Austin was very informative and knew his facts about all the history locations we visited. Enjoyed it very much.
Great option for someone who wants the flexibility in the cold weather.
Merry_H, Jan 2025
We did a tour in Salem and a ghost tour in Boston on our last day we wanted to do a tour nd have the flexibility to start and stop with a break for lunch in case the weather was bad and it was too cold. This was perfect. We enjoyed walking the city at our own pace and listening to the tour. Very informative and fun.
On your own walking tour!
Patricia_R, Nov 2024
Didn’t want to do the hop in and off trolley and didn’t want to do a big group tour of area. This was nice could pause when wanted and picked up when I was ready to start up again. Informative walking tour. Had a little trouble getting started but called help number and within minutes I was all set.
Excellent

Lots of great info. The ability to start and stop is great. We went in an enjoyed many of the sites, including a meal at Union Oyster and a drink at the Green Dragon. We spent the day walking around Boston!
Payed for nothing

It was confusing to get stated and once I got the app downloaded , it did not work . I ended up paying for a guided tour which was much better
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Hi Ralph, I see that you purchased the Boston Downtown Freedom Trail Tour and were trying to take the "Classic Freedom Trail Tour". As you can see the Downtown tour is cheaper, as it's only downtown. The Classic is a different product. Sorry for the confusion on that, I am always here to help. 1000's take this tour and love it, so I'm sad to see you had issues. I did refund you, so you did pay nothing.....you can email me anytime at info@walkntours.com or text 617-991-3269. Thanks! Please also confirm you had the WalknTours app, you do need that to take the tour. Good news is the tour never expires, and our tour goes to many sites that the in person does not go to, the Classic tour is the WHOLE freedom trail. The in person tour is only a small portion of the Freedom Trail. Have a great day.
Great value! Awesome way to spend a day with your family.

I felt the tour was a very good value and way better than I expected. It was nice to stop and have a snack or a lunch break. It’s also a super long tour. I didn’t know I was going to Bunker Hill. It was a bonus.
Good tour

Was difficult following directions to get to where the tour started. I booked it and wanted to use on my boyfriend's phone but it was impossible so I had to buy it a second time with his name on his phone to actually use it. The Freedom Trail line really helped us navigate and the arrow in the app helps too. Very difficult to hear unless you're using headphones because of all the traffic noise. Otherwise a good historical telling of all the sites.
Great way to see history

This tour is a great way to see the Freedom Trail at your own a pace while also enjoying the sights and sounds of Boston. My husband and I shared the audio on one phone and this worked just fine. We took our time and paused at the places we wanted to stay at longer and learned so much about this country's history. The path is easy to follow and the audio is great at directing you on which way to go.
We started at the visitor's center and they were helpful at getting us going in the right direction.

The tour was easy to download and use. And so informative! What a great way to not spend a lot of money, but still learn a lot about Boston! And at your own pace. I highly recommend it!

Had an extra couple of hours before my flight and decided to do an audio tour. Super informative and educational. Great directions and I never got lost or felt I was going the wrong way. Highly recommend the “ dig deeper” options. Could have missed my flight I enjoyed it so much!

Best way to do a guided tour
Richa_B, Apr 2022
This was a very detailed and fun experience! We got the experience of a guide without having to keep up with a group. Best situation!
Response from Host, Apr 2022
Love it! We totally agree and this is what we strive for, to create experiences that are better than an in person guide for a fraction of the price, go at your own pace and schedule. So happy you loved it! You made our day!
Frustration.

Unable to log on with no help from customer service. We gave up and never took the tour. Could not get a refund.

I hope things work out better next time. let me know how I can help.
Be sure to buy part 2!
Alison_N, Jul 2021
I really enjoyed the tour learning a lot of information and the tour guide even had me smirking— I was disappointed when I was told I had to buy part two to finish walking the trail either I missed it in the description or it wasn’t explained.
Response from Host, Jul 2021
Hi Alison! Thanks for the great review for the WalknTours app! "The Freedom Trail Part 2 The North End" is one of our most popular tours, featuring 3 different narrators. My favorite part is probably Copps HIll burial ground, followed by the Fisherman's feast dig deeper. But don't miss out on all the great North End Italian shops we stop by and tell there story. Love it!
We offer two options on Viator, One is the standard tour in Boston, the one you purchased "Historic Boston Freedom Trail", from the Boston Common to the Hay Market, it's about a one hour tour. Then we have our second option "Tour of the Freedom Trail, 3 tours in 1, Solo Tour:" This is the one with all 3 parts o the Freedom Trail, 3 plus hours in total and very entertaining.
Thank you for taking our tour!
Great experience
