What are people saying about Skagway
Krissy_T, Oct 2025
10/10 - Must for your first Skagway visit! Will was great guide!
We had the absolute best time on this tour and our guide Will was the absolute best! What an honor to be part of his final tour group of the 2025 season.
We did White Pass Railway in the morning and then opted for this tour in the afternoon because we had a feeling we’d get to see and explore so much more and BOY, we were right! The stop-and-go style of this tour was perfect for sightseeing and photos ops. Will was a great driver, had a great personality, was very informative and took great photos for us! As expected, the foliage was gorgeous for mid-October and the temps were perfect (not that it mattered too much because the bus was a perfect temperature.) We also got very lucky that the fog lifted just as we arrived at the Welcome to Alaska sign… and the fog returned just as we were leaving.
10/10 - I’d recommend to anyone visiting Skagway for the first time.

Love love loved it!!!!
This excursion was AMAZING!!
we were there in late September/early October 2025 the weather and views were spectacular!!!
We prefer doing this excursion over the white horse pass train because the train doesn’t stop.
Our guide was more than informative, he offered to take our pics so we wouldn’t have to do selfies :)

Wil is the bomb!
We had an absolutely wonderful experience with our tour guide, Wil Muñoz! He is the perfect blend of fun, knowledge, and genuine engagement.
From start to finish, Wil kept us fully attentive; not just because of the rich information he shared, but also because of the way he delivered it. He has a unique ability to make you laugh one moment and deepen your appreciation for the historical and cultural significance of a site the next.
He managed our group of approximately 42 people (if memory serves me right), many of whom were elderly or had mobility challenges, with patience, attentiveness, and care. That alone deserves recognition, as it’s no small task.
By the end of the tour, I found myself thinking: “This is exactly how every tour should be conducted.” It was professional, entertaining, and truly enriching.
Wil set a high standard, and we sincerely hope more tour guides can follow his example. We need more of Wil! Thank you, Viator. Thank you, Skagway Tours!

Great tour
We are really glad we chose this tour and Chris our guide was so engaging and funny he made the whole experience informative and fun. He not only gave us lots of information about the area but took time to take our photos for us so that we could all be in them.

Dog lovers dream
If you love the sled dogs, this is the experience for you! We enjoyed being pulled by the adult team and being able to love on them after, meeting a couple of the newly retired dogs as well as the "teenagers" - of course holding the babies is always a highlight. If you're a dog lover - you'll love this! I felt it was reasonably priced for the experience. All transportation was provided, our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. This has been my favorite experience thus far.

Great Alternative to the Train
Perfect way to see the scenery from Skagway to Yukon. The guide, Trey, was very informative and personable. He is also a safe driver which is comforting on the mountain road. We enjoyed the suspension bridge, visiting the sled dog camp, and the scenic stops along the route.

The beautiful scenery is only beat by the hilarious guide
Excellent tour with beautiful views and cute pups. Note that this tour starts with a long ride, but you won’t mind it because it’s full of stunning scenery all narrated by a talented and charismatic guy named Noah! The sled dog camp is very interesting and seeing and “petting” dogs that love to work is a joy. Definitely worth the time and money!

Great day thanks to “Hawkins”
We had a wonderful time on a foggy trip up the pass. You never know what the weather will be in Skagway. Hawkins (Daniel) our guide had a great sense of humor and kept things light and fun the whole way. He was able to read the weather and as a result we passed a couple points on the way up that were too foggy, allowing time to stop on the way back down when they had cleared. Suspension Bridge was fun to see and cross over on foot. Waterfalls were beautiful, watching the train come through the mountains was amazing. Looked like a toy in the vast wilderness. Lots of great stories, we even got to prank our sister with good hearted jest and Hawkins assistance. Our trip was on Sept. 9, 2025 Highly Recommend

Incredible Tour with Mike – A Must-Do in Skagway!
We had an unforgettable time on the White Pass Summit and Skagway City Tour, thanks to our amazing guide, Mike! From the moment the tour began, Mike’s energy, passion for history, and deep knowledge of the area made every stop engaging and meaningful. He brought the stories of the Klondike Gold Rush to life and shared fascinating local insights that we never would have discovered on our own.
The drive up to White Pass was absolutely stunning, and Mike made sure we had plenty of time for photos and soaking in the scenery. His humor, professionalism, and genuine care for everyone’s experience really stood out. This tour was a highlight of our Alaskan cruise, and Mike made it truly special.
If you’re in Skagway, don’t miss this tour—and definitely ask for Mike. He’s the best!
Sincerely,
The So Calis

A Beautiful Day in the Yukon
The Yukon is beautiful, and this tour was a great way to see it. On every turn you would see a picturesque moment and fortunately the tour included many stops along the way so you could take those pictures. The bus was very comfortable, and we had 20 people on the tour so there was plenty of room for comfort.
Andrew was our tour guide, and he was very informative and funny. Also, he played the harmonica very well which seemed to act like the Pied Piper because when he started playing everyone would head back to the bus.

This was a really great...
This was a really great experience at the Yukon suspension bridge itself. We enjoyed the scenery. The facility was very clean and very nicely put together. But I would say that the best part about this trip was our driver/host, Pat Kennedy. He was very knowledgeable and stopped and took pictures of the guest with different local attractions/areas.

Great tour with a fun group
The chances of spotting wildlife always vary but we saw 3 black bears 2 bald eagle young kings and about a dozen mountain goats.
The scenery is spectacular.
I was expecting to be disappoint d at the stop at Carcross but the food was good and the taxidermy display is worth seeing. Oh - and cute husky puppies!
A good tour guide makes a difference - Kenton was witty, knowledgeable and kept us laughing almost the entire way.
