We were reluctant to try this, but the weather was unpredictable so we gave it a shot. Really glad we did. We went at our own pace, the narration was good, and no one else could ruin it for us. All and all an excellent deal for the money.

My husband and I did this walking tour and had the best time! The directions were perfect, be sure to pause it when the narrator says, “I’ll meet you there.” Then play it once you arrive at the location that way you don’t miss a thing. Honestly better than we expected. Well worth the money!

This is a great way to experience Downtown Charleston! The app is really easy to use and reliable. I like the freedom of using an app as opposed to following a tour guide and it’s much more economical. The only thing I would change is to have the tour end near where it starts.

Download instructions difficult to find. Enjoyed English piratey narrator and ongoing sound effects. Most of the stories were less engaging than in person ghost walks I have previously been on in Charleston. However, this was very budget friendly and we'll worth the low cost.

So much better than going with another group who might not go at the pace you prefer. Narrator was great; better than getting one that’s trying to be too funny or annoying. Our group was able to sync easily with each other and pause together when we wanted to. Well done!

The tour itself was good but the end is not close to the start. There was quite a bit of walking in order to get back to where we started. Not good if doing it with older people.

My wife and 3 kids (ages 9,13,15) really enjoyed the phone guided tour. It was simple to set up and fun to listen to the spooky stories. A big plus for us was it's flexibility. I would probably do a personal guided tour the next time. Still..would recommend

Orbs at the old jail

It was a very comprehensive walk around the historic district. Easy app to use and I will definitely download WalknTours for future tours. But the freaky bit was in the end. I took this pic if my husband in front of the old jail and those green orbs showed up in it. Even the dog is looking at them. I didn’t see them but the camera picked it up

Haunted hike

I waited to upload the tour cuz I was nervous about finding it again and found out I should have had earbuds. I didn't have them with me. But, turned out I couldn't use anyway as my partners phone had died so we had to share the phone. The sound effects were fun but there were several guided tours going on at the same sites and they appeared irritated with me playing it out loud even though I couldn't help it. I m glad it worked cuz I learned a lot and it was so fun! Would have been nice to have directions given to get back to our car...that was interesting....lol!

If you can, try to do this on a weeknight, or at least a night where others won't be out as much because the quieter it is, the better you can hear and the creepier it is! Be sure to grab a drink or two at The Blind Tiger to kick things off!

Self guided tour hit all the spots that group tours go to, but we lingered when we wanted for as long as wanted. Be aware that the jail is closed, being restored- the outside is covered in scafolding.

I have done ghost tours in many cities. It’s one of my favorite ways to get to know a city when traveling. This audio tour was a great value. We saved a lot of money and got all the things I would want from a ghost tour, plus we could pause it whenever we wanted and stop for a drink or snack and then pick it up at our own pace.
