Our guide is very personable & knowledgeable. There is water on the car ride. Both vineyard are special in their own way. We could not have had a better lunch stop - our first time to have grilled whole sea bass and sardines with sea salt & olive oil - wow- so incredibly delicious. Would recommend this tour 100%.

A locals visit to the wineries

Joao was quite knowledgeable and tried to introduce us to the wineries as well as the communities surrounding them. It was a pleasure to visit his Portugal. We were especially pleased with the small boutique winery that he showed us. The winery staff was it was very knowledgeable and very accommodating. they were flexible and changed the wines in the tasting based upon our stated preference. All in all it was a delightful experience, and the wine was good too. Lunch was also a treat. Instead of taking us to a touristy luncheon, João It took us to a wonderful fish restaurants favored by the locals. It was out of this world! All in all cannot recommend this tour and tour guide too much.

What a magical day!

Joao is such a professional, knowledgeable, friendly and personable tour guide. We started the day with Adega Mae, a family owned winery about 40 minutes away from Lisbon city center. It’s an insanely beautiful winery with amazing architecture and state-of-the-art facility. Joao is so Knowledgeable about the wine making process and the history of the winery. He provided so much helpful information in an interesting and engaging way. After Adega Mae, we had lunch at a local Portuguese restaurant. He was very good at explaining the local cuisine and got us trying very delicious local dishes that we otherwise wouldn’t have known in the first place. We also visited a local palace after the meal and got to walk around the beautiful Mafra town. In the afternoon, we visited the second winery called Manzwine. Again, it was a very informative visit. A big shoutout to the manager (Raoul) at the Manzwine. He was so amiable and generous in offering his time and knowledge about the winery and characteristics that different Manzwine. We will for sure be ordering the wines when we get back to the States! Overall it was a very magical day. My boyfriend and I had an amazing time with Joao. He is clearly passionate about what he does and it makes a huge difference in the overall experience! We highly recommend this tour. You will not be disappointed! We can’t wait to go back to Lisbon at some point and book another tour with Joao.

Excellent Winery Tour Around Lisbon

We loved our wine tasting tour with João! He was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the Lisbon area and its wineries. He chose excellent wineries and we loved the place he took us for lunch! We did the tour on our last day in Lisbon and it was the perfect way to spend our day.

João was very personable and this tour was incredibly unique and interesting! The tour provided a mix of new and old style wine making as well as a traditional Portuguese lunch (note that lunch is not included). The wines were great and we were able to taste a few wines exclusively grown in Portugal. Overall the experience was excellent!

A Great Wine Tour

My sister and I both enjoy wine and visiting wineries, and this tour did not disappoint! Lucky for us, we were the only ones booked so we had a private tasting and tour at both AdegaMãe and Manzwine, both of which were excellent. Our day with João couldn't have been better. He was very knowledgeable about wine and the wineries visited, and was very accommodating whenever we wanted to take photos of the area. Lunch was superb! He took us to a fabulous local restaurant where we had the best grilled octopus I have ever had! Thank you João for a wonderful time. We enjoyed so much!

Would highly recommend this tour/trip, we had a fantastic day, visiting two winerys/vineyards and sampling the wine, with a stop off in a lovely little rustic Portuguese restaurant in a small village for lunch. The tour guide João is incredibly nice and was very knowledgeable about the area/wines also. Cannot recommend enough!!
