After disembarking from the ship, head to Bay#3. Due to limited availability, we require that ADA vehicle reservations be made a minimum of 48 hours prior to date and time of service. Roberts Hawaii will make all reasonable attempts to accommodate the needs of the disabled traveler. For electric wheelchairs or Scooters: The combination of the wheelchair and guest cannot exceed 500 lbs. and the maximum with of the wheelchair cannot exceed 29 inches. NOTE: Not all of the tour stops are wheelchair accessible

Itinerary
The Road to Hana is one of Maui’s most unforgettable journeys, where 52 miles (84 kilometers) of twists of curves weave deep through the East Maui rainforest. On this Kahului shore excursion to the heavenly town of Hana, let your driver deal with the narrow, two-lane, serpentine road, so you can enjoy the sweeping views and verdant tropical scenery.
Boarding a bus by Roberts Hawaii, your tour will stop at popular sights such as Hookipa Lookout, where surfers slash through breaking waves to the backdrop of the West Maui Mountains. At the halfway point on the journey to Hana, you’ll also stop at Keanae Lookout for a panoramic view of the shoreline, where local families farm fields of taro as their ancestors have done for centuries.
Stop at popular Waianapanapa State Park—home to the black sand beach—before continuing on towards Hana Bay and the town of Hana itself. You’ll also pass numerous waterfalls that are easily visible from the road, including Waikani Falls, Wailua Falls, and smaller ones in between.

Fantastic tour with Bjorn!!! Long winding paradise with plenty of stops and bathroom breaks along the way 😊 Our included lunch was in a beautiful spot at Hāna Ranch, only the selections were limited and food was cold once we arrived 😬 just wish we had more options made to order to try some local favorites 💙

Highly recommend this excursion. We walked off the ship and got right into the Robert’s touring bus. Bjorn was the best tour guide I have ever had and I travel frequently. The road to Hana is worth it. Beautiful sights and Bjorn talks the whole time giving history lessons and nature lessons. He was great!

Great day, Bjorn was very knowledgeable and passionate about the Hana Tour- he took you along on the journey.
The only negative was the seats on the bus weren't too comfy for such a long day.

Bjorn was wonderful! He really is good at keeping our attention and making a long day very pleasant. Bjorn knows the history of the Road to Hana. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone wanting to see Hana. It was nice having Bjorn drive us versus driving ourselves. By driving yourself you would miss a lot of the history of the area, places to stop at, and the trees and flora of the area. The stops picked by Bjorn made this trip a wonderful experience. The meal at the halway point really was delicious!

Born was a great guide and driver. Weather wasn’t good—not the tour’s fault of course. I think the whole Road to Hana is a bit over hyped as this once-in-a-lifetime tour—very nice but not one of the best ever.

We were fortunate enough to have legendary Bjorn (Hawaiian Viking - and the Viator reviews Taylor Swift) as our driver and guide on this ALL day trip - and trust me if I will say - that words can not describe the beauty you will see (we were bit sceptical as this maybe “tourist trap” - we could not be more mistaken - it’s simply beautiful all the way! And back!). And if you add the great storytelling and energy of Bjorn - you are in treat as a bonus on top of the fabulous ride! Simply must do at Maui! Thank you for fantastic ride- we want to move there!

Our guide Bjorn was fantastic! He shared so much information throughout the day and threw in some fun, extra stops. The lunch at Tony & Caroline’s was exceptionally good; one of the best burgers we’ve had - totally unexpected! The different waterfalls were beautiful and even though it’s a long tour, it’s so worth it!!

Our tour guide Bjorn was excellent. His knowledge and passion of the island was outstanding. He talked during most of the tour and when he took a short pause he would play Hawaiian music. Made sure that everyone's needs and requests were taken care of from water to assisting my friend with her walker. He is an excellent driver on this crazy and sometimes dangerous road. It was a long day but he made it great. I can't say enough good things about him. Mahalo Bjorn.

