This was a beautiful palacel! omg the climb to the Palace was crazy steep and long. You need to pace yourself! However beautiful landscape while you’re climbing! I’m 76 and I did it👍🏼

Ask for Anna, she is the consummate tour guide. her knowlege of pena palace was incredible, as she personally guided us through the palace. Sintra is a fairytale place and Pena Palace is the ultimate fairytale palace.

A Wonderful Day at Pena Palace with Marco!
We had an amazing day visiting the Castle de Pena in Lisbon. Our driver, Marco, was excellent—punctual, professional, and very attentive to our needs. He made the day smooth and enjoyable, always making sure we were comfortable and informed. Highly recommend both the tour and Marco’s services!

Despite the torrential rains, our tour guide, Diogo, got us to and from the palace safely. He was extremely informative and was willing to be flexible regarding the agenda given the horrible weather. I highly recommend this tour and comments Diogo for a job well done!

Gustavo was great!! He showed the Pena palace with knowledge and energy. We were picked up at our place in Cascais and driven to Sinha and Cabo da Roca. He got us up the mountain without getting stuck in traffic, found a close in parking spot, and we got to skip the lines. All much better than it would have been if we tried to do it on our own!!

Visiting the Pena Palace and the Cabo da Roca in 4 hours was just right. We did not have a full day to spend in Sintra and nearby attractions, that is why this tour worked perfect for us.
Our guide David was on time picking us up and taking us through the site, he was very nice and accommodating.
However it is clear he is a new tour guide, he did not know a lot of the history nor shared them proactively. We asked him several questions for which he answered he did not know. The driving into and out of the attractions was about 45 minutes, he was quiet the whole time and did not accompany or tell us anything about the Cabo or the lighthouse.
Other tour guides there were giving a lot of information about the palace, the meaning of the decorations on both doors and the story behind them.
We had to dish out for most of the information. Tour guides are proud of their city and treasures, it comes through when they talk about them. That was not the case with David, his English was very good, but he came across just going through the minimum required effort.

Our tour guide m, Joaquim, was amazing. He was super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the history of Portugal and the Palace. He took us to separate areas on the grounds and outside of the palace that were hidden gems. The palace is beautiful and full of a lot of history, seen and unseen. Thanking those rendered nameless and faceless by history for their contribution to the palace and the history of Portugal.

Overall it was an okay experience. Our driver was good and knowledgeable but there wasn't any bottled water (it says it was included) and we were discouraged from eating our croissants in the van so we had to wait to eat our breakfast (it was an early morning pick-up and I was with a child). Wish we would have known that the coast visit could be extremely windy and cold (we could only pop out for a quick photo and scarfed down our croissants, and then got back in the van). I would have come prepared with a jacket and water had I known. Was expecting more 5-star service given it was a private tour.

Joaquin was our tour guide for the day during our Peña Palace tour and we had a wonderful time! He took the time to explain everything and had some really amazing information about the sites! We had so much fun with him and would recommend this private tour to anyone!!

Driver was great and knowledgeable, but vehicle broke down and we did not make it to either site. We got a replacement vehicle to drive us back to Lisbon, but since our tickets were for a specific time, we did not see the palace.

Guide friendly, maybe a little fast. Pena Palace beautiful. Since we'd been to Cabo de Roca earlier in the trip, we went to the Moorish castle which was nearby. Nice trip overall.

The tour guide assigned to our group was a nice young man who was not experienced or trained sufficiently. He only spoke to us when prompted. He was not able to manage our time properly. Though we were taken to Cabo de Rocha and had a nice experience, by the time we arrived at Sintra and was lead around the town by the guide he got us to the Palace too late to enter with the tickets purchased to see the palace. We were very upset as that was our main reason for going in the tour. Do not use Viator in Lisbon. Find another company instead. Also the company 's representative they subcontracted us out to was rude and yelled at me on the phone when I asked for a full refund. A horrible and upsetting experience overall.

