Great tour. Note Viator dumbs the name down. Great guide and loved the tour. Can do this and should do this on top of a more standard walking tour.

This was a great tour-I happened to be the only one booked that day, so got a one on one experience. An excellent way to get the lay of the land in downtown, see some iconic sites, and learn about fascinating women from the area-some you’ve heard of, many you likely haven’t. 5 stars!

I really enjoyed this tour on the Badass Broads of Charleston! Jonathan made it both entertaining and educational. He was very knowledgeable and just a really engaging guide. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for a little different spin on the history of Charleston.

Jonathan did a great job weaving together typical historical info about Charleston and stories specific to some amazing women we'd never heard about. Definitely recommend this tour.

Excellent tour by Jonathan! He was knowledgeable, entertaining, and catered to our group. He provided a lot of great information in an engaging way and we all loved the tour. He was able to tell when we needed shade, or hydration and gave us what we needed.

Johnathon is a truly exceptional guide and a genuinely kind soul. His passion for the history of his city— and the women who built it— is palpable. He doesn't shy away from Charleston's complex past of slavery, instead, he commits to sharing it with empathy, action, and remembrance that elevates the experience beyond a typical tour. This is a great way to orient yourself to the city, and I highly recommend taking it early in your stay. With plenty of stops along the way to stop and sit a moment, Johnathon has the absolute craft of storytelling on full display.

Jonathan was a fabulous guide – knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about Charleston and its history. I learned so much during the Bad Ass Broads of Charleston tour, and his storytelling really brought the city’s past to life. I’d highly recommend this experience to any history buff looking for a unique and memorable perspective on Charleston.

Fascinating tour! Jonathan delivered thoroughly researched insights. This was beyond our expectations! Reminded this tour is about women not for women! Come all!

Jonathan is the best tour guide and his words are inspiring. He brings their story to life! Learn about these women in American history who are truly bad-a$$ pioneers for the women of today! We enjoyed every minute of this educational experience!

All of the tour was great with lots of fun information.
The passion of our tour guide Jonathan makes for a great tour. And to meet one of the house owners Mrs Pinky Peters was my favourite. I hope she is well.
To start the tour you meet Jonathan at Bitty & Beau's, a little coffee shop that is well worth visiting.

Highly recommend Jonathan Green’s tour Bad Ass Broads of Charleston! He brings to life the history of these remarkable women who influenced this area and far beyond. I have some new heroines! Jonathan also provides some interesting details about Charleston’s general history as well as some of the architecture on the walk.

Amazing! Came from Florida for Spring Break. Doesn't matter what age or gender, this is the best tour!!! I found this online, and didn't know what to expect, but what actually happened was more than I could ever imagine. This was the most realistic and proudest resident of Charleston, sharing the Baddest Broads of Charleston's history. Also, architectural history too..
Susan_T, Mar 2024
Jonnathan gave a great tour and information about the city and how influential women were involved. Very passionate about slave trade and that dark part of the city history.
Susan_H, Feb 2024
Jonathan made the walk a great success, he has done his research well and he knows his people, his strong women.
I would recommend his walk.

Jonathan was personable, knowledgeable, and entertaining. We had a great time on our tour learning about the badass women of Charleston.
Kay_C, Nov 2023
As a 30 year resident of the Charleston area and familiar with most of the women beautifully described on the tour, I learned a great deal of fascinating history. Jonathan is passionate, knowledgeable and a fierce supporter of women and their contributions.
Graham_T, Oct 2023
Jonathan, our guide, was very knowledgeable and very engaging. He made an effort to include each member of our group with respect to asking us for questions and answering them. He paced the tour to move with our interests and held our attention. This was a relaxed, enjoyable and information filled tour. We highly recommend Jonathan himself as well as the content of this tour - a tour of Her-story - and what an interesting group of women they were!

J was an excellent history teller. His tourl could not have been better. His accuracy of historical information was exceptional. He was funny, charming, polite, and dedicated to preserving the information as he is currently taking classes and writing a book. I will do the tour again with other family members next spring.
AJ_J, Aug 2023
My guide, Jonathan, was spectacular! He brought facts but also a clear love of the city that made it’s history come alive. This tour in particular is his brightest jewel. He’s done some great deep dives into the historical dynamos that shaped not only Charleston, but also the nation. If you love discovering history that’s not in the history books, but that should be, this is the tour to take.
Brooke_B, May 2023
THIS IS THE TOUR TO TAKE! Jonathan was an amazing tour guide and he is so passionate about the history and women of Charleston! My friend and I had the best time! We seriously learned so much. We already discussed taking another tour of his the next time we visit Charleston.
Christine_M, Mar 2023
Bad Ass women tour is a must! Our guide Jonathan was informative, funny and relates well to his audience. We learned about women who had a big part in our history that aren’t discussed often and Charleston. Would highly recommend this tour!
CJ_O, Jan 2023
Jonathan was SUPER knowledgeable about the badass women who had a hand in Charleston’s rich history! We learned so much about the city…much more in depth that you would get from any of the carriage rides that have to just breeze past a historic site or building with a one-liner about who lived there. We got deep into the weeds about people, places, and things! That’s the benefit of a walking tour. But this was so much more. If you like history, and the under-told stories, this tour is for you!!
corinna_D, Nov 2022
John was a wonderful passionate tour guide! He really knows his Badass Broads !!! I was able to tell my friends who weren’t on the tour all I learned.
Kelly_L, Nov 2022
John is a greater tour guide and storyteller. His knowledge and passion made this tour very enjoyable. We would highly recommend this tour!!!
