Your day in the Douro region begins with convenient pickup at your Lisbon hotel, where you climb into a comfortable tour vehicle for the roughly 4-hour drive up north.

Head for the hills of the UNESCO-listed Douro wine region, full of terraced vineyards lining the banks of the Douro River.

Wind through the hilly wine region and learn about the various grape varietals. Stop at vineyards for guided tours and tastings of the world-famous wines (at your own expense). Then, in Pinhao, climb aboard a boat for a relaxing cruise along the Douro River (additional cost).

At the conclusion of your day, enjoy drop-off back at your Lisbon hotel.

Awsome trip. Great scenery with an excellent knowledgeable guide. Enjoyable wine tasting and a traditional lunch in a quaint little village away from the crowds. My wife who does not drink wine enjoyed the trip for the scenery and views.

We had a magical time, and our guide, Joao, was fantastic! The olive oil museum and winery was a particularly lovely piece of the trip. The Sandeman stop was nice, but would have been more enjoyable to go to a smaller and more obscure vineyard

NOT RECOMMENDED! This company is a SHAM. This was such a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE and such a DISAPPOINTMENT!!! SHADY BUSINESS TACTICS!!!!! Overall, this tour is a WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. Most of the time, you sit around either on the tour van or at the venues. The boat ride was shorter than advertised and it was BORING! The scenery was nothing spectacular, unless you enjoy staring at hills and still water. You only get a few wine tasting. Might as well buy your own wine bottles and drink. LUNCH WAS NOT PROVIDED AS ADVERTISED. At the beginning when we were picked up from our hotel, the driver [who is a friend of the business owner he said] confirmed with us that we would be provided lunch. During the middle of the trip, we were informed by the driver that we would not be provided lunch. He told us he could drop us off in area with a lot of shops so we could eat, so we opted for that. He did not tell us that the businesses always close for a few hours each day. We had nothing to eat besides food from the only liquor store that was open; all we ate were crackers!!! Everyone in our tour group was very upset and angry. When we booked the tour, it said it included lunch! The other group said they saw the same thing. When we investigated, we noticed the ticket changed to no lunch without our knowing, after the fact. I had taken screenshots of the deal when we booked, and it said lunch. This is terrible business!!! We didn’t even stay long in this country and we wasted a lot of time sitting around.

Exceptional tour!

This is a fabulous trip. It was overcast today and still magnificent. Our driver Carla picked us up exactly on time at the hotel. This is a small group tour so besides my husband and me, there were only 6 others on the tour. The view as we approached Douro valley became more spectacular wth every km. Our first stop was a boat trip on the Douro River which lasted about an hour and was relaxing and beautiful. Next, we drove up a steep and winding road to a small vinery where we tasted white, rose and red wine, then some honey, locally pressed olive oil and bread. We had a tour of an olive oil museum by a guide who was only on her second day and did a wonderful job. The view from the winery is awe-inspiring. I can’t comment on the lunch as I didn’t have it, but choose to check out the town of Sobrosa instead. Two interesting facts about this town; it’s the birthplace of Ferdinand Magellan and also has a park named after BB King! After lunch, we tried 3 port wines (a 10, 20 and 30 year old). They are available for purchase. Due to an accident on the highway on our return to Porto, Carla skillfully navigated an alternative scenic route to bypass the scene of the accident. It was a great day and very well coordinated by the company. Highly recommend.

Poor quality

Really poor quality in terms of a tour and winery selection. The boat ride is a joke that one can easily do on their own. Tour isn’t worth the money in this day and age where information is easily available online and access to such wineries aren’t limited since most people can drive or take a train there
