Perry our guide was very thoughtful, kind and knowledgeable about the city of Charleston and the food insight he had was unmatched! He hustled at every location to make sure we were always comfortable, had water and napkins and made sure our group always had a place to sit in the restaurant. The final stop at Virginia’s was incredible, we received our own private room with a sit down experience that was 10/10. Thank you Perry for such a wonderful experience!

Perry was great! Very friendly and lots to share! Virginia’s was the first stop and hands down the best! A generous sample plate of cheesy grits with shrimp, pimento cheese, and banana pudding! After that baked goods and lattes! A good walk with historical details!

Sydney start a our brunch tour gonna be here by greeting us with yummy biscuits that were hot out of the oven. Great way to start the tour! She took us to several locations and the food only got better. Along the way she told us great history facts and we learned so much in just a few hours. She stopped at several locations that allowed us to use the restroom and cool off as well. Sydney was just lovely and we really enjoyed our experience. I would highly recommend this tour

this was an amazing tour. Nathan was the best tour guide I’ve had on a food tour. He was very knowledgeable of Charleston history, food history, and also very friendly. The food was amazing. I was super full afterwards and decided to get a drink package with which with the brunch.

We went with another couple hoping to have some great food in off the beat places. Our tour guide was nice but gave way too much silly history for a food tour, stopping to explain witches and wrought-iron vs cast iron... being a large group, we waited on people a lot as well. We ended up leaving before the last stop because time went over and we had lost interest.
Response from Host, Jul 2025
Hi Dana, thank you for sharing your thoughts about your time on our Charleston Walking Brunch Tour. We always appreciate hearing from our guests, as it helps us ensure each experience is enjoyable and memorable.
We’re glad you found your guide pleasant, and it’s great to hear that you joined the tour with friends to discover Charleston’s culinary scene. Many of our guests have shared that they really value the local stories and historical details we include, as they help bring the city’s food culture to life. That said, we understand that preferences can vary, and some guests prefer a stronger focus on tastings over background information.
Regarding the pacing, we do occasionally see a little extra time needed with larger groups to allow everyone to enjoy each stop comfortably. We strive to balance this with keeping the tour on track, and we appreciate your patience during those moments.
Even though you left before the final tasting, we hope you were able to enjoy some of the brunch offerings and discover a few new places to return to on your own. If your travels bring you back to Charleston or any of our other Secret Food Tours worldwide, we’d love the opportunity to welcome you again, perhaps on a tour with a pace and focus that suits your tastes perfectly. If you have any further thoughts or suggestions, we’d love to hear them at info@secrettours.com.
