My sister and I had the best time taking a “make your own perfume” class—honestly one of the highlights of our trip to Charleston. Danny, our instructor, was amazing. She was so kind, welcoming, and effortlessly cool, and her knowledge of fragrances was seriously impressive. She took the time to understand what we each liked and guided us in creating scents that felt perfectly us.
The whole experience was fun, interactive, and so memorable—we couldn’t have asked for a better activity to do together. On top of that, the shop itself is adorable, filled with the cutest little gifts and so many fun fragrance finds. We left with our custom perfumes and such a great memory. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Charleston!

My wife and I did this together. We are 50 and really enjoyed. Thought our kids would enjoy too. You really get to explore all your favorite scents and come up with your unique blend. There was another couple doing too and we had a great time. Ended with some Champagne. Great host.

It was a great experience however I will make sure to know that it is truly a 3 1/2 hour experience. Also know that the base price is a base price and you’ll probably spend another hundred dollars creating your piece.

Hi Margaret, I am so glad to hear you enjoyed your experience and thank you for sharing this feedback, however I am unsure I understand the comments. If you took the Mix & Match class, it shouldn’t have taken anywhere close to 3.5 hours unless there was time to allow you unlimited exploration. If we do not have additional bookings in the next class offering, we do allow customers to take additional time in creating their samples. Additionally, the only extra charges would be for an upgraded bottle, if you decided to bottle more than one fragrance, or a $5 up charge for a signature fragrance. Please connect with our location directly if your experience was different from what I have just described.

My husband, a friend, and I learned of this unusual opportunity for something different to do while in Charleston, and we were not disappointed. We arrived for our scheduled appointment early and were greeted and started our adventure sooner than expected, which was great. Our instructor gave us a foundation and offered every possible tip to creating our own fragrances from 3 base scents out of 10 options, and trying different combinations from an alphabetical “organ” of about 300 secondary scents. Once we tried our magic 3 combos on each wrist and one on the back of the right hand, we were advised to freely go outside for nose/scent clearing, and decide which one was “the one” for each of us (although we each ended up with 2 of our distinctive scents because they were our personal creations!), then added distilled water and alcohol, and poured our concoctions into 55 ml bottles, for which they made individual labels for each with our chosen product names. We were treated to champagne and received certificates for completing the class. This was a fun and unusual experience and we now have scents to remember that experience. Put this at the top of your to do list when in Charleston!

This experience was such a blast to do with coworkers! Meredith was amazing at walking us through each step, encouraging us to follow our instincts, and supported us in creating our perfect perfumes!
We also went home with a full bottle of personal creation and an additional travel container to put it in for future use. Well worth the money and would definitely do again for a bachelorette or bachelor party!

I strongly recommend this experience! It was so much fun to try different smells/oils and was pleasantly surprised by scents that I thought I would like but didn’t. The employees were very warm, welcoming and helpful. The take aways were great. And the actual shop location was central to many restaurants/bars.
Would consider doing the class again.

I was expecting a great experience and that is exactly what I got. The young ladies helping us was extremely patient and informative. She asked me what type of fragrance I enjoyed and pulled some scents that I ended up using in my bespoke fragrance. Both my daughter and I can’t stop talking about the fabulous time we had. We took a girls trip to Charleston. I dropped off my 14-y/o daughter and her friend for this perfume-making class, and went to do some shopping. They loved it! My daughter had done a perfume-making course in Paris so I was afraid she would think this one wasn't as luxurious but she had a fantastic time. The women at the shop were wonderful hosts, so I felt fine leaving the girls there for 90-ish minutes. They gifted the girls some soap and a mini of their favorite perfume from the store in a cute bag. Oh! And the perfumes they 'designed' actually smelled great. Sounds like it was A++ !!! :)

Great class and the instructor did an amazing job! The instructor has a passion for scents and was very knowledgeable and open for any questions. You leave with your own creation bottled and the formula is archived under your name and scent name. A nice champagne toast is also provided at the end of your session. Great couples, group activity.

This was a perfect Mother’s Day activity for an afternoon spent in Charleston with my mom.
