attentive to all passengers? Was the boat acceptable? Did you enjoy the ride out and back?
In fairness, when you leave your Google review it would be nice to show you can appreciate positive aspects as well as negative ones. Some people just love to be only negative!

We came to Miami from Houston TX. I bought my 2 adult sons half day fishing trip. They both live fishing and loved the experience. They didn't catch big fish, but just the atmosphere, the staff, and the experience is something the will remember forever. Thank yall for giving them great memories of Miami.

Our family had an incredible experience on the half-day deep sea fishing trip with Captain Bernardo! From the moment we left the dock, Captain Bernardo and his two first mates made everyone feel welcome. The crew was professional, friendly, and worked hard from start to finish. They were hands-on the entire trip helping bait hooks, untangle lines, remove fish, offer fishing tips, and make sure everyone had the best opportunity to catch something. Their positive attitudes and attention to everyone on board really stood out.
The boat was clean, comfortable, and well organized, and the scenery out on the open water was beautiful. At the end of the trip, the crew even filleted and cleaned our catch, making it easy to take fresh fish home and enjoy. That extra level of service was greatly appreciated and really completed the experience.
Our only complaint is that the trip ended too soon we genuinely wished it had been longer because we were having such a great time. It was absolutely worth every penny, and we would 100% book another trip with Captain Bernardo and his crew. If you’re looking for a professional, hardworking crew that goes above and beyond to make your fishing trip memorable, we highly recommend this charter!

My sister and I have used the reward fleet many times in the last 10 years. It is always a great experience even if we never catch anything. I have gone on day/night/weekend/soso weather/beautiful weather it is always a fun experience. It is also nice to see familiar faces throughout the years. The team is helpful at getting the fish on boat and rebaited up. “No bait no bite”

Trip never left dock because they cancelled the night before and I still have not received refund from Viator. Do not recommend.

Nobody caught anything they could keep but the crew was nice...even tried live bait for $20 extra and not a single bite

The good thing you mention is that the crew were nice! As far as the catching goes, its unfortunately not under our control. Sometimes they just aren't hungry, more or less like people. Mentioning you even tried the live bait and STILL had no action confirms that.

The helper guy Nick talks so negatively. He kept saying I can’t guarantee fish it’s called fishing. He talks entirely too much, even told us that he is probation and just that wasn’t necessarily relevant to the fishing trip.

My son and I were in Miami for summer vacation. We wanted to try a deep sea fishing excursion. The captain was very descriptive of what to expect. The one crew member made it abundantly clear that he only got paid through tips and that his attention would be focused on them. He mentioned tips one too many times, IMO. Pay the crew so each participant doesn’t feel pressured to tip. We paid for the trip. I didn’t expect preferential treatment, but the continual conversation was tiring and disappointing.

You need to like sea fishing. Its not for casual tourists. Far too many people on the boat on the one side. Constantly lines getting tangled. Staff great though

Because we are open to the general public in an attempt to provide an affordable experience for all, at times we get very busy. Sometimes we can anchor the boat and fish all the way around, but have to fish only one side when conditions dictate.

We had an absolutely fantastic fishing trip from start to finish! The captain and crew were knowledgeable, professional, and made everyone feel welcome and comfortable throughout the day. They knew exactly where to find the fish and were always willing to help, whether it was baiting hooks, offering fishing tips, or sharing local knowledge.

We booked this charter based on the great reviews, but unfortunately our experience didn't match what we were expecting.
The biggest issue was how crowded the boat was. With so many people fishing at once, lines were constantly getting tangled, which meant a lot of time was spent waiting instead of actually fishing. By the end of the trip, only two fish had been caught across the entire charter, which was pretty disappointing.
The crew was polite and worked hard, and we understand that catching fish is never guaranteed. However, the overall experience felt rushed and overcrowded, making it difficult to really enjoy the trip. If you're looking for a more hands-on or productive fishing experience, you may want to consider a smaller charter.

Thank you for your honest review. You hit on some issues that are difficult to mitigate.
The crowding issue is understandable. We try to accommodate everyone whether they booked previously or walked up at departure time. When this happens, we will primarily anchor the boat so as to fish all around, and not only on one side, which we do routinely with 25 plus passengers. If we need to use 2 sides we can drift fish, but only when the lines don't go at conflicting angles. Wind and current conditions can make a nightmare out of any scenario no matter what we do. Regarding the catch, we understand your disappointment. Unfortunately, fish only bite when hungry, and we have to try to find them hungry on every trip. You will not see our boat sitting in one spot the duration of the trip unless we are successful.

Take extra water, wear sunscreen, do not backwash-keep your thumb on the spool to prevent line from knotting. Bring cash, recommend purchasing live bait. Great time, great crew!

I understand your concern about moving the boat and looking for fish. It's very unusual for us to only do one drift in a trip, unless of course we are catching fish! Our crew is under the gun, so to speak, trying to produce fish every trip. Moving the boat to different depths or areas is somewhat limited by the time we have. When to move is a calculated, educated guess that our captains decide on. When it works, the Captain is a hero; when it doesn't, he has to absorb the criticism.
I hope this helps clarify the crew's motives!

Had a great time even though I was skeptical at first when I arrived at the boat. The boat itself is a little run-down, but has the right character for sure! James and Nick the deckhands, bait men, and all around fun promoters were helpful and informative and very cool. Captain Steve put us in the right spot for some fish, which is of course key in this business. After I was fortunate enough to catch a pretty sizable kingfish, Captain Steve also gave me an amazing recommendation for a place nearby that would cook up my fish steaks and provide a meal for me for the evening - as well as cook the rest of the fish for me to bring back to the hotel for the next day! Roman at Mike’s at the Venetia cooked the fish to perfection, served blackened with a couple of sides, Mia was very courteous and helpful while I enjoyed a few beers and my amazing dinner at the bar.

I understand your frustration and disappointment with the poor fishing on your trip.
As a crew, we try to find hungry fish every trip with the limited time we have. Sadly, we have trips where fish just won't cooperate, making our job more difficult.
Did the Captain move the boat a few times? Many times we change depth and or locations and have success. Were you treated fairly? Our goal is to do whatever it takes to make this trip the best it can be.
I hope this enlightens you so that if you try to fish again you will understand the process better.
The workers on the boat keep arguing with each other. Very uncomfortable situation. The lady that works there should be medicated. She spent the whole trip arguing with Bob, which was a very nice guy.
