Incredible Day Trip from Lisbon to Sintra!

My Aunt and I did this all day private tour from Lisbon to Sintra to visit several castles and the quiant town of Sintra. Our guide, Joao Fernandes was incredible - extremely knowlegable on the history of every stop and the town. Our lunch on the beach at Bar do Fundo at Praia Grande was a huge highlight of the day - the food was out of this world and the views were breathtaking. I would highly recommend this tour and you can customize it to see what you want - so be sure to message them after you book to do so, they are very accomodating. Plus, you get hotel pick up and drop off included, no trying to navigate a meeting spot!

Interesting experience. The palace is fantastic. The view of the farest west point of Eurobean land is awsome. The tour guide explains every thing in English then in french because we had half of the team from Australia and half from the french Canada. Since I speak both english and French, I heared eveything twice. Interesting!

Portuguese For a Day ... Impressed for Life

My wife and I did a full day tour with André, the owner of Portuguese for a Day Tours. We toured the Pena Palace, the Regaleria and Sintra. It was amazing. Andre' made sure that we were at the right locations, at the right times, to avoid the predictable long lines. You should be prepared for quite a bit of walking on this tour. André paced the walking to accommodate the slower members of our group. He was specific about times to meet and locations whenever we were on our own. André is knowledgeable and informative. He covered a lot of the obscure details about the sites that we visited, providing information that is not readily available in tour books. We particularly appreciated his discussion and sharing information about the culture in Portugal, it greatly enhanced our experience, on the tour but on our stay in Lisbon too. It is clear from our conversations that Andre' loves Portugal. André has in-depth knowledge of the areas that we toured with him, but I am sure that he is just as knowledgeable about the other locations where he and his wife provide tours. André provided recommendations for dining, shopping, Fado venues, and any other thing that we asked about. We tried some of his shopping and dining recommendations and they were spot on. His advice was extremely valuable. We highly recommend Portuguese For a Day tours, you won't be disappointed. I know that we weren't.

This is a long day, but absolutely worth it. Visiting Fátima, Nazaré, and Óbidos in one trip gives you a great taste of each place, and they all offer something different—from the spiritual significance of Fátima to the coastal views in Nazaré and the charm of Óbidos. Our driver/guide was wonderful—very kind, knowledgeable, and made the day feel easy and enjoyable. They shared helpful context without overwhelming the experience and kept everything running smoothly. If you’re short on time and want to see a variety of places outside Lisbon, this is a great option. I’d definitely recommend it.

A day of learning!

We had an amazing time with Nuno because he knew the best way for us to have the best experience by taking it in the Back way Sintra We’d love the gardens and spent a little time in the castle, but really enjoyed our walk around the gardens, then he took us to a lovely café for some pastries that were local to Sintra and then on our way back we went to Peña, which was quite beautiful and he spoke of the history of Lisbon. I knew much about the surrounding area that made it very educational and wonderful experience. We strongly recommend this tour.

We took a two hour Tuk Tuk excursion through the city during our seven hour layover in Lisbon. We arrived a little bit early and the company was very flexible and allowed us to start half hour earlier. We had a great time taking in the views on the seven hills of Lisbon. Would highly recommend!

Lisbon Walking Tour - The Perfect Introduction to the City

An amazing and insightful walking tour around Lisbon centre.

Our guide Claudia was amazing on this tour. We started in the tour in the Praca de Comercio square. Be weary there were other tour guides operating at the meeting point with orange umbrellas, but as we booked on Viator, Claudia had our names on her list to confirm we were with her when we approached. The tour lasted 2.5 hours and took us from the square to Rossio and Baxia-Chaido. We visited a number of places and stopped frequently whilst Claudia explained the history and interesting insights of Lisbon. We visited a church, saw the fountains, stopped up for a traditional cherry liquor called ginjinha - so don't forget to take some euros with you. The principle of the tour is that it's free, but you do tip the guide in cash at the end as they have given up their time to take you around and having that local knowledge early on in your stay is so beneficial for your visit. We definitely re-visited a few places after the tour. Overall we enjoyed this tour and would definitely do something like this again.