Normally I have really good experience with Viator. I have booked my tour via Viator. This time I am very disappointed with them. When I booked this palace it said Pena Palace, Sintra, and Cabo da Roca, Private tour, full day, and underneath it says "Pena Palace on private half day tour". This means it is a full-day tour but we will spend half a day at Pena Palace. I have attached a picture of the email confirmation. When we got there our tour guide said we are only doing half a day. I told him we booked a full-day tour but he did not agree. We told him this is what the Viator website said. He said this is a mistake it should be half a day. We told him to change it so others won't get confused. I spend 158 euros on just a half-day tour. I saw plenty of other tours for better prices. Anyways I called Viator and they were not helpful at all. We ended up booking another tour from the hotel and saw Pena Palace, Sintra, Cabo da Roca, and Casis. Very disappointed at Viator as well

Ana made this half-day trip extremely enjoyable—even if the weather didn’t exactly cooperate. After picking us up—and even getting us a coffee (thank you!)—we got to Peña Palace nice and early before there were many long lines. It was raining and foggy which unfortunately took away some of the opportunities for photos, but the palace itself was still amazing to see throughout. Ana was very thorough in explaining the history and filled us in on a number of other facts about both Portugal and Lisbon and we definitely appreciated that. After we left the palace, we got to see Cabo do Roca which offers amazing views of the coast. We returned to Lisbon right around lunchtime which gave us the rest of the afternoon to explore the city. Was a great way to spend the morning and would recommend to others if you don’t want to take a full day out of your schedule. Here’s hoping you get better weather than we did!

Our group of 4 LOVED this private tour! Antonio was an amazing guide/driver and really brought everything to life. He is SO knowledgeable about the history of the palace and the surrounding area. He also is very knowledgeable about the local plant and animal life, and so that was fun to learn about that aspect of the grounds too. On the drive back we also got to stop by the beach for a little while and so that was nice. It absolutely was worth the cost to have a private car, guide, and entry tickets for the palace taken care of. This is also a small family owned business, and you can tell they take pride in their work. Thank you again Antonio! Would absolutely book with you again!

We took the half day trip to Pena Palace with hotel pick up. We received an email the day before of who would be picking us up and what time. This was perfect for us since we did not know Lisbon at all. We chose the 8:30 am pick up time so we could leave most of our afternoon open. Our guide Antonio was prompt and friendly. Since we would have been too early by the time we arrived to the area, we made a brief stop in Sintra for a quick coffee. I let him know that my primary focus was to take photos at Pena Palace and since it was just my daughter and Me, he was happy to allow time to do so. The walk from the entry to the Palace was steep and he was patient and told me to take my time and stop a minute and rest as needed. Antonio said that he loves his work as a tour guide and it really shows! He shared the history with us of the Palace and made our day great from start to finish! Also, it is best to go early morning when they first open since by noon the queue to get in is extremely long and it can be hot waiting in the sun…. We are so glad we went, a definite must see!

Also wir haben während unseres Kurzurlaubes drei Touren mit Viator gebucht.
Davon war diese am besten.
Der Fahrer fuhr sicher und rücksichtsvoll mit dem Auto und erläuterte - leider auf Englisch, aber so gebucht -alle Sehenswürdigkeiten am Rand der Fahrt und bei den Besichtigungen.
Wir haben den Pena-Palast ausführlich besichtigt. Die Eintrittskarten hat der Führer besorgt, nur für den Transfer nach oben mussten wir € 3 pro Person bezahlen. Es war sehr interessant. Als es uns zuviel wurde, hat der Führer auf unseren Wunsch die Führung auch abgekürzt.
Weiter haben wir den westlichsten Punkt von Europa besichtigt und hierfür auch genügend Zeit gekommen. An einem Strand am Atlantik sind wir vorbei gefahren. Nur von Casseis haben wir nur im Vorbeifahren etwas gesehen.
Wir waren sehr zufrieden.
Der Fahrer hat uns am Ende auch bei einem gewünschten Restaurant abgesetzt.
