Our guide Bruno was very knowledgeable, professional and fun. Small group of 6. Comfortable van. Adjusted itinerary to accommodate busy attractions so we could see the palace when lineups were not too bad. Tour covers all the highlights and plenty free time for lunch and shopping. Good level of fitness required for walking hills, stairs and navigating some uneven terrain.
I am disappointed the tour guide didn’t show up and I left and didn’t get my refund for the trip . Unacceptable
We had such a wonderful experience with Sofia on our private tour! From beginning to end, she made the entire day feel easy, comfortable, and completely tailored to us.
We started the morning with a guided visit through Pena Palace, where Sofia shared so much of the history and context behind what we were seeing. She was incredibly knowledgeable and made the experience much more meaningful than simply walking through the palace on our own. Afterward, she gave us plenty of time to explore the center of Sintra and enjoy lunch without ever making the day feel rushed.
From there, she drove us to Cabo da Roca, which had some of the most incredible views of our entire trip, and then along the coast to Cascais. She gave us about an hour there to wander, shop, explore the town, and grab an ice cream before meeting back up with her. Throughout the entire drive, she continued sharing interesting history and information about the different areas we passed, which we really appreciated.
Sofia was also incredibly friendly, punctual, and reliable. Her car was spotless and comfortable, she was always exactly where she said she would be for pickups, and anytime we needed her while exploring on our own, she was easily reachable by text. As two women traveling, we also felt completely safe and comfortable with her throughout the entire day, which meant a lot to us.
What we loved most was having the flexibility and personal attention of a private tour while still getting the knowledge and insight of a great local guide. Sofia is just beginning her own tour business, but you would never know it from the experience. Everything was organized, professional, and seamless. We would absolutely recommend booking with her if you’re visiting the Lisbon/Sintra area. She gave us one of our favorite days of the trip!
Ricardo is a great guide with a lot of local knowledge. He reversed our itinerary when he saw how crowded the palace would be that morning and had local recommendations for each stop

This was an amazing experience. Ricardo was our host and guide and he was beyond excellent! Having a small group of five was like having a private tour. Ricardo has a wealth of knowledge about Portugal and its diverse history. The van was very comfortable and a full day of touring seemed so relaxing. If you are coming to Lisbon then I would highly recommend Ricardo and his tour of Sintra.
Had a wonderful half day excursion to Cascais, Sintra, Cabo da Roca and Pena Palace. Can't say enough how knowledgeable and pleasant was Ricardo as a guide. Imersive experience walking around charming towns of Cascais and Sintra. Cabo da Roca, a great place to relax a bit and watch waves hit the stones. Pena Palace above Sintra was also amazing with lush greenery and eclectic architecture. Would recommend this experience to everyone. Also, be prepared for a little bit of walking, wasn't exhausting, we had enough time for our own pace to explore.
Good eay to some of the major highlights of Portugal. This route muvh better handled by a local versus trying to do yourself.Tour guide Issbel was fantastic, she knows the ropes, was very congenial, and a good driver.
It was a great way to see a couple small towns of Lisbon. Comfortable van that held 7 of us and the guide. Isabelle was our guide and she was very informative and pleasant. The first two stops we were on our own to look around with her guidance of what we might be interested in. Our last stop was the Pena Palace and she accompanied us into the palace and around which was very helpful! Make sure you wear comfortable “sneakers” and bring a light jacket (if not Summer). Much cooler at the Palace than we were expecting. I do think more time in Sintra would be a nice addition. However, I would still recommend this day trip to see more diverse side of Lisbon outside of downtown.
We had an amazing day with João. He took us all over and stopped at a wonderful place for an authentic Portuguese lunch! Highly recommend this trip!
If I could give this less than one star. Our tour was cancelled the night before the tour. We were not texted or called to be informed. They sent us a cancellation in an email literally hours before the tour was to begin while we were asleep. Almost ruined a day of our vacation. We were able to scramble together another tour not with Viator that morning of the tour. I will never book with Viator again! Save yourself and book with someone else.
We had the best time with Isabelle! She was super knowledgeable and friendly. She made us feel welcome and we were able to completely explore when out of the car on our own so that it wasn't always a group adventure. She was able to take our picture throughout the time with her and she even was able to accommodate us by dropping us off by our hotel after! 10/10 recommend this for anyone wanting to see it all in a day!
Our tour guide, Ricardo was the best. He was so patient with us and really allowed us to explore the places. Unfortunately, the day we went, it was extremely rainy and windy. Make sure you pick a good weather day.
I probably would not go in December again due to the weather. Overall we enjoyed this day trip with Ricardo to Sintra and Cascáis. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about Lisbon and his country in general. He was a great guide to have! I wish we had more time in Sintra though because we only had time for lunch, didn’t get to explore the town. I’m obsessed with Pena Palace and would definitely go back!
Bruno was just awesome and such a joy all day. We learned so much history and more. We had quite the downpour and, we felt very safe with his driving. He was so considerate with us walking and not slipping or getting too wet as we are older. He showed us so much and, it was hard to say goodbye!
It was a great tour with - small group of 5. We had a great time at Cascais, Cape de Roca and Pena palace. Ricardo is a great guy. We really enjoyed the lunch at the restaurant he recommended in Sintra. The only hiccup was the meeting point. It was at the entrance of the Train station but all of us went across the street because there were many groups of tour people. So please text Ricardo before the tour to conform

It was an amazing experience, Beautiful views of the mountains and ocean at the Cabo da Roca. The palace is a spectacular! Our guide , bruno was fun, outgoing and very knowledgeable. He was generous with time in allowing us to explore the sites at our leisure. He was fabulous. A must tour!

Ricardo is a fantastic tour guide. Great personality, knowledgeable, and very helpful. One of the best small group tours I have ever been on. Definitely would recommend if you want to get out of the hustle and bustle of Lisbon and see some different natural and historic beauty.

This experience was amazing. It was the perfect mix of structured touring and free time to explore. Ricardo was THE BEST, fun, friendly and knowledgeable. His grasp of Portuguese history was impressive and due to this we were mesmerized by the history lesson during the Pena Palace Tour. We had free time in Cascais as well as Sintra and Cabo Da Roca.
Enjoyed this tour very much. The scenery at Cabo da Roca is breathtaking and beautiful. Stops at each location is adequate. I appreciated the walk through Cascais….lovely community. I appreciated the shopping time and good restaurants in Sintra. The walk up to Pena Palace was taxing but was worth it.
A full day of Portuguese history. Daniel who is the owner operator gave us a detailed and thorough explanation of Portugal’s history to include the last monarchy, regional beaches, Lisbon history and much more. We stopped at a family owned restaurant where everything was handmade and the owner was a certified sommelier. There is too much to name, you just have to do it yourself to get the same rich experience that our family had. Highly, highly recommend this tour.
Ricardo was very professional, our trip was very relaxing and safe. We had enough free time to enjoy Sintra and the Peña Palace guided tour was worth the day trip. Highly recommended!
