We had a fantastic time on the Charleston Speakeasy Tour! The guide was knowledgeable, entertaining, and shared fascinating stories about Charleston’s history while introducing us to some unique hidden bars. The cocktails were excellent, and the atmosphere at each stop was memorable. It was the perfect mix of history, fun, and great drinks. Highly recommend for both visitors and locals looking for a different way to experience Charleston!

This excursion far more than just exploring speakeasy’s. Our tour guide was very engaging and knowledgeable the stories and history behind each establishment as well as the story behind the nations approach to the nation ban on alcohol. I would recommend this tour for anyone who enjoys history with some great cocktails.

I should have read more reviews before booking bc this is not a Speakeasy tour. We only visited one speakeasy. While not what I expected, it was still enjoyable and our guide was very knowledgeable and very invested in the history. Learned a lot.

No Speakeasys in this Tour!

Edward_M, Jun 2026
Tour name had speakeasy in it, and we didn't visit one speakeasy. Our tour guide talked a lot about prohibition, but a person would assume the tour would visit at least one speakeasy. Name of tour was misleading.

We had a great time with Jamie and a group of fun people! The first little speakeasy stop on his tour was the best, and we went back again later!

Knowledgeable guide but a little disorganized

Helen_B, May 2026
Our guide was very knowledgeable about probation as well as various laws and leaders that pertained to prohibition and alcohol related matters. The first stop was really cool but the last 2 stops seemed a little disorganized. It seemed like those 2 establishments were not aware that a big group was coming and no arrangements were made ahead of time to accommodate us.

Vannah was an excellent tour guide! She was knowledgeable and a great storyteller. Her stories about the Prohibition Era were fascinating and were able to be tied into other historical and current events. We were able to purchase drinks at 3 different pubs and had plenty of time to finish drinking while Vannah told stories and talk about the time. Highly recommend!
