Itinerary
Meet your knowledgeable guide in the morning across the street from Boston’s Old State House. Take your first steps along Boston’s iconic Freedom Trail, a historic walking path that snakes past many of Beantown’s most famous landmarks from the colonial and revolutionary-eras. Check out the stately Faneuil Hall and explore both Boston’s Old and New State Houses before stopping to pay your respects at the site of the 1770 Boston Massacre.
Continue by foot past the Old Corner Bookstore and King’s Chapel before heading toward Boston’s downtown area. As you head into the forest of skyscrapers, catch a few glimpses of the Boston of old along the way, including Boston Common, the Public Garden, and one of the world’s smallest suspension bridges.
Arriving downtown, gaze up at the John Hancock Tower before passing by the Boston Public Library and Trinity Church? Want to feel like a real winner? Make sure to take a ceremonial pass over the finish line location for the famous Boston Marathon. End your trip amidst the beautiful architecture of Copley Square.

Allan was such a fun and knowledgeable tour guide. I appreciate that our tour group was small because we got to hear it all. Our tour guide was patient and answered everyone’s questions. It was my daughter’s favorite part of the trip.
Response from Host, Dec 2025

Very informative tour of Boston. He knew so much history of the areas we toured. Doesn't do the entire Freedom Trail. It was very difficult to find the tour guide Need to have a better way to locate them
Response from Host, Oct 2025

It was an educational and entertaining walk from the Freedom Trail, to Beacon Hill, and then the Back Bay. It’s probably the 5th time I’ve been on the Freedom Trail, but I still learned something new.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Happy that we could add some new perspective to your Boston world.
Michael_P, Sep 2025

Tour Guide Alan was knowledgeable and friendly. The tour itself had a variety of walking surfaces that may be hard for people with mobility issues. It was cold and windy that morning so be sure to check the weather and dress appropriately. We found the tour to be full of interesting information and sights.
Response from Host, Jun 2025
Thanks!! We'll work on the sidewalks and weather...

Alan, our guide did a great job, bringing Boston's history to life, but his restaurant referral for after the tour resulted in a memorable culinary experience, the best meal we've had on this trip. All in all, a very good day.
Response from Host, Oct 2024
Glad you had a great "Boston Day"!
Terri_H, Oct 2024
Alan was very knowledgeable about Boston and I appreciated he has been a lifelong resident of Boston and seems to enjoy sharing information with others. He was also very humorous 🙂

Allan was really great and gave us some interesting insight on the history of the city. He also discussed the architecture as well.
It was a really hot day and he made sure we stopped for water, used the restroom, and stayed in the shade when necessary.
He also gave us souvenir pins and recommend places to eat and shop
I recommend this tour
Response from Host, Aug 2024
Glad you enjoyed the tour! And congrats on this weekend!!
Angela_B, Jul 2024
The tour started late because there was a family running behind but then the tour guide decided then to pull out his microphone to get it tested etc. Overall loved the smaller group size compared to others on the trail and our guide was knowledgeable but got off track easily. We were suppose to end at noon… he said we were running 20 minutes over….but at 12:25 we were still about 10 minutes away from the end point and we had lunch reservations. We left because our guide was still getting off track.
Response from Host, Jul 2024
We did finish later than scheduled and I apologize for that. As you noted, some people did arrive late for the tour. And sometimes people ask questions or there are crowds or traffic. Also wanted to add that "off track" doesn't necessarily mean not germane to the group. People do ask questions. But if you feel you got short-changed on the tour, contact me directly.
Lisa_G, Jul 2024
Allen was great. He made sure everyone could hear what what he was saying. He was very knowledgeable.
Response from Host, Jul 2024
Thanks for noticing. Do try to allow everyone to hear.
Eric_C, Jul 2024
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable. Answered any questions. Was very courteous to allow water breaks. Learned a lot about the Back Bay area that I didn't previously know.
Response from Host, Jul 2024
We needed you alive so you could write these kind words. Thanks!
Alisha_D, Jun 2024

One of the BEST tours we have ever experienced!! Alan was truly superb- knowledgeable, friendly, kind, patient, and funny! We could not have asked for a better start to our Boston trip. We shared fun facts with the rest of the family all weekend- loved it!
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Thanks so much for your wonderful review!! Really appreciated.
Doris_S, Sep 2023
Enjoyed our small group , the weather was nice. Our guide was super ! Loved seeing the beautiful gardens.
I was thinking we were going to see mire older buildings.
Response from Host, Sep 2023
Glad you enjoyed the tour, but not sure I understand the older buildings comment. We saw and talked about Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, the Custom House Tower, Old State House, Ames Building, Old Corner Bookstore, Winthrop Building, Old South Meeting House, Old City Hall, Kings Chapel, Tremont Temple, Park Street Church and the New State House - and that was just the Freedom Trail portion! Plus we saw a lot more as well.