We took the tour Road to Hana through Roberts of Hawaii. Our guide was Bjorn and he did a wonderful job of explaining the sites and history of Maui. The stops we made were very interesting and our lunch stop at Tony‘s was extremely nice. The food and atmosphere were wonderful. When we were ready to leave, however, our wonderful day was ruined by a flat tire on our bus. At first we were told it would take two hours for a new tire to reach us. Then it was changed to, they are having trouble finding a tire. It will be two more hours. After sitting for 4+ hours the tire finally arrived. Due to the excessive amount of time it took for the tire to get to us. We were forced to make the 2hr trip back down the coastal road in the dark. We were supposed to arrive back at our ship by 530 and had plans for dinner and a show but since our arrival was not until 9:30 PM, we missed our show and had to eat at the one restaurant that was open. We were told the reason there was no spare tire on the bus was because they had only had this problem a handful of times in the past. We can understand not having a spare in the city, but this tour was to a remote location with patchy cell service so we find it hard to understand why they would not have a spare tire on the bus. We will be requesting at least partial compensation for the dangerous situation. We were left in by not having an extra tire.

Trip was ok not worth what is being charged though Ti our Driver was awesome if it was not for his humor and out going personality the trip would of been a flop not enough stops for group.

Fascinating tour around the big mountain. Many twists and turns. Fun stops throughout. Had a great tour guide who had answers for all our questions. Would recommend only if you don’t get car sick.

This tour is the Cliffs Notes view of Maui. We saw a lot, but it was long. No way to avoid without turning back. Gorgeous scenery along the way. Our tour guide Bjorn made the trip with his knowledge and great sense of humor.

We really enjoyed this tour. The guide/driver was excellent and kept people interested during the entire trip. As others have mentioned, part of the tour is on some very rough roads, but it was very interesting to see the large variation in climate with a relatively small area. I would definitely recommend this tour. Fortunately, the weather was excellent.

The Road to Hana was highly recommended, and I looked forward to experiencing it as a shore excursion.
My husband and I were the second last couple to board the van. We were not late. Only the last row across the back seating 5 was available, and I wound up sitting on the right side next to the window and over the wheel cover with my knees up. The remaining seats were quickly filled. The trip is a long one, and part of it includes six or seven miles per the driver of unpaved road filled with deep potholes. The bouncing and jouncing throwing me against the window frame was almost intolerable. The ocean was on the left, and the window was blocked by people's bodies so I could only see the side of the road. .
The driver was personable and drove well. The stops were very lovely.
We discovered that some passengers claimed to have saved money by booking directly with Roberts. Viator's charge of 169 per person seemed outrageous for such a transport. I think the back row in a van should remain empty when a trip is this long and the terrain is rough.
My best advice would be to get in line very early and to sit on the left side of the vehicle. Otherwise you will see only the greenery on the banks of the road.
Would I go again? No.

We are so glad that we decided to let somebody else do the driving on the Hana Highway! Our tour guide, David, was fantastic! We felt very safe in his hands! His knowledge of the Maui coastline was incredible! We enjoyed the many stops along the way. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Maui for the first time!

If you have the chance to request Bijorn I highly recommend him. The knowledge and expertise made the whole excursion memorable. There was more than ample time at the spots for photo ops. Bijorn certainly made the road to Hana out of this world.

It was a long day, but our Driver/Tour Guide is what made it special and interesting. You could feel the love he has for being a Hawaiian and being a Tour Guide showing off his home. I can't believe I spent all day with him and forgot his name. It was an experience that you should do at least once. Will I did it again? No. For me it was not one of those excursions that I have to do it again. I can see me back in Maui but I would do a different tour to see something different. Also, for those who do not want to sit on a bus, drive 30 minutes, get off see some sights and drive some more, this is not for you. The key is having a fun and engaging Driver/Tour Guide, it will make or break your trip.

We really enjoyed this excursion. Somehow our tour guide managed to drive our mini bus along the narrow roads with many curves while giving us an excellent commentary of the sights. We have never seen so many beautiful waterfalls and scenic overlooks.
